FORT PAYNE - Larry Hoyt Adams, 49, died Sunday at a DeKalb County hospital. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel in Rainsville with the Rev. Keith Owensby and the Rev. Erskine Davis officiating.
Burial will be in Unity Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Meredith Louise Adams of Pisgah; one son, Scotty Edd Adams of Henegar; two sisters, Donna Shelton and Patsy Wynn, both of Fort Payne; and one granddaughter.
Bertha L. Akin
SCOTTSBORO - Bertha Lee Ferguson Akin, 84, died Sunday at a Chattanooga hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Stevens officiating.
Burial will be in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens in Hollywood.
Mrs. Akin was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Akin; one daughter, Faye Akin; and one son, Kenneth E. Akin.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Thacker of Georgetown, S.C.; two sons, Jerry W. Akin of Chattanooga and James L. Akin of Bridgeport; one sister, Maudie Matthews of Scottsboro; and 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Patsy R. Boldin
LACEYS SPRING - Patsy Rosemarie Boldin, 50, died Sunday at her home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Herbert Childers officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Boldin was a lifelong resident of Huntsville.
Survivors include one daughter, Margaret Ann Boldin of Laceys Spring; one son, William Buster Boldin of Owens Cross Roads; her mother, Annie Mae Lamb of Fayetteville, Tenn.; two sisters, Janice Kent of Fayetteville and Brenda Lanier of Mobile; two brothers, Bill Upton of Huntsville and Bob Lamb of Manassas, Va.; three stepsisters, Rachel Dillon and Nancy Lamb, both of Huntsville, and Sarah Smith of Tampa, Fla.; one stepbrother, Buddy Lamb of Huntsville; and six grandchildren.

ALBERTVILLE - Ruth Leona Burke, 78, died Sunday at an area hospital. The funeral was today at 10 a.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Howard and the Rev. Dennis Phillips officiating.
Burial will be in Green s Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Ann Antonidis and Judy Faye Burnett, both of Houston, Texas, and Paulette Ruth Esco of Birmingham; one son, Don S. Burke of Albertville; one sister, Jean Smith of Geraldine; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Jillian E. Carlisto
ALBERTVILLE - Jillian Elizabeth Carlisto, 16, of 504 East View St. died Sunday. The funeral will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church.

Survivors include her parents, the Rev. John and Janice Carlisto; one brother, John Bradley Carlisto Jr. of Albertville; one sister, Joanna Rae Carlisto of Albertville; grandparents, John Charles and Thelma Roberto Carlisto of Albertville, Reynold John and Virginia Mae Skotte of Long Beach, Ca.; great-grandfather, Irving Fuhr of Albertville.
Mattye L. Dixon
Mattye L. Dixon, 58, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Nelms Memorial Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ricky Sykes officiating.
Burial will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace.
Survivors include one daughter, Tracie Evans of Huntsville; one son, Warren Hawkins of Huntsville; two sisters, Joann West and Sarah Dixon, both of Huntsville; one brother, Roosevelt Dixon of Huntsville; and three grandchildren.
James J. Hambrick Jr.
BRIDGEPORT - James J. Hambrick Jr., 73, died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Rudder Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Mr. Hambrick had worked at Penn Dixie Cement Plant and retired from H.D. Lee Plant in Stevenson.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Hambrick of Bridgeport; four sons, Jimmy Hambrick, Randy Hambrick and Kenneth Hambrick, all of Bridgeport, and Ronnie Hambrick of Jasper, Tenn.; one daughter, Brenda Guess of Bridgeport; one sister, Mary Owen of Bridgeport; and 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Charles E. Hester
Charles Edward Hester, 66, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mr. Hester retired from NASA as a supervisor of employee relations and a development specialist. He was a graduate of Bethel College and the University of Oklahoma. He was an elder at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Adcock Hester of Huntsville; one brother, J. David Hester of Knoxville, Tenn.; one sister, Lucille H. Cursey of Huntingdon, Tenn.; and five nephews and four nieces.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charlotte D. Howe
MADISON - Charlotte Dorothy "Lottie" Howe, 94, died Monday at a local hospital. No funeral is planned.
Mrs. Howe was a native of Chicago and had lived in Madison County seven years.
Survivors include one daughter, Dorthea Mikel of Hot Springs, Ark.; and four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Flora M. Hyatt
ALBERTVILLE - Flora Maude Hyatt, 86, of 2786 Solitude Road died Sunday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Carr Funeral Home of Guntersville.
Burial will be in the Corinth Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Hyatt of Albertville and Joe Hyatt of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Edith Tulley of Guntersville and Maybeth Shepard of Maryland; three brothers, L.D. Brookshire of Pinson, Elwin Brookshire of Birmingham and John H. Brookshire of Fla.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Willie M. Jacobs
BOAZ - Willie Michael Jacobs, 47, of 1304 North Main St. died Tuesday, Aug. 10 in Ohio. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at the Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial was to be in Sauls Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Burns Jacobs; two daughters, Tracey Tipton of Oneonta and Michelle Snow of Boaz; one step-daughter, Angie Whitt of Albertville; one step-son, Johnny Crocker of Carlisle; one sister, Kellie Shannon of Boaz; three brothers, Gary Jacobs of Pinson, Tim Hafley of Attalla and Eddie Hopper of Ga.; and seven grandchildren.
Billy W. Jarman
Retired Army Staff Sgt. Billy Wayne Jarman, 52, of Huntsville died Monday at his home. The graveside service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Chapel of Peace at Valhalla Memory Gardens with the Rev. James LeMay officiating.
Valhalla Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jarman was a Baptist and a native of Mississippi.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannette Jarman of Huntsville; one daughter, Wendy Jarman Lopez of Huntsville; two sons, William Scott Jarman and Phillip Wayne Jarman, both of Huntsville; his parents, Ora Nell Jarman and Walter Scott Jarman, both of Virginia; two sisters, Judy Jarman Gomer of Georgia and Deborah Jarman Smith of Virginia; two brothers, Walter Mike Jarman and Jerry Jarman, both of Virginia; and one grandchild.

