Walter J. Bernaski
Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class Walter Joseph Bernaski, 77, of Huntsville died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Methodist Church in Adairsville, Ga., with Chaplain Paul Vicalvi officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Adairsville with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Bernaski of Huntsville; two daughters, Terri Boyd and Patricia McClure, both of Huntsville; one son, Ronnie Bernaski of Huntsville; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.

Frank E. Bowen
TAFT, Tenn. - Frank Edward Bowen, 82, of Robertson Hollow Road died Sunday at a Fayetteville, Tenn., hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home chapel with Bro. George Coffell officiating.
Burial will be in Blanche Cemetery.
Survivors include one sister, Mary Frances Luna of Taft; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Nina F. Clifton
RAINSVILLE - Nina Faye Clifton, 68, died Sunday. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Nazareth Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger Graham and the Rev. Doyle Shirey officiating.
Burial will be in Mountain View Memory Gardens with Rainsville Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Richey of Prattville and Sheila Long of Birmingham; two sisters, Lorene Dill of Chickamauga, Ga., and Ruby Lee Boling of Michigan; one brother, Verlon Whited of Michigan; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Robert B. Clotfelter
Robert B. Clotfelter, 55, of Huntsville, died Thursday at a local hospital. A memorial service will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Robert L. Archibald Jr. officiating.
Roselawn Funeral Home of Decatur is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Clotfelter was a native of Gadsden, an assistant professor of English at Jacksonville State University, a teaching specialist and library technician at Redstone Arsenal and was a retired Army lieutenant colonel.
Survivors include two brothers, the Rev. John W. Clotfelter of Decatur and Wayne R. Clotfelter of Tallahassee, Fla.
Memorial donations may be made to John Harold Campmire Scholarship Fund of Central United Methodist Church, 303 S. 11th St., Gadsden 35901.

James E. Coffman
ATHENS - James Edward Coffman, 46, of 21989 Hickory Hill Lane died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church with Dr. D. Juaken Dumas and the Rev. Grady Reyer officiating.
Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery with Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Coffman of Athens; one son, Jimmy Coffman of Athens; three daughters, Roree Coffman, Renee Gray and Joy Coffman, all of Athens; two sisters, Frances Coffman and Mae Peebles, both of Athens; and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Maxie L. Delap
ARDMORE, Tenn. - Maxie L. Delap, 81, of Union Hill Road died Sunday in Pulaski, Tenn. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Gatlin Cemetery with Bro. William Suddarth officiating.
Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Survivors include one son, Doug Delap of Ardmore, Tenn.; one daughter, Janice Erwin of Ardmore, Tenn.; one sister, Ruby Hatcher of Birmingham; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

William P. Dobbs Jr.
GADSDEN William Parks "Corky" Dobbs Jr., 63, died Monday. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Crestwood Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Abbott officiating.
Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery.
Mr. Dobbs retired from the Huntsville Police Department after 16 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy McClellan of Huntsville; two sons, William "Chip" Dobbs and Charles "Chuck" Dobbs, both of Huntsville; one brother, B.J. Dobbs of Huntsville; one sister, Elizabeth Arbuckle of Huntsville; and five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Thomas J. Durham
RAINSVILLE - Thomas J. "Jeff Durham, 90, died Sunday at a Fort Payne hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Broadway Baptist Church with Dr. Kevin McCreless and the Rev. Nolan Ford officiating.
Burial will be in Mountain View Memory Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Lucile Durham; one daughter, Faye Wagoner of Rainsville; two sons, Richard Durham of Birmingham and David Durham of Nashville, Tenn.; three sisters, Mary Schallock and Hazel Scott, both of Rainsville, and Syble Hall of Augusta, Ga.; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Ollie M. Garner
HARVEST - Ollie M. Garner, 72, died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at noon at Conley Chapel CME Church with the Rev. Ollie Hatchett Sr. officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Garner was president of the Missionary Society and the Stewardess Board at Conley Chapel CME Church. She was also a dietitian for the Huntsville City Schools.
Survivors include her husband, Walter E. Garner Sr. of Harvest; one son, Walter E. Garner Jr. of Detroit; three daughters, Lillie Jones of Bedford, Texas, and Irma Garner and Deborah Garner, both of Huntsville; two sisters, Ethel Readus and Lorene Jones, both of Huntsville; four brothers, Johnnie Sledge of Killeen, Texas, Bobbie Sledge of Detroit and Eligha Holden and Robert J. Sledge, both of Huntsville; and nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arnold Griffin
ATHENS - Arnold Griffin, 80, of 18406 Dement Road died Monday at an Athens hospital. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.

