Iliana M. Chittur
Iliana Martin Chittur, 49, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Twickenham Funeral Home East.
Twickenham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Chittur lived in Huntsville nine years, worked as a UAH graduate coordinator and volunteered for many school activities.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Krishnan Chittur of Huntsville; one son, Arun Chittur of Huntsville; one sister, Isabel Sellman of Humble, Texas; and one aunt, three nieces, two great-nephews and one great-niece.

Joe D. Cox Sr.
ATHENS - Joe David Cox Sr., 63, of 1207 North Houston St. died Monday at an Athens hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Byron Davis officiating.
Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.
Mr. Cox was a Marine Corps veteran, a racing fan and owner of Joes Welding Service and USA1 Dirt Tracker at the Moulton Speedway.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Hudson Cox of Athens; one son, Joe David Cox Jr. of Tampa, Fla.; three sisters, Cladia Faye Hicks of Indiana and Carolyn Campbell and Sylvia Ann Lyons, both of Kentucky; three brothers, Claude Cox Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kenneth Dale Cox of Georgia and Danny Dale Cox of North Carolina; and two grandchildren.
Thomas E. Dawson
GUNTERSVILLE - Thomas E. Dawson, 80, died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Valhalla Memory Gardens with the Rev. Harry Kirkley officiating.
Valhalla Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mr. Dawson was a World War II Army veteran and served in the 725th Railway Operating Battalion. He worked most his life as a master mechanic in the construction business building grain elevators and feed mills. Also, he worked 13 years as a maintenance foreman for Ralston Purina and Goldkist.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Rodney Stephen Dawson and Karl Trent Dawson.
Survivors include his wife, Iola M. Dawson of Guntersville; one son, Roderick Alan Dawson of Grant; two daughters, Karen Dawson of Cullman and Roxann Richardson of Boaz; two brothers, Kenneth Ray Dawson and Frank Wayne Dawson, both of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Ruby Zimmerman of Wichita and Hazel Roberts of Neosho, Mo.; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arjan B. Dewan
Arjan Bahadar Dewan, 68, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Tom Perrin officiating.
Valhalla Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dewan was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a graduate of the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He worked with Boeing on the Apollo program and the 747 aircraft. He also worked for McDonnell-Douglas Corp. on NASAs SpaceLab and Space Shuttle Challenger. He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 1648.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Dewan of Huntsville; two sisters, Kamla Chaudhri of New Dehli, India, and Sarla Shah of Narnaul, India; and one brother, Sudershan Bahadar Dewan of New Dehli.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Elks Memorial Center in Montgomery.
Tynie L. Deweese
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Tynie L. Deweese, 64, 2428 Pulaski Highway died Monday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Carlos Beddingfield officiating.
Burial will be in Kelso Cemetery.
Mrs. Deweese was a native of Oklahoma, had worked at Lee Manufacturing Co. and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel Junior Deweese of Fayetteville; three daughters, Sarah Wright and Katherine Sawyers, both of Fayetteville, and Lorine Maynard of Pennsylvania; three sons, Larry Pease, Patrick Deweese and John Deweese, all of Fayetteville; three brothers, Andrew Whitaker of California, Leyon Whitaker of Fayetteville and Rhydon Whitaker of Missouri; three sisters, Mary Wallace of Georgia, Lucille Gist of Oregon and Katherine Webber of California; and 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Inez Hutchison
UNION GROVE - Inez Hutchison, 96, of 3291 Mobbs School House Road died Monday at her home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial was to be in Gilliam Springs Cemetery.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Rosemary M. Link
DECATUR - Rosemary McCracken Link, 61, died Monday at a Decatur hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Burningtree Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Glen Keenon officiating.
Shelton Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mrs. Link was a native of Bethalto, Ill., and was a teacher at Price ville School.
Survivors include one son, Patrick Link of Decatur; one daughter, Cassondra Link of Tuscaloosa; one brother, Jack Wagner of St. Louis, Mo.; and one sister, Jean Marchbanks of Dupo, Ill.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
William C. Locke
McMINNVILLE, Tenn. - William Coy Locke, 84, died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at High Funeral Home chapel in McMinnville with Richard Jenkins officiating.
Burial will be in Gardens of Memory.
Mr. Locke was a native of Limestone County and was owner and operator of Buck Island Service Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Elizabeth Grimmett Locke.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Marie Henessee of Athens and Jollyn Jones of McMinnville; and four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Temperance Oak Baptist Church.
J.W. Mooney
GUNTERSVILLE - J.W. Mooney, 74, died Monday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Beulah Church.
Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery with W.T. Wilson Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Alberta Young Mooney of Guntersville; three daughters, Sara Sullavane and Patricia Mason, both of Florida, and Peggy Ogle of Guntersville; two sons, Larry Mooney of Boaz and Gary Dale Mooney of Florida; two stepsons, Tommy Moore Jr. of Crossville and Bradford Moore of Mount Burg; three sisters, Othell Edde of Crossville, Thelma Mahan of Georgia and Nettie Jaco of Boaz; and nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
His body was to be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Vernon Nance
FYFFE - Vernon Nance, 90, died Tuesday at a Fort Payne hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with Rev. Kip Box and the Rev. Larry Haynes officiating.
Burial will be in Kirk Memorial Gardens in Rainsville.
Survivors include his wife, Linnie Nance; two daughters, Lucille Morris of Fyffe and Lila Dean Elridge of Chattanooga; two sons, the Rev. Chester Nance of Fort Payne and Herman Nance of Fyffe; and 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Doris E. Sharples
Doris E. Sharples, 56, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Steve Pettey officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
A native of Germany, Mrs. Sharples moved to Huntsville in 1968. She was a retired teacher and a member of Sherwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. William C. Sharples of Huntsville; two sons, Steve Sharples and the Rev. Andy Sharples, both of Huntsville; one brother, Gerd Vogt of Germany; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Vivian Sledge
Vivian Sledge, 77, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Madkins Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America with the Rev. Endia Scruggs officiating.
Burial will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara McNichols and Eula Sledge, both of Huntsville; four sons, James Sistrunk, Melvin Sistrunk, Larry Sistrunk and Anthony Sistrunk, all of Huntsville; one sister, Ethel Ewing of Huntsville; and eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Ann P. Sullivan
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Ann Perry Sullivan, 59, of 13 Blankenship Road died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. James Barnes officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Hills Memorial Garden.
Mrs. Sullivan worked at Lincoln County Manufacturing Co.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Sullivan of Fayetteville; one daughter, Tammy Bryant of Fayetteville; three brothers, Tommy Perry, Larry Perry and Jodie Perry, all of Fayetteville; and one grandson.
Anita C. Womack
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Anita Curtis Womack, 82, of 803 2nd Ave. died Monday at a Fayetteville hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Carroll Hickman officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Womack owned and operated Womacks Grocery and was a homemaker and a member of Washington Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter, Pam Baker of Nashville; one son, Tim Womack of Fayetteville; five sisters, Ruth Collings of Tallahoma, Tenn., Mary Harris of Houston, Tenn., Marie Brewer of Fayetteville, Edith Francis of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Helen Hopper of Lewisburg, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.
