Mary Amason
ELORA, Tenn. - Mary Gladys Counts Amason, 88, of Flintville School House Road died today at a Tennessee nursing home. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Amason, the Rev. Donnie Amason and the Rev. Cleve Bell officiating.
Burial will be in Flintville Cemetery.
Mrs. Amason was a native of Lincoln County, Tenn., a homemaker and a member of Flintville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one son, Joe Amason.
Survivors include two daughters, Shelby McKee of Flintville and Venna Russell of Xenia, Ohio; four sons, Harold "Doc" Amason of Fayetteville, Tenn., J.B. Amason and Donnie Amason, both of Flintville, and Robert Earl Amason of Lebanon, Tenn.; and 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Angel S. Appleton
Angel Shuthunder Amanda Appleton, 13, of Huntsville died Friday at a Birmingham hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Horton Temple Church of God.
Burial was to be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro with Rudder Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include her mother, Sybrina Amanda Appleton of Huntsville; one sister, Shaniqua Appleton of Huntsville; grandparents, Billie Appleton of Huntsville, Morra Austin of South Carolina and Jimmy Griffin of Guntersville; and great-grandmother, Sarah Appleton of Scottsboro.

Jim H. Atkins
DECATUR - Jim Henry "Dynamite" Atkins, 88, died Monday at a Decatur hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home in Decatur with the Rev. Wendell Shirley officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Atkins was a demolition expert for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and a member of Sandlin Road Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include one son, James Atkins of Decatur; two daughters, Betty Cambpell of Nashville and Rebecca Alred of Sylacauga; and 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Audrey N. Barber
ATHENS - Audrey Nell Barber, 91, of 611 West Market St. died Sunday at a local nursing home. A graveside service was to be today at 2 p.m. at Athens City Cemetery with Don Osborne and Bob Stegall officiating.
McConnell Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mrs. Barber was a native of Limestone County, retired from Southern Bell Telephone Co. with 31 years of employment and was a member of Market Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter, Edith B. Elliott of Athens; one grandson, James Bryan Elliott II of Tuscaloosa; one great-grandson, James Bryan Elliott III of Winchester, Va.; and nieces and nephews.

William S. Brown
William Scott Brown, 68, of Huntsville died Monday at his home. The graveside service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Eddie Levick officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Survivors include his wife, Winniver C. Brown of Huntsville; one daughter, Tracey Johnson of Huntsville; three sons, Jeff Brown of Huntsville, Gary Brown of Fort Smith, Ark., and Kent Brown of Montgomery; and seven granddaughters.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bedie A. Dollar
ARDMORE, Tenn. - Bedie Adaline Dollar, 84, died Sunday at an Ardmore, Tenn., nursing home. The funeral was to be today at 3 p.m. at Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home with Bros. Chester Jones and Bobby Gates officiating.
Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, David Dollar of Fayetteville, Tenn.; one sister, Osoline Dollar of Ardmore, Ala.; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Frank J. Dombik
BOAZ - Frank John Dombik, 79, of 401 Woodley Terrace died Sunday at a Birmingham hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Boaz.
Burial was to be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Dombik; and one sister, Frances Phillips of New York.

Taffy Franklin
FLINTVILLE, Tenn. - Taffy Franklin, 91, of Myrick Road died Sunday at a Fayetteville, Tenn., hospital. the funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Prosperity Cemetery with the Rev. Carlos Beddingfield officiating.
Gallant Funeral Home in Fayetteville is in charge of burial.
Mrs. Franklin was a native of Lincoln County, Tenn., a member of Crystal Springs Church of God and a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Tucker of Kelso, Tenn., and Dolly Bates of Flintville; three sons, James Franklin, Billy Joe Franklin and Bobby Joe Franklin, all of Kelso; one sister, Delia Johnson of Kelso; and 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Noella H. Garner
Noella Headden Garner, 85, of Huntsville died Sunday. The funeral will be Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Cool Springs Cemetery in Cool Springs, Tenn. A memorial service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Memphis Theological Seminary.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Garner was a longtime Memphis resident and a Bethel College graduate. She served as moderator of the Memphis Presbytey and was a member of the Board of Foreign Missions and the Board of Trustees of the Memphis Theological Seminary. She was president of the local Church Women United and was an original board member of the Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse B. Garner Jr.
Survivors include two daughters, Lela Garner Noble of Palo Alto, Calif., and Joella Garner McManus of Huntsville; two sons, Jesse B. Garner III of Birmingham and Albert Headden Garner of New York City; and one sister, Melba Headden Johnsonius of Paris, Tenn.
Memorial donations may be made to the Memphis Theological Seminary.

Howard D. Hall
Howard David Hall, 66, of Huntsville died Sunday at his home. The memorial service will be Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel.
Mr. Hall was a native of Michigan and had lived in Huntsville four years. He worked for NASA six years and worked on the Hubble Space Telescope and AXAF projects. He was a graduate of The University of Michigan and the University of Rochester in New York, studied mathematics and chemical engineering and earned a masters degree in optical engineering. He was also a Navy veteran and was active in the Boys Scouts of America.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene D. Hall of Huntsville; three sons, David B. Hall of Burke, Va., Benjamin Hall of Houston and Jonathan D. Hall of Washington D.C.; one sister, Peggy Hall of Potomac, Md.; and two grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Huntsville/Madison County Botanical Garden Society, 4747 Bob Wallace Ave., Huntsville, 35805.