Dorothy E. Hargrove
Dorothy Eason Hargrove, 68, of 2804 Battle Drive died Friday at a Fayetteville hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at noon at Madkins Chapel C.P. Church with the Rev. Roy James officiating.
Burial will be in No. 4 Hall Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include one son, Davie Terry Hargrove of Huntsville; her mother, Katie Eason of Huntsville; one sister, Dr. Alice Eason of Nashville; three brothers, Howard Eason, Leon Eason and Harry Eason, all of Huntsville; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bessie N. Harrison
FLAT ROCK - Bessie Nellie Harrison, 80, died Sunday at her home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Darrell Sears officiating.
Burial will be in Beulah Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Harrison.
Survivors include two sons, James Landon Harrison and Wayne Harrison, both of Flat Rock; one daughter, Wanda Wilson of Flat Rock; one brother, Norman Oakes of LePinto, Ark.; two sisters, Nolea Durham of Arab and Sadie Collins of Texas; and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Bobby J. James
SCOTTSBORO - Bobby J. James, 60, died Sunday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Charles Cobb and the Rev. J.A. Linville officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro.
Mr. James was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church and worked for General Equipment Company for 34 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Lesa Anderson of Scottsboro; one stepson, Glenn Smith of Scottsboro; his mother, Rhoda James of Scottsboro; three sisters, Shirley James of Fountain, Fla., and Margaret Gross and Paulette Porter, both of Scottsboro; two brothers, Howard James and Hershel "Turk James, both of Scottsboro; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Everett T. Lake
ARAB - Everett Thomas Lake, 74, of 5000 County Road 1763 died Sunday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Warrior Creek Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery with Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Lake; one daughter, Barbara Willis of Georgia; two sons, Bruce Lake and Tommy Lake, both of Arab; one sister, Jean Casto of West Virginia; one brother, Dewey Lake of West Virginia; and seven grandchildreny.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Brandi L. Martin
PISGAH - Brandi Lea Martin, 21, died Sunday in Opelika. The funeral will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Scott Patterson officiating.
Burial will be in Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Henagar.
Survivors include her husband, Timothy Dakota Martin of Pisgah; one son, Dustin Tyler Martin of Pisgah; her parents, Edwin Paul and Roman Lynn Brown of Pisgah; three brothers, Edwin Keith Brown, Larry Dale Brown and Eric Wade Brown, all of Pisgah; grandmother, Geneva Jo Hall of Pisgah; and one nephew.
Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lemma M. Milam
MADISON - Lemma M. Milam, 96, of 1464 Hughes Road died Monday at a local hospital. Madison Chapel Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ann Hughes of Madison.

Richard Moore
Deacon Richard "Buck" Moore, 88, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Timothy M. Rainey officiating.
Burial will be in Indian Creek Cemetery with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Moore was a deacon and trustee at Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Bernard Moore of Columbus, Ga., and Leonard Moore of Nashville; and two grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Mae W. Nall
Mae Willa Nall, 66, of Huntsville died Sunday at her home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Sherwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Perry officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Valhalla Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Nall retired from Chrysler Corp. and was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Curtis Glenn Nall of Meridianville, the Rev. Barry Lee Nall of Robertsonville, N.C., and James Terry Nall of Meridianville; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Michael L. Richter
Michael Lynn Richter, 44, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. Valhalla Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.

Robert V. Robinson
GUNTERSVILLE - Robert Varnell Robinson, 55, died Sunday at a Birmingham hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be in New Home Cemetery in Fyffe.
Mr. Robinson was formerly of Fyffe.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Robinson; one daughter, Jana Allen of Opelika; one son, Scott Allen Robinson of Vienna, Va.; and one sister, Linda Daniels of Horn Lake, Miss.

Mrs. L.A. Sherrill
Jessie Lee Sherrill, 97, of Huntsville died Sunday in Centre. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dalton B. Styes officiating.
Burial will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Crestwood Cemetery in Gadsden with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Sherrill was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. L.A. Sherrill.
Survivors include two daughters, Annice Lera Scoggins of Huntsville and Eva Sue Jackson of Gadsden; one son, Roy Sherrill of Portland, Ore.; and five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Methodist Childrens Home in care of Holmes Street United Methodist Church.

Lucy E. Shipp
ALBERTVILLE - Lucy Elizabeth Shipp, 91, died Sunday at a Marshall County hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Albertville Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Keith Williams officiating.
Burial will be in Memory Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Shipp was a first-grade teacher at McCord Elementary School for 40 years.
Survivors include one sister, Mary Sue Shipp Roberts of Birmingham; and several nieces and nephews.

William T. Sisk
SCOTTSBORO - William Thomas "Tom Sisk, 86, died Friday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral was Sunday at First Baptist Church of Scottsboro with the Rev. Rick Stevens officiating.
Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro.
Mr. Sisk was a retired manager at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Scottsboro. He was World War II Army veteran, a member of Masonic Lodge No. 359 and the owner of Toms Cafe.
Survivors include his wife, Lalia Sisk; two daughters, Betty Esslinger and Nancy Gilliam, both of Scottsboro; and four grandchildren.

Helen Smith
DECATUR - Helen Marie Norris Smith, 71, died Monday at a Decatur hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with Jesse Estes officiating.
Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Hulen Norris of Huntsville; one daughter, Annette McGuyre Bailey of Eva; three brothers, Perry Carden and Ted Carden, both of Decatur, and Don Carden of Green sburg, Pa.; two sisters, Mattie McNeese of Pulaski, Tenn., and Gloria Lloyd of Hartselle; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charles R. Sorter
GUNTERSVILLE - Charles Richard Sorter, 78, of 3253 Sunrise Drive died Sunday at a local hospital. The graveside service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Crestview Cemetery with Carr Funeral Home of Guntersville in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Sorter; one stepson, David Cummings of Nashville; two sisters, Nell Williamson of Virginia and Betty Reeves of Anniston; and one grandchild.
