Mildred Blake
HAZEL GREEN - Mrs. Mildred Blake, 88, of Carter Grove Road died Friday at an area nursing home. The funeral will be Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at Gallant Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, Texas with Gallant Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include three nieces, Mariola Duvall Jernigan of Hazel Green, Tomasene Duvall Bishop of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lucille Duvall Creath of Houston, Texas; one nephew, Donald Overall of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Visitation will be today from 7-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Robert P. Dean
HAZEL GREEN - Robert Paul Dean, 71, of Gaines St. died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today in New Castle, Pa.
Burial will be in New Castle Cemetery with Gallant Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Dean was a retired locomotive engineer for the CSX Transportation Co. and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife Elsie Dean; one son, Robert Paul Dean Jr. of Graham, Wash.; three stepsons, Michael Thompson of Alexandria, Ind., Scott B. Thompson of Huntsville and Mark Thompson of Hazel Green ; one sister, Frances Dinsmore of Fort Pierce, Fla.; and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Carl D. DeNeen
SPRING HILL, Fla. - Carl D. DeNeen died Thursday at a Brooksville hospital.The funeral will be Monday at 8 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home in Hancock, Md., with the Rev. Edward James and Rev. Robert D. Smith officiating.
Entombment will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown, Md.
Mr. DeNeen retired in 1973 from the transportation division of NASA in Huntsville. He was an Army veteran of World War II and Korea. He was a member of the VFW, Cahaba Temple and York Rite Masonic Bodies in Huntsville.
Survivors include his wife, Frances DeNeen; two sisters, Naomi Youngblood of Hancock and Rhea Arnold of Romney, W. Va.
Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m.

Doyle Haney
ATHENS - Doyle ''Buddy Haney, 67, of Houston Court died Thursday at an Athens hospital. A graveside service will be today at 10 a.m. at Gatlin Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include nieces, nephews and cousins.

Eliza M. Meadows
Miss Eliza M. Meadows, 80, of Huntsville died Tuesday. A graveside service will be today at 3 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham with Ridouts Elmwood Chapel in charge.
Miss Meadows was preceded in death by her brother, W.F. Meadows, and her sister, Ronda Meadows Rives.
Survivors include two nieces, Janice Rivers Cos of Hueytown and Elizabeth Rives Thomas of Huntsville; two nephews, William Rives of St. Louis and William Meadows of Smithville, Miss.

James B. Pepper
ATHENS - James Bert Pepper, 53, of Ennis Road died Thursday at Huntsville Hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Gerome Hilliard officiating.
Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Pepper was a native of Limestone County, a member of Midway Baptist Church and was a bus driver for the Athens, Decatur and Huntsville school systems.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Pylant Pepper; two daughters, Stacey Jan Pepper and Tracey Carol Pepper, both of Athens; one sister, Mary Dilbeck of Athens; two brothers, John Thomas Pepper of Decatur and Hardy Pepper of Athens; and nieces and nephews.

Betty H. Ridgeway
Mrs. Betty Honey Ridgeway, 62, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 11 a.m. Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Ridgeway was a native of Madison County and retired from the Huntsville Police Department. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Ridgeway.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Dudley of Harvest and LaDell Britton of Fayetteville; one son, Mark Branon Sr. of Meridianville; two sisters, Edna Mullins and Evelyn Harris, both of Gurley; three brothers, R.D. Honey, Logan Honey Jr. and Billy Honey, all of Huntsville; and five grandchildren.

Melissa Voigt-Smith
Melissa A. Voight-Smith, 45, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a Birmingham hospital. No funeral is planned.
Survivors include her mother, Eileen Voigt of Huntsville; two sons, Joel Smith of Gadsden and Christopher Smith of Huntsville; one sister, Suzanne Voigt of Huntsville.

James Herbert Carter
BOWDON, Ga. - James Herbert Carter, 69, of Wess Manor Drive died Thursday at his home. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Don Osborne officiating.
Burial will be at Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Carter; three sons, Don Carter of Huntsville, Mike Carter of Athens and Gary Carter of Goodsprings, Tenn.; one daughter, Jolynn Truett of Bowdon; one sister, Mildred Crews of Athens; and 10 grandchildren.