William H. Hooten
William Herman Hooten, 73, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The memorial service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Holly Pond with the Rev. Grady Patterson officiating.
Burial will be in Holly Pond Cemetery with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Hooten was born in Birmingham and lived in Huntsville 44 years. He worked for the U.S. Army Missile Command for 22 years.
Survivors include his wife, Hanna Richter Hooten of Huntsville; three daughters, Dee Anne Stoyle of Atlanta and Judy McBride and Kimberly Jean deJesus, both of Huntsville; one brother, Leldon M. Hooten of Birmingham; two sisters, Jean Hooten Stisher of Arab and Betty Hooten Leeth Haynes of Hanceville; and five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lila Jancha
BUDA, Texas - Lila "Mickie" Jancha, 67, died Friday, July 2. The funeral was Monday, July 5, at Harrell Funeral Home in Austin, Texas, with Pastor Mark Porterfield officiating.
Mrs. Jancha lived in Huntsville from 1951 to 1964, when she moved to Houston. She had lived in Buda since 1981. She was a registered nurse. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronnie Driver.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Jancha of Buda; four sons, Tim Driver of Houston and Randall Driver, Billy Jancha and David Jancha, all of Austin; one daughter, Karen Driver Klebs of Buda; several sisters, including Barbara Ann Arnold Gardiner of Huntsville; and five grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Buda United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1196, Buda, Texas 78610.

Lora E. Lesley
BOAZ - Lora Ellen Lesley, 82, of Boaz died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Albertville.
Burial will be in Solitude Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Janie Hyde of Boaz; four sons, Hugh Lesley of Kilpatrick, Hershel Lesley and Ray Lesley, both of Boaz, and Gary Lesley of Albertville; and 29 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

William S. Peppler
DECATUR - William Stuart Peppler, 72, of 4313 Autumn Leaves Trail Southeast died Sunday at his home. The graveside service was to be today at 2 p.m. at Hartselle Cemetery with the Rev. Buddy Champion officiating.
Peck Funeral Home of Hartselle is in charge of burial.
Mr. Peppler was a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a wounded veteran of World War II, an employee and board member of Diamond International, and retired from Chore Time.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Sample Peppler; his mother, Marie Peppler of Jacobus, Pa.; two sons, Matt Peppler of Venice, Calif., and Charles Peppler of Boxford, Maine; three stepsons, Chet Murphree of Decatur, Atlee Murphree of Hartselle and Van Murphree of Birmingham; one daughter, Jane Peppler of Chapel Hill, N.C.; three stepdaughters, Patti Long of Hartselle, Lila Murphree of New Orleans and Joy Owen of Pensacola; two sisters, Marian Brodbeck of Jacobus, Pa., and Helen Schaffer of York, Pa., and 12 grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Leukemia Society of America, 600 Third Ave., New York, NY 10016.

Fred R. Raney
ATHENS - Fred R. Raney, 84, of Elkton Road died Sunday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home in Athens with James Adams and Jack Freeman officiating.
Burial was to be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Raney was a native of Limestone County, a member of West Highland Baptist Church, an Army veteran and former owner and operator of Hatfield Lake.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret P. Raney; two sons, Travis E. Raney and Douglas B. Raney, both of Athens; one daughter, Joanna R. Davis of Athens; and six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the West Highland Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 481, Athens, 35612.

Henry L. Williams
MADISON - Henry L. ''Hank Williams, 62, died Sunday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Green brier Baptist Church with Jack Zimmer and Ed Richards officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens with Spry Funeral Home in Athens in charge.
Mr. Williams was a member of Green brier Baptist Church, in the Army Reserves for 15 years and was an employee of Toko America.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah M. Williams; his father, Delbert Williams of Athens; four
sons, Jeff Williams of Athens, Michael Williams of Norfolk, Va., and Don Williams and Jason Williams, both of Huntsville; one daughter, Dale Williams of Rock Hill, S.C.; two sisters, Gertrude Odell of Curwensville, Pa., and Sue Baker of Brush, Colo.; and nine grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Green briar Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.

Steven D. Woods
Steven Dale Woods, 46, of Huntsville died Sunday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Terry Thomas officiating.
Burial will be in Valhermoso Springs Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Angel Nichole Woods of Laceys Spring; one sister, Marjorie Gayle Howard of Laceys Spring; two brothers, Benny Carl Woods of Union Grove and Danny S. Woods of Somerville; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

George O. Yates
SECTION - George Olen Yates, 85, died Sunday at a Jackson County hospital. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. M.D. Bryant, the Rev. Amos McCutcheon, the Rev. Hubert Wilborn and the Rev. Eskel Wilborn officiating.
Burial will be in Haigwood Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Burma Wilborn Yates of Section; one sister, Lorean Fleming of Buchannann, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
