Doris M. Baker
Doris McDonald Baker, 67, of Huntsville died Thursday at her home. The funeral will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home with Steve Petty and Rick Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Baker was retired from the Huntsville City School System where she worked for 27 years. She was the registrar at Butler High School before retiring. She was also a volunteer at the Huntsville-Madison County Botanical Garden and a member of Sherwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, William Craft Baker; two sons, William Craft Baker Jr. and Ronnie Baker, both of Huntsville; one daughter, Mary Lynne Baker Wright of Huntsville; three brothers, Charles McDonald, Jimmy McDonald and S.O. McDonald, all of Huntsville; two sisters, Eloise Propst of Huntsville and Ann Hughey of Mississippi; and seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Richard H. Bates
Richard H. Bates, 86, of Huntsville died today at a local nursing home. The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at First Christian Church with Drs. Harold Dowler and John Jackson officiating.
Mr. Bates was a member of the First Christian Church and the Blue and Gray Rifle and Pistol clubs, an Army veteran of World War II, a retired engineer for Teledyne-Brown Engineering and a former member of the National Rifle Association.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecelia M. Bates.
Survivors include his daughter, Carol Ann Bates of Huntsville; two sisters, Thelma Bumgardner of Belleville, Ill., and Marjorie Starr of Titusville, Fla.; and one niece and one nephew.
Visitation will be today from noon to 1 p.m. at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to the church memorial fund, 3209 Whitesburg Drive, Huntsville 35802.

Mable Bridgeman
RAINSVILLE - Mable Bridgeman, 86, died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Lamar Bobo officiating.
Burial will be in Mountain View Memory Gardens.
Survivors include one brother, Roy O. Bobo of Rainsville; and three sisters, Idell Hull of Bessmer, Imogene Pike of Rainsville and Helen Baker of Duluth, Ga.

Peggy L. Carlisle
NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. - Peggy Louise Carlisle, 65, of 20th Ave. died Wednesday. The graveside service will be today at 1 p.m. at Concord Church Cemetery in New Market with the Rev. Howard E. Lafevor officiating.
Gallant Funeral Home of Hazel Green is in charge of burial.
She was a native of Madison County and for several years was a member of West Huntsville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Harold W. Carlisle of New Smyrna Beach; one daughter, Debra Cline of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; two sons, Mark A. Carlisle of New Market and Tommy Carlisle of Huntsville; her mother, Alverene Campbell Satterfield of New Market; one brother, R. Dean Campbell of New Market; and three grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32119.

William Chapple III
HARTSELLE - William Edward ''Bill Chapple III, 63, died Friday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Revs. Tim Lejurne and Tom Weaver officiating.
Burial will be in Bethlehem West Cemetery.
Mr. Chapple was a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church in Huntsville. He was an electrical engineer at Redstone Arsenal.
Survivors include his wife, Dean Chapple; four sons, Mike Chapple and Tim Chapple, both of Rockmart, Ga., Malcolm Waddell and Lynn Waddell, both of Hartselle; one daughter, Mary Ledford of Madison; one brother, Albert Chapple of Baton Rouge, La.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

James A. Dunn
STEVENSON - James Albert Dunn, 52, died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson with Revs. Mayburn Guess and John W. McCann officiating.
Burial will be in Cawfield Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl Dunn; one daughter, Mary Joann Walters of Jasper, Tenn.; three sons, Steven Dunn, Stacy Dunn and Eric Dunn, all of Stevenson; one sister, Sady Adams of Stevenson; two brothers, Vernon Dunn of Stevenson and Aubrey Dunn of Hollywood; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Joshua L. Galloway
Joshua Logan Galloway, 4, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 10:30 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Bishop Brian Layton officiating.
Burial will be in Frog Pond Cemetery in Franklin County.
He was a native of Huntsville.
Survivors include his parents, Sam and Sherry Galloway of Huntsville; two sisters, Cherie Sodan and Chelsea Galloway, both of Huntsville; one brother, Jeremy Stogsdill of Huntsville; his grandparents, Patricia Jappeson of Eagle Creek, Ore., and William Ruple of Amory, Miss.; and his great-grandmother, Lucile Faulkner of Klamath Falls, Ore.

Jody A. Harbin
ATHENS - Jody Alan Harbin, 17, died Friday at a Birmingham hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Terry officiating.
Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Harbin was a student at East Limestone High School and a member of the football team. He was nominated for Distinguished American High School Student and was King of the Prom at East Limestone.
Survivors include his parents, Jack and Janie Harbin of Athens; one brother, Jackie Aaron Harbin of Harvest; his grandparents, Reba Sarah Pitts of Athens and Ada Pearl Harbin of Huntsville; and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m.
Donations may be made to the Quarterback Club at East Limestone High School.

Rosie V. Harwell
ARDMORE, Tenn. - Rosie V. Harwell, 78, died Thursday at an area hospital. The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Roland Hills Cemetery.
Mrs. Harwell was a native of Lincoln County. She was a retired seamstress for Serbin Fashions and member of Prospect Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Roger Swinford of Ardmore; one brother, Robert Moore of Nashville; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Bethany G. Hudson
ARAB - Bethany Grace Hudson, infant daughter of Dave and Kim Hudson of Arab, died June 5 at a Huntsville hospital. A graveside service was June 6 at Gilliam Springs Cemetery with Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Other survivors include one sister, Hannah Hudson of Arab; grandparents, John and Dot Henley of Albertville and Glenn and Rita Hudson of California; and great-grandmother, Rose Mandella of Pennsylvania.

