Mable H. Blue
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Mable Hopkins Blue, 85, of 2 Garden Lane died Friday at her home. The funeral will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Revs. Ronnie Gay and Bob Dunnivan officiating.
Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery.
Mrs. Blue was a native of Decatur. She was a retired presser with Kingston Dress, a member of Prospect Baptist Church and the American Legion.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Andrew Hopkins and Louis F. Blue Sr.
Survivors include three daughters, Jean Parks of Taft, Tenn., Juanita Grissom of Petersburg, Tenn., and Loretta Nichols Henson of Lewisburg, Tenn.; one son, Luther Hopkins of Taft; two sisters, Martha P. Hargrove of Huntsville and Bobbie Glover of Vilonia, Ark.; two stepsons, Louis E. Blue Jr. and Kim Blue, both of Dublin, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Carol Smith and Cindy Blue, both of Dublin; and 22 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Annie L. Brown
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Annie Lucille Brown, 85, of 162 Simmons Circle died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Gay officiating.
Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was a native of Lincoln County, Tenn., a homemaker and a member of Prospect Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Buford W. Brown of Fayetteville; one son, Jerry W. Brown of Fayetteville; two sisters, Alma Magnusson and Bernice Bailey, both of Ardmore; and two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Philip A. Burns
Philip Alan Burns, infant son of David and Marie Burns of Huntsville, died Friday at a local hospital. A private service is planned with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Other survivors include one sister, Emma Nichole Burns of Huntsville; his paternal grandparents, Samuel and Rebecca Burns of Huntsville; and his maternal grandparents, Ed and Nell Dupree of Huntsville.
Visitation will be today from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at First Christian Church.

James H. Chunn Sr.
CHATTANOOGA - James Henry Chunn Sr., 69, died Wednesday at his home. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne L. Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery with Taylor Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Chunn was a manager for Ace Hardware for 27 years and a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one son, James Chunn Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Bernice Chunn of Chattanooga; two daughters, Veronica B. Chunn and Gwendolyn D. Chunn, both of Huntsville; one son, Jeffrey B. Chunn of Chattanooga; two sisters, Lettie Clark and Willie Ellison, both of Huntsville; two brothers, Clifford Chunn and Ernest Chunn, both of Huntsville; and 10 grandchildren.
Jonathon M. Driver
GREAT LAKES, Ill. - Jonathon Matthew Driver, 29, died July 7. The funeral will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. Joel McGraw officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Drive was a former resident of Huntsville. He taught air traffic control for the Army in Great Lakes. He was a graduate of Huntsville High School and graduated with honors from UAH and the U.S. Navy Military Training School.
Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Driver of Huntsville; one son, Michael Driver of Huntsville; his parents, Richard Driver Sr. and Michelle Driver of Huntsville; three brothers, Robert Driver of Alexandria, Michael Driver and Richard Driver Jr., both of Huntsville; his maternal grandmother, Mildred Draper of Huntsville; and his paternal grandparents, Robert Driver Sr. and Mamie Driver of Huntsville.
Visitation is today from 4:30 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mary C. Ellenberger
COUNCIL BLUFF, Iowa - Mary Catherine Ellenberger, 82, of Simms Ave. died Wednesday. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church with the Rev. William McNeeley officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens with Gallant Funeral Home of Fayetteville, Tenn., in charge.
Mrs. Ellenberger was a native of Detroit and a retired registered nurse for the Army. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Ellenberger.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Ellenberger of Beaverton, Ore.; three sons, Mark Ellenberger of Council Bluff, Matthew Ellenberger of Annapolis, Md., and Fred Ellenberger of Fayetteville; and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mary Griffey
LEESBURG - Mary Elizebeth Steele Griffey, 48, of 1488 County Road 7, died Thursday at a Cherokee hospital. The funeral will be today at 2:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Revs. Johnny Reeves and Elton Rutherford officiating.
Burial will be in Inmanfield Cemetery in Winston County.
Mrs. Griffey was preceded in death by an infant son, David Eugene Fields, and an infant daughter, Mary Elain Jones.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Dewayne Griffey; one son, Robert Thomas Davis of Gadsden; two daughters, Nita Denise Duchene and Rickie Jeanette Holcomb, both of Leesburg; one stepson, John Griffey of Gadsden; two stepdaughters, Betty Joe Gray and Susan Griffey, both of Gadsden; four brothers, Sheral Steele of Snead, Ralph Steele, Gary Steele and Rickie Steele, all of Cherokee; four sisters, Becky Talley of Cherokee, Dolly Church of Indiana, Sheree Steele of Russellville and Hilda Ann Weeks of Falkville; and five step-grandchildren.
