Marie C. Abel, 83, of Huntsville died today at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with the Rev. Louis Giardino officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include one sister, Lil Slattery of Huntsville; one nephew, Bart Slattery III of Atlanta; and three great-nephews and one great-niece.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A vigil will follow at 7.
Buron B. Barnes
ARDMORE, Ala. - Buron Bee Barnes, 91, of 26892 Homes St. died Monday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Dale Mitchell and the Rev. Chester Jones officiating.
Burial was to be in Hastings Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Barnes of Ardmore, Ala.; three sons, Richard Barnes of Decatur, Darby Barnes of Elkmont and Other Lee Barnes of Kansas; six daughters, Martha Autrey of Elkmont, Jean Chandler of Acworth, Ga., Annie Cross of Ardmore, Tenn., Susie Moore of Elkton, Tenn., Connie Blaydes of Athens and Linda Journey of Beech Hill, Tenn.; one sister, Elmer Massey of Elkmont; and 28 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Van A. Barnett
Van A. Barnett, 91, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ronald Boulware officiating.
Burial will be in Hickman Cemetery in Hickman, Ky.
Mr. Barnett was an educator for 44 years and helped train U.S. Navy pilots during World War II. He was the oldest living graduate of Murray State University in Murray, Ky. He was an advisor for the Boy Scouts and member of Hillsboro Heights Baptist Church and the North Alabama Region Antique Automobile Club of America.
Survivors include one son, Ronald Van Barnett of Morgan City; one brother, Paul Barnett of Gainesville, Fla.; two sisters, Geraldine Brewer of Calvert City, Ky., and Maude Cross of Oneida, Tenn.; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

MADISON - Damaris Blaha, 78, of 116 Cherry Road died Monday at a local hospital. Madison Chapel Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Stephen Blaha of Madison; two daughters, Jerry Lee Martin of Baileyton and Retha Terre of Jacksonville, Fla.; and three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Corene Busbin
Corene Busbin, 85, of Huntsville died Monday at her home. The graveside service was to be today at 2 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with James Weaver officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Olon H. Cagle
Olon Harvey Cagle, 72, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Twickenham Funeral Home East.
Burial was to be in Twickenham Memory Gardens.
Survivors include one sister, Ozell Castell of New Hope; three brothers, Leslie Cagle, Charles Kenneth Cagle and Melvin Cagle, all of New Hope; and a special friend, Sara Broad.
Henry L. Craig
Henry Linard Craig, 91, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Eugene Hudson officiating.
Burial will be in Craig Cemetery at Pleas Mount Baptist Church in Killingsworth Cove.
Mr. Craig was a lifelong resident of Madison County and was a World War II Army veteran. He retired from Redstone Arsenal and was a member of Cedar Gap Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Hudson Craig of Huntsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mary F. Dabbs
Mary F. Dabbs, 74, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. J.D. Burgess officiating.
Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery with Valhalla Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Dabbs was a native of Limestone County and a member of the West Huntsville Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Peggy Bertoldi of Huntsville, Carrie Thomas of Lynchburg, Tenn., Shirley Johnson of Madison and Wanda Glover of Laceys Spring; four sons, James T. Dabbs of Athens, Bobby L. Dabbs and Ronnie L. Dabbs, both of Huntsville, and Donnie W. Dabbs of Ardmore, Ala.; and 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Eva M. Eschenberg
Eva M. Eschenberg, 80, of Huntsville died Sunday at a Colorado hospital. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Eschenberg was a native of Burnsville, W.Va., and had lived in Huntsville 23 years. She was a graduate of Glennville State Teachers College and a member of Latham United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Kent Eschenberg of Vicksburg, Miss., and Gary Eschenberg of Colorado Springs; one brother, Robert Amos of Manington, W.Va.; three sisters, June Tucker of Canton, Ohio, Rose Barnett of West Middlesex, Pa., and Sue Keener of Fairmont, W.Va.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Latham United Methodist Church.

Nicholas S. Flynn
MADISON - Nicholas S. Flynn, 20, of Madison died Sunday at a local hospital. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mr. Flynn was a student at Eastern Kentucky University.
Survivors include his parents, James and Sandra Flynn of Madison; one sister, Amy Suzanne Flynn of Madison; grandmother, Gladys Gross of Kentucky; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

FALKVILLE - Rachel A. Hahn, 64, of Plo Road died Monday at her home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m at Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Milan Dekich officiating.
Burial will be in in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Ardmore, Ala.
Survivors include her husband, Bert Hahn of Falkville; two sons, Jeff Davis of Falkville and Dion Hahn of Nashville; one daughter, Melanie White of Falkville; one stepson, Roy Newson of Livingston, Calif.; and 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

