H.B. Black
SECTION - H.B. Black, 69, died Thursday at a Jackson County hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel in Rainsville with the Rev. Shannon Williams officiating.
Burial will be in Corinth Cemetery.
Mr. Black was a retired farmer and a funeral director at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge No. 565.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Holcomb Black of Section; three sons, Larry Black, Danny Black and Phillip Black, all of Section; his parents, Haskin and Bessie Jones Black of Section; two sisters, Ethelene Woodall and Lynette Swinford, both of Section; one brother, Millege Black of Section; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
James P. Dicus
SCOTTSBORO - James Polk ''J.P. Dicus Jr., 76, died Wednesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Center Point Baptist Church with the Revs. J.A. Linville and Roger Hobbs officiating.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Scottsboro Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Dicus was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Dicus; a son, James Edward Dicus; and two grandchildren, Rodney Discus and Theresa Dicus.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris Wasylow and Brenda Thrasher, both of Scottsboro; five sons, Jerry W. Dicus, Billy Dicus, Kenneth Dicus and Jimmy Dicus, all of Scottsboro, and Roger Dicus of Skyline; and 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Margaret E. Ewing
Margaret Elaine Ewing, 54, of 4323 Irondale Drive died Saturday, Aug. 28, at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Bartley Primitive Baptist Church with Pastor Chester Readus officiating.
Burial will be in Indian Creek Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Ewing was a native of Madison County.
Survivors include her husband, Samuel L. Ewing of Huntsville; one daughter, Mary Baffield of Huntsville; one son, Henry Lee Brocks Jr. of Huntsville; her mother and stepfather, Odell Smith and Earl Smith of Huntsville; five sisters, Sallie Patton, Shirley Burruss, Mildred Bell, Leona Smith and Beatie M. Smith, all of Huntsville; four brothers, George Smith, Jimmy Lee Smith and James Smith, all of Huntsville, and Amos Smith of Nashville; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
James H. Haga
MADISON James Henry Haga, 67, died Thursday at his home. The funeral will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Revs. David McMichael and Gene Pugh officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Haga was a retired manager for Kroger and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Haga of Madison; two sons, Robert Haga of Decatur and Ken Haga of Huntsville; and two grandchildren and one niece.

His body will be at the church 30 minutes before the funeral.
Larry G. Hinkle
ATHENS - Larry Glen Hinkle, 54, of 17948 Wells Road died Wednesday at a Columbia, Tenn., hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Billy McGregor and James Hinkle officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Athens.
Mr. Hinkle was a member of Corinth Church of Christ.
Survivors include his mother, Neva Hinkle of Athens; six brothers, Benny Hinkle and Kenneth Hinkle, both of Athens, Hollis Hinkle of Huntsville, Stanley Hinkle of Toney, James Hinkle of Dickson, Tenn., and Dwight Hinkle of Decatur; and one sister, Ruby Hinkle Hall of Toney.
Gladys C. Honeycutt
MADISON - Gladys Carpenter Honeycutt, 94, died Thursday at a Madison nursing home. The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Garner-Harper Funeral Home chapel in Grenada, Miss.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada.
Mrs. Honeycutt attended Blue Mountain College, was a member of University Baptist Church in Madison, was a former member of First Baptist Church in Grenada, where she once lived.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Honeycutt Jr.
Survivors include two sons, Roy L. Honeycutt Jr. of Louisville, Ky., and John Honeycutt of Madison; one sister, Mary Harpole of Grenada; and five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two nieces.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alabama Baptist Childrens Home and Family Ministries, P.O. Box 361767, Birmingham, 35236.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Betty Marcum
PETERSBURG, Tenn. - Betty Marcum, 96, of 57 Twin Springs Road died Thursday at a Fayetteville, Tenn., nursing home. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at McCauley Funeral Home in Petersburg with the Rev. Bob Dunivan officiating.
McCauley Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Katherine Rice of Dayton, Ohio; two sons, John R. Marcum of Petersburg and Virgil Marcum of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Loney Puckett of Clay City, Ky.; and 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Clark B. McKnight
MADISON - Clark Brooks McKnight, 94, died Tuesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral was Thursday at Royal Palm Cemetery in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Spry Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
Mr. McKnight was a native of Crown Point, Ind. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille McKnight.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia L. Rapaich of Huntsville; two stepsons, Don Skolds of Braidwood, Ill., and Bruce Skolds of Peru, Ind.; one sister, Olive Max of Indiana; and eight step-grandchildren.
Leora Morse
LESTER - Leora Ezell Corder Morse, 91, of 25275 Corder Road died Thursday at her home. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in Athens with Ray Blankenship officiating.
Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery.
Mrs. Morse was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Theo Corder, and one son, Theo A. "Bud" Corder.
Survivors include her husband, Robert O. "Bob" Morse of Lester; one stepdaughter, Rachel Davis Clem of Athens; one brother, Clayton Ezell of Kennesaw, Ga.; and five grandchildren and seven grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Athens/Limestone Home Health.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ivy M. Pencola
Ivy May Pencola, 80, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. The memorial service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel.
Valhalla Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Pencola was a member of the Womens Army Corps in World War II.
Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Lynne Patton of Pennsylvania; one sister, Dorothy Marshall of California; one brother, Vernon Wing of Michigan; and four grandchildren one great-grandchild and two nieces and three nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Arthritis Foundation.
Raymond G. Seay
BRIDGEPORT - Raymond Glenn Seay, 66, died Wednesday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 3 p.m. at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson with the Rev. Charles Richards officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Haven Cemetery.
Mr. Seay was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He fought in the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart.
Survivors include four sons, David Seay, Jeff Seay and Bryan Seay, all of Bridgeport, and Barry Seay of Stevenson; two sisters, Clara Jo Sehorne of Rossville, Ga., and Ethel Boggs of Los Angeles; and six granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.
Alma Williams
Alma Annie Mae Williams, 84, of 4408 Judith Lane, Apt. 71-A, died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at noon at Cullman City Cemetery with the Rev. Hobert Peake officiating.
Moss-Service Funeral Home in Cullman is in charge of burial.
Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie W. Felts of Huntsville; three sisters, Olma Ryan, Kathleen Dean and Mildred Vincent; and three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
Jimmy Young
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Jimmy Young, 49, of 111 River Drive died Wednesday at a Nashville veterans hospital. The memorial service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Clay Jarred officiating.
Mr. Young worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Hambrick Young of Fayetteville; two daughters, Kimberly Dawn Young of Huntsville, Ala., and Melissa Stevenson of Fayetteville; his mother, Estelle Henderson Wright of Fayetteville; four sisters, Robin Rose of Ardmore, Ala., Louise Phillips of Tullahoma and Tracie Rhodes and Michelle Harper, both of Fayetteville; one brother, Johnny Young of Fayetteville; three stepbrothers, Tommy Wright, Mike Wright and Lowell Wright, all of Fayetteville; and one grandchild.