GUNTERSVILLE - Hersle Otis Kelley, 78, of 5322 Pleasant Hill Road died Monday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill No. 2 Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Delta Drain Kelley; one son, Otis Wayne Kelley of Miss.; two sisters, Rilla Alvis of Missouri and Bertha Wilder of Fla.; four brothers, Junior Kelley, Thomas Kelley, Cletus Kelley and Roger Kelley, all of Fla.; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Joe Kelley
IDER - Joe ''Frank Kelley, 61, died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Ider Church of God with the Rev. Roy Garren and the Rev. Benjamin Young officiating.
Burial will be in Fuller Cemetery in Ider with Kerby Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Kelley was a member of the Ider Church of God. He was preceded in death by one son, David Joe Kelley.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Kelley; one daughter, Marshena Morrison of Henagar; one son, Dewayne Kelley of Ider; two sisters, Margaret Moore of Henagar and Nannie Hubbard of Fairfax; one brother, Thomas Kelley of Henagar; and four grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today and Wednesday until 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Eugene King
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Eugene "Pee Wee" King, 65, died Sunday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home in Ardmore, Ala.
Burial will be in Hastings Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Cathey Phillips of Nashville; one brother, J.B. King of California; one sister, Geneva Crabtree of Ardmore, Tenn.; and two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Leroy Luckett
Leroy Luckett, 75, of 4611 Sparkman Drive died Sunday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Syler Tabernacle Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Derrick Langford officiating.
Burial will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include five daughters, Teresa Pamplin, Melvia Lene Battle, Shawnyetta Luckett, Letoria Luckett and Patrice Armes, all of Huntsville; one son, Millard Powell of Huntsville; two brothers, Leon Luckett of Pittsburgh, Pa., and William Luckett of Cleveland; and 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Clara M. Mullins
ATHENS - Clara Mae Mullins, 87, died Monday in Athens. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wooley Springs Baptist Church with Bros. Tony Boyles and Tim Keenum officiating.
Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery with Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include one son, Gene Mullins of Athens; two daughters, Betty McNeese and Fay Mullins, both of Ardmore, Ala.; one brother, Lester Graviet of Elkmont; one sister, Gertrude Vining of Athens; and 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

William D. Owens
DECATUR - Willie Delmar Owens, 73, died Sunday at a local hospital. The graveside service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Buddy Champion officiating.
Roselawn Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mr. Owens was an Army veteran of World War II, retired from civil service, and a member of Cookeville, Tenn., Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Owens; three daughters, Helen Hill of Decatur, Ann Strunk of Pine Knot, Ky., and Janice Johnson of Birmingham; one son, Charles Owens of Laurel, Miss.; his mother, Eula Owens of Cherokee, Ala.; five sisters, Opaline Jones, Geraldine Flatt, Cardly Hooks, Billie Mitchell and Joyce Bullington, all of Cookeville, Tenn.; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
James P. Pierce
SCOTTSBORO - Dr. James Porter Pierce, 88, died Sunday. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Rudder Funeral Home with Dr. Timothy Pierce officiating.
Burial was to be in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens in Hollywood.
Dr. Pierce was a retired chiropractor. He was a member of the Sand Mountain Chiropractic Society, the Alabama State Chiropractic Association and the International Chiropractic Association.
Survivors include one son, Dr. Harold Pierce of Scottsboro; three grandchildren; Dr. Joy ''Betsy Elizabeth McRae of Minor Hill, Tenn., Dr. Timothy Pierce of Winfield, Ala., and Dr. David Pierce of Scottsboro; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pearl M. Pippin
Pearl Mae Pippin, 85, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Charles Jones and Richard Frees officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Pippin was a native of Jackson County, but spent most her life in Madison County. She was a member of Pineview Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Frellon Pippin.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Brooks and Carrie Stuart, both of Huntsville; two sisters, Bertie Campbell and Elizabeth Mills, both of Huntsville; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Howard Stillman Jr.
MERIDIANVILLE - Howard W. Stillman Jr., 72, of South Oxford Circle died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Gallant Funeral Home chapel in Hazel Green with Dr. Tommy Bolan officiating.
Burial will be in Concord Cemetery in New Market.
Mr. Stillman was a native of Lake City, Fla., a Baptist, a retired Air Force master sergeant, a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars and retired from the Social Security Department.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Yell Stillman of Meridianville; one daughter, Nikki Obradovich of Omaha, Neb.; one son, Bill Stillman of Carter Lake, Iowa; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

SCOTTSBORO - Andrew B. Wilhelm, 80, died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Elder Dan Haynes officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Hutcheson Wilhelm; three daughters, Debra Goff of Section and Judy Pace and Wanda Wilhelm, both of Scottsboro; two sons, Roy Wilhelm of Scottsboro and Joe Wilhelm of Tullahoma, Tenn.; one sister, Inez Robertson of Chattanooga; and 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Lester E. Wooten
PRICEVILLE - Lester E. Wooten, 91, died Sunday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Vance Windsor officiating.
Internment will be in Roselawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
Mr. Wooten moved to Morgan County in 1912 from Texas when he was 4 years old. He was an educator in the Morgan County and Decatur school systems for 42 years, serving as a teacher, coach, principal, including 21 years as principal at Decatur High School, and 10 years as county superintendent of education. He served two years in the Alabama House of Representatives and was a Sunday School teacher at Central United Methodist Church for 35 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol ONeill of Birmingham; one sister, Leeree Plemmons of Birmingham; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