Benjamin F. Louell
GUNTERSVILLE - Benjamin Franklin Louell, 72, died Friday at his home. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Guntersville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Henryville Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Louise F. Louell; one daughter, Anne Louell; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation begins today at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Agnes D. Moore
Agnes D. Moore, 74, of Huntsville died Friday at her home. A graveside service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Spring Hill Cemetery in Madison with Dr. Prentis McGoldrick officiating.
Cole and Garrett Funeral Home is in charge of burial arrangements with Spry Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Moore was a native of North Dakota and had lived in Huntsville for the past 33 years. She was a retired school teacher, served in the Navy Hospital Corps during World War II and attended Idaho State University.
She was a volunteer for various organizations and a member of the International Quilt Group.
Survivors include her husband, Murry Moore; one daughter, Patti Starlin of Huntsville; one son, Dr. Greg L. Moore of Rhome, Texas; five sisters, Beverly Harrison of Boise, Idaho, Joyce Gibbs of Miamisburg, Ohio; Myrna Johnson of Worden, Mont.; Hildegarde Guise of Miles City, Mont., and Ellen Peraino of Los Angeles; two brothers, Elmer Dittus of Los Angeles and Charles Dittus of Omaha, Neb.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Hazel Oldacre
SOMERVILLE - Hazel Oldacre, 85, of Somerville died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at New Canaan Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Keen of Florida; two sons, A.Q. Oldacre of Somerville and Joseph L. Oldacre of Malaysia; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
June W. Park
LOS ANGELES - June Ware Park, 65, died July 10 at Bakersfield hospital. The funeral was Wednesday in Los Angeles. Burial will be Monday at 3 p.m. in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colo., with the Rev. Keith Hedstrom officiating.
Survivors include two sons, Ron Ware and Don Ware, both of Huntsville; one daughter, Patty Johnson of Colorado Springs; two sisters, Joon Hee Lee of San Diego and Hwa Ja Park of Dallas.
Rachel C. Parker
Rachel Cowan Parker, 77, of Huntsville died Friday at a local hospital. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce arrangements.
Mrs. Parker was a native of Madison County. She was a founding member of the Jordan Park Church of Christ, a master gardener and a published poet. She had worked in various retail management positions.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Parker.
Survivors include one daughter, Olivia Wall Lowe of Huntsville; one son, Kevin Wynn Parker of Huntsville; two sisters, Thelma Cothren of Huntsville and Lorene Pinkston of Owens Cross Roads; and three grandchildren and a special friend, Jim Lowe of Huntsville.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Gearod E. Thomas
Gearod E. "Jack" Thomas, 67, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 2:45 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Pelton officiating.
Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.
Mr. Thomas was a native of Birmingham and had lived in Huntsville since 1972. He retired from the Air Force and had worked with the YMCA.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Thomas of Huntsville; two daughters, Debbie Thomas and Lori Roberson, both of Huntsville; five sons, Scott Thomas, Wesley Thomas and Steve Thomas, all of Huntsville, Mike Thomas of Meridianville and David Thomas of Columbus, Ga.; two brothers, Doverd Thomas of Decatur and Ron Thomas of Birmingham; four sisters, ODelle Pugh, Norma Junkins and Juanita Robison, all of Birmingham, and Robbie Green of Montevallo; and six grandchildren.
Jerry F. Tucker
FLINTVILLE, Tenn. - Jerry F. Tucker, 63, of 24 Pendergrass Road died Thursday at his home. The funeral will be today at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Tenn., with the Rev. Clive Bell officiating.
Burial will be in Kelso Cemetery.
Mr. Tucker was a native of Lincoln County, Tenn., an Army veteran and a member of Flintville First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Clydia Moore Tucker of Flintville; one daughter, Lisa Lones of Fayetteville; two sons, Daryl Tucker of Fayetteville and Anthony Tucker of Flintville; three sisters, Bernice Norman of Kelso, Ellen Smith of Saugerties, N.Y., and Juanita Cashion of Flintville; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Hoyt V. Vassar
HAZEL GREEN - The Rev. Hoyt V. Vassar, 90, died Thursday at his home. The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at University Baptist Church with Dr. Walter Nunn, Dr. Harold Chandler and the Rev. Bob Vassar officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Valhalla Funeral Home in charge.
The Rev. Vassar was a member of University Baptist Church. He earned a degree in pastoral studies from Samford University, was a native of Madison County and had served as a pastor and missionary for several area churches.
Survivors include one daughter, Mancy Lou Rader of Hazel Green ; one brother, Milas Vassar of Huntsville; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
