David W. Cooper
David Wayne Cooper, 62, of Huntsville died Thursday at his home. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with Bill Cantrell officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mr. Cooper was a native of Giles County, Tenn., but spent most his life in Madison County. He retired from Ryco Engineering Co. Inc.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie Lou Cooper of Huntsville; one son, Shane Cooper of Athens; two stepdaughters, Shirley Wright of Madison and Linda Schell of Huntsville; one stepson, David Proffitt of Madison; two brothers, Pete Cooper and Hugh Cooper, both of Tennessee; and one grandson and five step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Sadie P. Cross
STEVENSON - Sadie Pearl Cross, 77, died Tuesday at a Chattanooga hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson with the Rev. William Langford officiating.
Burial will be in Stevenson City Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Estoria Wordlaw and Helen Bivins of Stevenson; one son, Josh Hutchins of Decatur; three sisters, Cassie McDonald of Stevenson, Lucille Chitty of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Sallie McMillian of South Pittsburg, Tenn.; two brothers, Arthur Hutchins and John Lee Hutchins, both of Stevenson; and 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Richard E. Dickson
Richard Edgar "Dick" Dickson, 64, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dickson earned a degree in physics from the University of Alabama. He moved to Huntsville in 1957 to work at Redstone Arsenal and later served in the Army in Korea during the armistice. He retired in 1988 and continued to serve in the Army National Guard and Reserves, where he was a captain. He was a YMCA scuba instructor emeritus and his hobbies included cave diving, hiking and other outdoor activities.
Survivors include his mother, Adaline Agnes Dickson of Huntsville; one son, Conan Alastair Dickson of Huntsville; and one brother, Samuel Dickson Jr. of North Carolina.
Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia Society.
Joseph R. Evans
Joseph Richard Evans, 65, of Huntsville died Thursday at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with ministers George Lee, Troy Craig and Lois Culver officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mr. Evans was a native of Morgan County and lived in Madison County since 1956. He was a Korean War veteran and retired from SCI.
Survivors include his wife, Verna M. Evans of Huntsville; one daughter, Karen Evans of Huntsville; three sons, Stanley Evans, Bryant Evans and Gary Evans, all of Huntsville; one brother, Ray Evans of Laceys Spring; five sister, Ruth Evans of Fayetteville, Ga., Margaret Wiley of Huntsville, Ruby Geddes of Leesburg, Fla., Elizabeth Wiley of New Haven, Conn., and Martha Lee Dawley of Pensacola, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Steven R. Gammon
ATHENS - Steven Ross Gammon, 42, of 24787 Wilee Lane died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Limestone Memory Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Tracie Gammon of Athens; two stepsons, Anthony McDavid and Aaron McDavid, both of Gonzales, La.; his father, Shirley T. Gammon of Indiana; his mother and stepfather, Erma Josephine and Leonard Dziurgot of Detroit; two sisters, Chirleen Wilson of New Boston, Mich., and Vickie Brooks of Lincoln Park, Mich.; and one brother, Olen Gammon of Michigan.

Gordon Holland
LAKEVIEW, Ark. - Gordon Holland, 91, died Sept. 12. A memorial service will be Saturday at 7 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with the Rev. Luther Earl Hollaway officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dutton.
Mr. Holland, a native of Henagar, was a laborer for Whitman and Barnes Manufacturing in Kalamazoo, Mich., and a member of Pisgah Masonic Lodge No. 870. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Lou Holland.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Holland; and two sons, Riley Holland of Lakeview and Gordon Holland of Garland, Texas.
Paul L. Hollaway
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Paul Lindsey Hollaway, 74, died Thursday. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Kerby Funeral home in Henagar with the Rev. Clinton Graham officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Dutton.
Mr. Hollaway was a member of the Heighland Heights Baptist Church and was a Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Carlene Hollaway; one daughter, Dianne Mahaffey of Memphis; one son, Paul Dennis of Olive Branch, Miss.; two sisters, Nelda Adams of Kingston, Tenn., and Peggy Simpson of Huntsville; and two brothers, Luther Earl Hollaway of Fort Payne and Nelson ''Wart Hollaway of Dutton.
Clarence P. Howard
NEW MARKET - Clarence P. "Sweat" Howard, 68, died Thusrday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Miller Cemetery with Bill Phillips officiating.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Survivors include his wife, Cherry C. Howard of New Market; one daughter, Susan H. Vann of New Market; one son, Timothy P. Howard of New Market; one brother, W.B. Howard of New Market; one sister, Alverene Preston of Huntsville; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Raymond A. Hudson
Raymond Alton Hudson, 95, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Dan Summerlin and Dr. Walter Nunn officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mr. Hudson was a native of Madison County and a member of University Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jalie Inez Hudson; and one son, Billy Wayne Hudson.
Survivors include one daughter, Delsie Tribble of Madison; two sons, James S. Hudson and Paul T. Hudson, both of Huntsville; one sister, Ora Sharp of North Carolina; and nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Wanda F. Hudson
BRIDGEPORT - Wanda F. Hudson, 63, died Monday at a local hospital. There will be no funeral.
Rudder Funeral Home of Stevenson is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Hudson, formerly from Rhea County, Tenn., was a Baptist.
Survivors include one daughter, Sherae Adams of Tampa, Fla.; and two granddaughters, Amy Hawkins of Rhea County and Melissa Bracket of Jacksonville, N.C.; and two great-grandchildren.

