Elbert Bishop
GADSDEN - Elbert Bishop, 75, of 215 Rawls Ave. died Friday. A graveside service will be held today at 3 p.m. at Smiths Chapel Cemetery with Carr Funeral Home of Boaz directing.
Survivors include two sisters, Floyce Reece of Michigan and Inez Gaines of Boaz; and one brother, John Bishop of Boaz.
Elsie F. Brewer
Elsie Florence Brewer, 91, of Huntsville died Saturday at her home. A graveside service will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Bro. Lee Moore officiating.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Rosson Brewer.
Survivors include five sons, Junior T. Brewer of Somerville, Whitney S. Brewer of New Market, Ray Brewer of Virginia, and Dennis R. Brewer and Bobby W. Brewer, both of Huntsville; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Granville Q. Freeman
Granville Quinton Freeman, 76, of Huntsville died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Pastor John Lemmons officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Freeman was a native of Oklahoma and a longtime resident of Madison County. He was owner and operator of Freeman Insurance Agency and member of the College Park Church of God.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sarah Brooks and one son, Douglas Freeman.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Freeman; two daughters, Brenda Short and Phyllis Brown, both of Chattanooga; two sons, Dewayne Freeman of Montgomery and David Freeman of Chattanooga; and three sisters, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 3 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ruby G. Johnson
Ruby Gertrude Johnson, 73, of Huntsville died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Mack McCutcheon officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Morgan County and a lifelong resident of Madison County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Earl Johnson.
Survivors include four daughters, Barbara Grant of New Market, Gail Albright of Moultrie, Ga., Frances Wilburn of Huntsville and Gertrude Rakestraw of Denver; one son, Charles Brand of Huntsville; one sister, Betty Ruthingram of Huntsville; and 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 4:30 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Winnie Karrh
ATHENS - Winnie Karrh, 88, of 1319 Lisa Lane died Thursday at a local nursing home. A graveside service was held Saturday at Mitchell Memorial (Rock Springs) Cemetery in Mount Hope with the Rev. William Hacker officiating and McConnell Funeral Home in charge.
Miss Karrh was a native of Lawrence County and after moving to Texas relocated here in 1993.
Survivors include 14 nieces and four nephews.
Louise Katz
GUNTERSVILLE - Louise Katz, 90, of 1721 Sunset Drive died Saturday at her home. The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Williams Catholic Church.
Burial will be in Marshall Memorial Garden with Carr Funeral in charge.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Katz; one son, David Katz of New Jersey; and two grandchildren.
A rosary will be today at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
William S. Makowsky
William S. Makowsky, 88, of Huntsville died Friday at his home. A memorial service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Drs. William Cockrill and Mel Strain officiating.
Burial will be in Panama City, Fla., with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Makowsky was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was retired from the military and was a member of the Scottish Rites.
Survivors include his wife, Grace P. Makowsky; one son, William Steven Makowsky of Huntsville; one daughter, Karen M. Nichols of Huntsville; and two granddaughters and one great-grandson.
Donations may be made to Hospice Family Care or First Presbyterian Church.
Beulah S. Meek
Beulah S. Meek, 91, of Huntsville died Friday at a local nursing home. A graveside service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Bro. Lem Tipton officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Meek was a longtime resident of Huntsville and member of Mayfair Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Carl B. Smith Jr. and Bill Smith, both of Huntsville; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cordia B. Merrill
Cordia B. Merrill, 91, of Huntsville died Friday at a local nursing home. A graveside service will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Chattanooga with Paul Davis officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of burial arrangements.
Survivors include one sister, Eva B. Kennedy of Coral Gables, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Myrtle Mozley
ALBERTVILLE - Myrtle Mozley, 79, of 1009 Flower St. died Friday at her home. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Marshall Memorial Garden.
Survivors include one son, Edsel Mozley of Albertville; one sister, Lucille Mozley of Brookland; one brother, Floyd Smith of Albertville; and one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Flora Riggins
Flora Ashton Cheyenne Riggins, infant daughter of Tammy N. Riggins, died Thursday at a local hospital. A graveside service will be today at 3 p.m. at Valhalla Memory Gardens with the Rev. Glenn Smith officiating.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Other survivors include one sister, Kristy Taylor of Huntsville; her godparents, Ricky and Sherry Taylor of Huntsville; and her grandparents, William and Geneva Taylor of Huntsville, and Ammonel Kimbrough of Athens.
Visitation will be at the home at 6967 Moores Mill Road until 2 p.m. today.
