Jessie J. Bolden Sr.
Jessie James Bolden Sr., 86, of Huntsville died Wednesday at his home. The graveside service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Dr. Ralph Langley officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Survivors include his wife, Vennie Bolden of Huntsville; two sons, Gary E. Bolden of Taft, Tenn., and Jessie James Bolden Jr. of Meridianville; one daughter, Trenda Dempsey of New Market; one brother, Raymond Bolden of Montgomery; two sisters, Annie Mae Lamb of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Margie Brazelton of Huntsville; and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Grace L. Campbell
Grace Louise Campbell, 84, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a Fayetteville, Tenn., nursing home. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with Ralph Tucker officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Campbell was a native of Chattanooga, Tenn.
Survivors include her husband, Laymon Campbell of Huntsville; one daughter, Julanna Lynn Jarman of Hazel Green ; one sister, Mary Brant of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Delphia C. Davis
Delphia Criss Davis, 78, of Huntsville died Tuesday at her home. The graveside service was today at 11 a.m. at John Lay Cemetery in Etheridge, Tenn., with Elder Clifton Johnston officiating.
Neal Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., is in charge of burial.
She was a native of Lawrence County, Tenn., and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, John William "Billy" Davis.
Survivors include one son, John Davis of Huntsville; one daughter, Beth Ford of College Grove, Tenn.; one sister, Dale Manuel of Lampasas, Texas; one brother, Bill Criss of Martinsville, Va.; and three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Family Care.
Ora D. Graves
RAINSVILLE - Ora D. Graves, 87, died Wednesday. The funeral will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Broadway Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin McCreless, the Rev. Jerry Rea and the Rev. Jim Griffin officiating.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Sand Mountain Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Graves was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse N. Graves.
Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Phillips of Southside and Glendora Boggs and Joyce Fricks, both of Rainsville; and six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Oliver A. Harshaw
Oliver A. Harshaw, 66, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Richard Hendrix officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mr. Harshaw was a native of Madison County, retired from NASA, an Air Force veteran and a member of Madison Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Parks of Madison and Anita Whatley of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sons, Michael Harshaw of Easley, S.C., and Donald Harshaw of Flintville, Tenn.; two brothers, Gene Harshaw of Huntsville and Curtis Harshaw of California; and nine grandchildren.
Larry G. Hinkle
ATHENS - Larry G. Hinkle, 54, died Wednesday at a Columbia, Tenn., hospital. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Norman D. Key
ELKMONT - Norman David Key, 71, of Goodin Road died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home in Athens with Pat Smith and David Jones officiating.
Burial will be in Myers Cemetery.
Mr. Key was retired from SCI Systems and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi Goodin Key; one son, David Paul Key of Elkmont; two daughters, Jeanie Neely of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Tina Reeves of Elkmont; two brothers, Clifton Key of Birmingham and Harold Key of Trussville; and six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and nieces and nephews.
Barbara Larose
Barbara Larose, 71, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with the Rev. Larry Ouimet officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Larose supervised the after-school program at Monte Sano Elementary School for several years.
Survivors include her husband, Ernie Larose of Huntsville; one daughter, Nancy Barker of Boaz; and three grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Judes Childrens hospital.
Charles W. Lassiter
Charles W. Lassiter, 67, of Huntsville died Wednesday at his home. The funeral will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Don Tanner officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mr. Lassiter was a Navy veteran and had worked for the U.S. Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal for 33 years. He attended Redstone Bicentennial Chapel.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Lassiter of Huntsville; one daughter, Diane Tanner of Birmingham; three sons, Michael Lassiter of Grant, Jerry Lassiter of Montgomery and Brian Lassiter of Birmingham; two sisters, Glenna Faye Arnold of Lafayette, Ind., and Virginia Dean Hatch of Little Rock, Ark.; one brother, Rex Don Lassiter of Conway, Ark.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cora R. Murphy
SCOTTSBORO - Cora R. Murphy, 81, died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Stevens officiating.
Burial was to be in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens in Hollywood.
Mrs. Murphy was employed by Belk-Hudson in Scottsboro for several years.
Survivors include her husband, Robert C. Murphy; one daughter, Judy Roberts of Scottsboro; two sons, Donald Murphy of Symrna, Ga., and Larry Murphy of San Diego, Calif.; and 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Karen L. Peterson
NEW HOPE - Karen Lee Peterson, 43, died Wednesday at her home. Spry Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Peterson was a native of Farmington, Maine, and had lived in Madison County one month.
Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Bachelder of Phillips, Maine; two sons, Cyrus Bachelder Jr. of New Hope and Carl Bachelder of Valhermoso Springs; her father, Celine Crocker of Grangley, Maine; two sisters, Teresa Crawford of Grangley and Dale Crocker of Phillips; four brothers, Patrick Crocker and Dean Crocker, both of Grangley, and Kim Crocker and Kevin Crocker, both of Portland, Maine; and seven grandchildren.
Talmadge A. Smithey
Talmadge A. Smithey, 89, of Huntsville died Wednesday. The funeral will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mr. Smithey was a retired Navy commander. He served in the Navy 32 years, including 40 months in Japanese prison camps during World War II.
Survivors include one brother, Joe W. Smithey of Huntsville; and two nieces and two nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Roger D. Woodham
ALBERTVILLE - Roger Dale Woodham, 33, of 6066 Pleasant Grove Road died Monday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville.
Burial was to be in Brookwood Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Vanessa Woodham; one stepson, Tracy Lanier of Scottsboro; mother, Earline Woodham of Albertville; four sisters, Ellen Swords of Albertville, Margaret Drough and Doris Penland, both of Steele, and Darlene Wilson of Union Grove; and four brothers, Hancel Hartbarger of Arkansas, Charlie Hartbarger of Union Grove, J.H. Hartbarger of Arab and Glenn Woodham of Grant.