John D. Hendrix
FYFFE - John Dewey Hendrix, 88, died Monday at a Fort Payne hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. David Martin officiating.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Audie Hendrix; one daughter, Sue Wilkins of Rainsville; one son, J.R. Hendrix of Pleasant Hill; one sister, Bessie Wilson of Ashville; and three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Susan E. Johns
ALBERTVILLE - Susan Earlene Johns, 77, died Sunday at a Marshall County hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Shelby Garden of Rest.
Albertville Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius Johns, and one son, Clifton Gable.
Survivors include six daughters, Annie Sue Sims of Aurora, Dolly Isbell, Elizabeth Bevils and Betty Pogue, all of Sylacauga, Debbie McNeil of Columbiana and Mary Biles of Florida; two sons, Tomas Gable of Albertville and Billy Pogue of Columbiana; two sisters, Becky Robinson and Blondie Freeman, both of Sylacauga; one brother, Otis Williams of Sylacauga; and 29 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Howard W. Luton
LOUDON, Tenn. - Howard William Luton, 76, died Monday at a Knoxville, Tenn., hospital. A memorial service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Tellico Village Community Church with the Rev. Marty Singley officiating. A graveside service will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. John Dees officiating.
Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City, Tenn., is in charge of burial.
Mr. Luton was a native of Erie, Pa., and a World War II veteran. He worked for the General Electric Co. for 25 years in the light military and Apollo space programs. He also worked for TVAs Nuclear Division 11 years.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Luton of Loudon; two daughters, Ann Elizabeth Hunter and Sue Ellen Vanhook, both of Huntsville; one son, William Howard Luton of Murfreesboro; his mother, Kaye Hall Luton; and three grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial donations may be made to the Tellico Village Community Church, American Cancer Society or Willowbrook Baptist Church in Huntsville.
Charles T. Markgraf
BOAZ - Charles Thomas Markgraf, 47, died Sunday at his home. The memorial service was today at 10 a.m. at Albertville Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Woodrow Franklin officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Markgraf of Boaz; one son, Phillip Markgraf of California; one daughter, Michelle McCoy of Wisconsin; two stepsons, Johnathan Nelson of Tennessee and Whit Terrell of Boaz; two stepdaughters, Brandi Myers of Crossville and Rachael Terrell of Boaz; his mother and stepfather, Arlyle and John J. Loranzo Sanders
CROW MOUNTAIN - Loranzo ''Pete Sanders, 64, died Sunday at a Scottsboro hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Skyline Funeral Home.
Burial was to be in Austell Cemetery on Crow Mountain.
Mr. Sanders was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in the Korean War and was an iron worker.
Survivors include one daughter, Melinda Chapman of Skyline; one sister, Edith Baker of Gadsden; four brothers, Lee Sanders, Samuel Sanders and Erby Sanders, all of Skyline, and John Sanders of Crow Mountain; and one granddaughter.
Paula A. Starling
Paula Ann Starling, 52, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. Spry Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Starling was a native of South Carolina and had lived in Huntsville seven years. She was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Hal Starling of Huntsville; one daughter, Jennifer Starling of Huntsville; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bailey of Charlotte, N.C.; one sister, Karen Cobb of Knoxville, Tenn.; and two granddaughters.
Andrew J. Swinford
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Andrew Jackson "Jack" Swinford, 58, of 72 Marty Road died Sunday at his home. The graveside service was today at 11 a.m. at Prosperity Cemetery with Bro. Burt Watkins officiating.
Higgins Funeral Home was in charge of burial.
Mr. Swinford was a native of Lincoln County and a former pipe fitter for the Fayetteville Water Department.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Bartlett Swinford of Fayetteville; one daughter, Christi Thompson of Fayetteville; one son, Paul Andrew Swinford of Fayetteville; one brother, Cleveland Swinford of Fayetteville; five sisters, Evelyn Robinson of Copperas Cove, Texas, Delia Norwood of Nashville, Esteria Currin of Fayetteville, Sue Watson of Petersburg and Hazel Towry of Michigan; and two grandchildren.

GURLEY - Ben Giles Tipton Sr., 64, died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at noon at Spry Funeral Home chapel with James Ashworth officiating.
Burial will be in Gurley City Cemetery.
Mr. Tipton was a native of Madison County and worked at Machine Craft. He was also an Air Force veteran and a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by one son, Ben Giles Tipton Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Tipton of Gurley; one daughter, Tammy Lee Tipton of Gurley; three sons, Barry G. Tipton of New Market and Roy Allen Tipton and Cody Wayne Tipton, both of Gurley; one sister, Tula Winkler of Fort Payne; two brothers, Harvey Tipton Jr. of Owens Cross Roads and Lemuel Franklin Tipton of Huntsville; and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be today from 3:30 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Shirley F. Trimew
HOLLYWOOD - Shirley Faye Trimew, 59, died Thursday. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. W.M. Tibbs officiating.
Burial will be in Old Baptist Cemetery in Hollywood with Rudder Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Trimew was a knitting operator.
Survivors include three daughters, Genise Evans, Angela Trimew and Carol Trimew, all of Hollywood; her mother, Ida Mae Coffey of Hollywood; five sisters, Betty Cothron and Gladys Wright, both of Hollywood, Jacklane Evans of New Britain, Conn., Gwen Mauldin of Windsor, Conn., and Reba Stewart of Scottsboro; two brothers, Carl Stewart of Hollywood and Grady Stewart of New Britain, Conn.; and 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

ARAB - James Gavin Wood Jr., 72, of 2837 Maple Hill Road died Sunday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Brookwood Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Wood; one daughter, Nancy Ward of Huntsville; one son, Mark Wood of Huntsville; one stepdaughter, Trillis Causey of Boaz; two stepsons, Rick Daniels and Luke Daniels, both of Arab; one sister, Jane Boling of Memphis; and two grandchildren.