Melvie D. Chapman
FLAT ROCK - Melvie D. Knight Chapman, 76, died Friday at a Fort Payne hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with the Rev. Fred Russell and Elder Edgar Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Beulahs Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Lavay R. Chapman; three daughters, Jean Weldon, Genett Keith and Mary Jo Shrader, all of Flat Rock; one son, Ernest Lavay Chapman of Ider; her mother, Dora Rice Knight; two sisters, Allie Holcomb and Lennie Gore; one brother, Melvin Knight, all of Higdon; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Roy Edward Embry
NEW HOPE - Roy Edward Embry, 55, of 356 College Ave. died Saturday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at New Hope Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Sink Cemetery.
Mr. Embry was a truck driver and a veteran, and was born March 30, 1943 in Alabama.
Survivors include three daughters, Tammy Cooper of New Hope and Lora Martin and Melissa McGough, both of Owens Cross Roads; three sisters, Bonnie Dunn, Nona Dunn and Ruby Jackson, all of Grant; three brothers, William T. Embry of Huntsville, W.L. Embry of Grant and Buddy M. Embry of Owens Cross Roads; and five grandchildren.

Carl E. Gibson
UNION GROVE - Carl Eugene Gibson, 67, of 3544 Union Grove Road died Friday at a Falkville nursing home. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Carr Funeral Home of Guntersville directing.
Survivors include four daughters, Carla Gibson of Cullman, Sandra Gibson and Beverly Neeley, both of Huntsville, and Lisa Gibson of Indiana; his father, Leon Gibson of Union Grove; three sisters, Mary Sturgeon, Shirley Parker and Nina Rouseff; three brothers, Howard Gibson, Don Gibson and Bob Gibson; and three grandchildren.
The body will be at the church at 1 p.m.

William C. Hammonds
TONEY - William Clifton Hammonds, 89, of 417 Hammond Lane died Wednesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Union Hill P.B. Church.
Burial will be in Hammond Cemetery in Toney with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Maude Baldwin Hammonds; two daughters, Mildred Hammonds Pruitt of Huntsville and Jean Hammonds Beauchamp of Los Angeles; and four sons, Glenn Hammonds of Chicago and William Clifton Hammonds Jr., Joseph Hammonds and Carey H. Hammonds, all of Huntsville.

Frances Beverly Huff
Frances Beverly Huff, 65, of Huntsville died Friday at her home. The graveside service will be today at 2 p.m. at Valhalla Memory Gardens with the Rev. Jack Freeman officiating and Valhalla Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Huff was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a member of Cedar Gap Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Huff of Lillian; one daughter, Tammy Owen of Huntsville; two sons, Mike Sanders of Long Beach, Miss., and Mitch Sanders of Las Vegas; one brother, Frank Beverly of Sacramento; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 1 to 1:45 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Willliam J. Lindsey
RICHLANDS, N.C. - William ''Bill J. Lindsey, 72, formerly of Huntsville, died Friday at a Jacksonville, N.C., hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Richlands with the Rev. Eric Jones officiating.
Burial will be at Onslow Memorial Park in Jacksonville.
Survivors include his wife, Frances W. Lindsey; three daughters, Joy Mullen of Richlands, Dianne Stout of Jacksonville, N.C. and Christine Lindsey of Simpson, La.; four stepchildren, Thomas Richard Cochran of Raleigh, N.C., Debbie Kriessman of Dallas, Nicholas Thomas of Connecticut and Donna Thomas of Jacksonville, N.C.; one sister, June Pressley of Edes, Tenn.; three brothers, Gaylor Lindsey of Edes and Joe Lindsey and Marvin Lindsey, both of Cordova, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Richlands.

Joseph H. Morton
GUNTERSVILLE - Joseph H. Morton, 59, of 30 McCord Circle died Friday at his home. The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Pine Grove No. 1 Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Carr Funeral Home of Guntersville directing.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Deerman and Lisa Sims, both of Guntersville; two sisters, Mozell Daniel and Connie Moore, both of Guntersville; two brothers, Danny Morton and Verlon Morton, both of Albertville; and five grandchildren.

Jewel J. Saylor
ROGERSVILLE - Jewel J. Saylor, 84, died Friday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be today at 1:30 p.m. at Elkins East Chapel in Center Star.
Burial will be at Civitan Cemetery.
Mrs. Saylor was preceded in death by her husband, G.A. Saylor. She was born in Calhoun County.
Survivors include three daughters, Vivian Whitley of Rogersville and Joyce Leahey and Phyllis Spivey, both of Huntsville; one sister, Violet Hile of Wichita, Kansas; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