W.T. Hughey Jr.
W.T. Hughey Jr., 57, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Charity Cemetery.
Mr. Hughey was a native of Madison County and worked for Sherman Industries.
Survivors include one daughter, Michele Bailey of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; and one sister, Jean H. Robison of Madison.

Brenda E. Kirk
Brenda E. Kirk, 52, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Hal Howard and the Rev. Mike Carroll officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Kirk was a member of Huntsville Park Baptist Church and a Madison Academy graduate. She worked for South Atlantic Component Sales.
Survivors include two sons, Larry David Kirk Jr. and Casey Alan Kirk, both of Huntsville; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Minor of Huntsville; and one grandson.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Elizabeth L. Leeth
Elizabeth L. Leeth, 95, of Huntsville died Wednesday. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cullman City Cemetery with Pastor Don Strandlund officiating.
Moss-Service Funeral Home of Cullman is in charge of burial.
Mrs. Leeth lived in Cullman for 91 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Leeth.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty L. Kelley of Huntsville; one granddaughter, Janet K. Pridmore of Huntsville; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Christ Lutheran Church in Cullman.
Visitation will be Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Frank L. Miller
ARAB - Frank Lavon Miller, 52, of 255 County Road 1838 died Wednesday in Arab. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Arab.
Burial was in Arab Memorial Cemetery with Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his mother, Othella Miller of Arab; and one brother, Lemois Miller of Arab.
Raymond Mitchell
Raymond Mitchell, 62, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at noon at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with the Rev. Louis Giardino officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Mitchell was a native of Buffalo, N.Y., and lived in Huntsville 18 years. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and was active in the Knights of Columbus. He was also in the Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Mitchell of Huntsville; one sister, Mary Jane Salansky of Buffalo; three brothers, J. Richard Mitchell of Huntsville, Stephen J. Mitchell of Tampa, Fla., and Paul H. Mitchell of Peninsula, Ohio; and 17 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

James H. Mowl
James H. Mowl, 70, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Mount Tabor Cemetery.
Peck Funeral Home of Hartselle is in charge of burial.
Mr. Mowl was a native of Tennessee, a member of West Huntsville Baptist Church and retired from Redstone Arsenal after working there 34 years.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma W. "Nell" Mowl of Huntsville; one son, James Gary Mowl of Birmingham; one daughter, Thelma L. Martin of Hartselle; five brothers, Garnie Mowl of Sprucedale, Ontario, Canada, Grady Mowl of Glade Springs, Va., and Donald Mowl, Kenneth Mowl and Lonnie Mowl, all of Rogersville, Tenn.; five sisters, Helen Golden and Peggy Manis, both of Surgoinsville, Tenn., Beatrice Jarnigan of Bulls Gap, Tenn., Carolyn Watts of White Pine, Tenn., and Barbara Whiteman of Kingsport; and one grandson.
Margaret A. Webster
NEW MARKET - Margaret Ann Webster, 58, died Thursday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Locust Grove Baptist with Dr. Robert White officiating.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mrs. Webster was a native of Cleveland, Tenn., and lived in Huntsville since 1980. She was a member of the church.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Webster of New Market; one son, John "Chris" Webster of Huntsville; one daughter, Jennifer Gail Reid of Albuquerque, N.M.; and one sister, Elizabeth Gail Montieth of Signal Mountain, Tenn.