Billy J. McCurley
Billy Joe McCurley, 61, of Huntsville died Thursday at his home. The funeral will be today at 10 a.m. at Madison Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Skip Babcock officiating.
Burial will be in Madison City Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Faye McCurley; three daughters, Rhonda Jo Kelly of Anniston, Brenda Jo Blair of Christiana, Tenn., and Andrea Felicia Pinkerton of Rockvale, Tenn.; one son, Glenn King of New Market; three brothers, Jimmy McCurley of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Paul Randolph of Town Creek and Pete Randolph of Capshaw; and six grandchildren.

Johnny J. Myers Jr.
Johnny J. Myers Jr., 61, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. No funeral is planned.
Valhalla Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Myers was an Army veteran and a native of Scottsboro.
Survivors include two sisters, Jean Mavity of Michigan and June Carter of Huntsville; and one brother, Stanley L. Myers of Huntsville.

Henry D. Nelson
EVA - Henry Delone Nelson, 69, of 285 Patton Road died Friday at his home. The funeral will be Sunday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Vincent officiating.
Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery in Falkville.
Mr. Nelson was a deacon at Mount Carmel Baptist Church. He was an Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Jewel Alexander Nelson; three sons, Sammy Nelson of Oden Ridge, Stanley Nelson of Somerville and Mark Nelson of Tuscaloosa; one daughter, Ellen Nelson Neal of Falkville; one brother, J.W. Nelson of Athens; one sister, Latheda Gentry of Price ville; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Willie C. Pack
MADISON - Willie Claborne ''W.C. Pack, 82, died Friday at a Selma hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Wiesman officiating.
Burial will be in Madison City Cemetery.
Mr. Pack was a native of Smithville, Tenn., and was a longtime resident of Limestone and Madison counties. He was retired from Huntsville Utilities.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys H. Pack; three daughters, Ruth Craig of Nashville, Mary Paxton of Madison and Martha Dalton of Selma; two sons, Tom Pack and Roger Pack, both of Madison; one brother, Hershel Pack of Sheperdsville; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Thermon Seay
ALBERTVILLE - Thermon Seay, 67, of 3170 Alabama 75 died Friday at his home. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Survivors include a special friend, Anita Kilgore of Albertville; one daughter, Vickie Lowden of Albertville; three sons, Carl Seay, Randy Seay and Ricky Seay, all of Albertville; one sister, Jean Benefield of Glencoe; two brothers, Fred Seay of Cullman and Billy Seay of Texas; and seven grandchildren.

Gene Smith
Gene Smith, 81, of Huntsville died Friday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Dr. William H. Bostick Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Smith was a school teacher and vocational education supervisor for 42 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Don Smith of New Market; one daughter, Mary Jane Smith of Huntsville; and three step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to First United Methodist Church or to a favorite charity.

Phillip R. Smith
LYNCHBURG, Tenn. - Phillip R. Smith, 70, died Friday at a Lynchburg nursing home. The funeral will be Saturday at noon at Lynchburg Cemetery.
Jennings Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mr. Smith wrote for The Moore County News for several years. He was formerly of Huntsville and had worked at the Huntsville News. He was a University of Alabama graduate and a Korean War veteran.
Survivors include two brothers, Bill Smith and Leamon Smith, both of Gadsden.

Ruby C. Smith
Ruby C. Smith, 84, of Huntsville died Friday at a local hospital. Madison Chapel Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Survivors include one grandson, James Hampton; and several nieces and nephews.

Chantry L. Sumners
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Chantry Layne Sumners, 17, died Thursday at a Bedford County hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Graham officiating.
Burial will be in Center Point Cemetery.
Mr. Sumners was a student and member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Christine Jett Sumners of Fayetteville; one sister, Sharon Louise Mierjiwski of Gautier, Miss.; four brothers, Charles Kerry Sumners of Athens, Charlie Thomas Sumners, Christopher Cody Sumners and Colby Wayne Sumners, all of Fayetteville; his grandmothers, Purmie Sumners of Fayetteville and Mary Katherine Jett of Shelbyville.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charles H.. Sumners
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Charles Henry Sumners, 60, died Thursday at a Bedford County hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Graham officiating.
Burial will be in Center Point Cemetery.
Mr. Sumners was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. He was a machine operator for National Pen Co.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Jett Sumners; one daughter, Sharon Louise Mierjiwski of Gautier, Miss.; four sons, Charles Kerry Sumners of Athens, Charlie Thomas Sumners, Christopher Cody Sumners and Colby Wayne Sumners, all of Fayetteville; his mother, Purmie Sumners of Fayetteville; two sisters, Essie Milles of Petersburg, Tenn. and Argie Simmons of Wheel, Tenn.; two brothers, John Sumners of Fayetteville and Jimmy Sumners of Mulberry, Tenn.; one foster brother, Gary Gearhart of Mulberry; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

David B. Waller
David Bruce Waller, 43, of Huntsville died Thursday at his home. The graveside service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Valhalla Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Travaglione officiating.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of burial arrangements.
Mr. Waller had lived in Huntsville since 1984 and was retired from the Army.
Survivors include two daughters, Monica Waller and Amanda Waller, both of Huntsville; his father, Carol D. Waller of Huntsville; and two grandchildren.

Willie P. Weaver
CROSSVILLE - William Pricen Weaver, 81, died Thursday at an area hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Gilbreath Chapel Baptist Church with the Revs. Tommy Mashburn and Jerry Tidwell officiating.
Mr. Weaver was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Weaver and two sons, Cleveland Weaver and David Weaver.
Burial will be in Buelah Cemetery with W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel in charge.
Survivors include six daughters, Loretta Williams of Boaz, Lenda Jones, Hazel Hancock, Classa Thacker, Leona Phillips and Reba Weaver, all of Crossville; two sons, Ronald Weaver and Timmy Weaver, both of Crossville; one brother, Charlie Weaver of Geraldine; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
