John A. Coryell
John Andrew Coryell, 67, of Huntsville died Thursday at a lo- cal hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Locust Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Robert White officiating.
Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery with Valhalla Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Coryell was a deacon at Locust Grove Baptist Church and was a former delegate to the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. He was a board member for the Starwish Foundation and was active in the Special Olympics and the Food Share program. He was also a reading volunteer at church and at public schools. He retired from the Marines after 28 years and served in the Korean and Vietnam wars.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Coryell of Huntsville; two sons, Randall Coryell of Atlanta and David Coryell of Huntsville; two daughters, Robin Gardner and Jan Coryell-Mahone, both of Huntsville; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2:30 to 3 p.m. at the church.
Audrey V. Cromer
CENTRE - Audrey Van Cromer, 88, died Friday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Perry Funeral Home chapel with Revs. John Allen and Hayward Clark officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Cromer was a native of Wood County, Texas, and was a member of East Center Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Billy Bradley of Centre; one daughter, Delight Abernathy of Leesburg; two stepsons, Felmon Cromer Jr. of Spring Garden and David Cromer of Gadsden; two brothers, Gene Shirley and Verdale Shirley, both of Fort Payne; three sisters, Mae Bradley of Boaz, Ruth Lavine of Huntsville and Bell Nelson of Dayton, Ohio; and 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the the funeral home.
John W. Elsea Jr.
John W. Elsea Jr., 70, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a local hospital. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Mr. Elsea was retired civil service from Redstone Arsenal and the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Elsea; one son, Paul Elsea of Falkville; two daughters, Barbara Swanson of Atlanta and JoAnn Milam of Germantown, Tenn.; three stepdaughters, Terry Adcock and Phyllis Carman, both of Huntsville and Susan Wynne of Texas; and 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
James C. Gillilan
ALTOONA - James Clarence Gillilan, 85, of Altoona died Thursday at a Oneonta hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Wynnville Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Carr Funeral Home of Boaz in charge.
Survivors include two sons, James E. Gillilan of Oneonta and Larry P. Gillilan of Altoona; one sister, Melba J. Hogan of Tuscaloosa; two brothers, Wilburn Gillilan of Altoona and Billy Gillilan of Florida; and 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Danny L. Hardy
ATHENS - Danny Lee Hardy, 40, of 16244 Huntsville Browns Ferry Road died Thursday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Kasey Harbin and Kim Harbin officiating.
Burial will be in Hardy Cemetery.
Mr. Hardy was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his mother, Louise Hardy of Athens; four sisters, Joyce Harbin, Reba Adams, and Vicky Cockrell, all of Athens, and Sherry Kay Hardy of Decatur; two brothers, Gilbert Hardy and Benton Hardy, both of Athens.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Susie J. Holder
MAYSVILLE - Susie Jane Holder, 54, died Wednesday at her home. The funeral will be today at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Woody Harbin and Earl Holder officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Holder was a lifelong Madison County resident.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Calvin Lee Holder of Maysville; one son, Calvin Holder Jr. of Maysville; one sister, Nellie Mae Sisk of Gurley; and two brothers, Wilford Levoid Sisk of Meridianville and J.C. Sisk of Gurley.
Dorothy L. McNeal
HAZEL GREEN - Dorothy L. McNeal, 75, died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 3:30 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Carey Johnson and L.E. Wright officiating.
Burial will be in Stateline Cemetery.
Mrs. McNeal was a native of Madison County and a member of Stateline United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Cecil McNeal; one daughter, Becky Whitt of Hazel Green ; two sons, Larry McNeal of Huntsville and David McNeal of Hazel Green ; one sister, June Towry of New Market; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Sally H. Mitchell
ARAB - Sally H. Mitchell, 83, of Arab died Wednesday in a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at New Friendship Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Gober Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include one daughter, Janis Blackman of Arab; one son, Guinn Mitchell of Arab; two sisters, Dollie Smith of Arab and Della Mills of Albertville; and three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Jackie D. Sharp
Jackie Dale Sharp, 45, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 10 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Mout Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Sharp was a 1972 Sparkman High School graduate. He worked at Fox Army Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Moon Sharp of Huntsville; one son, Justin Dale Sharp of Madison; one daughter, Jennifer Louise Sharp of Madison; one brother, Curtis W. Sharp Jr. of Huntsville; one sister, Jean Randolph of Madison; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the Jackie Sharp Memorial Fund in care of Sparkman High School.
Maudie H. Smith
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Maudie Howell Smith, 76, of 326 Prospect Road died Thursday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at McCauley Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Wright officiating.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Lincoln County and member of Howell Church of Christ. Before retiring she worked as a butcher for 20 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Arden Humphrey of Fayetteville; two sons, Richard C. Smith of Hilliard, Ohio, and Michael R. Smith of Irmo, S.C.; one sister, Doris Delap of Fayetteville; two brothers, Weldon Howell and Don Stanley Howell, both of Fayetteville; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and two nieces.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Josie M. Venable
HOLLYWOOD - Mrs. Josie McAllister Venable, 55, died Thursday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at the Scottsboro Funeral Home with the Rev. Aubrey Pockrus officiating.
Burial will be in Inglis Cemetery.
Mrs. Venable was preceded in death by one sister, Joan Pritchett.
Survivors include her husband, Leonard Venable; one daughter, Shelia Clopp of Huntsville; two sons, Rodney Venable and Dale Venable, both of Scottsboro; her parents, Samuel Hez and Louise Tidwell McAllister of Scottsboro; one sister, Martha Dodson of Hollywood; three brothers, Samuel A. McAllister, Clarence McAllister and Robert McAllister, all of Scottsboro; and four grandchildren.
