Ernest D. Clark
HAZEL GREEN - Ernest Douglas "Bud" Clark, 78, died Monday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Eddie Lones officiating.
Burial will be in Stateline Cemetery.
Mr. Clark was a native of Madison County and a member of Stateline United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Dianne C. Hinson of Birmingham and Ernestine Patterson of Huntsville; one stepson, James Earl ODell of Marietta, Ga.; and 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Courtenaye W. Evans
Courtenaye W. Evans, 59, of Huntsville died Saturday at her home. The memorial service will be Thursday at 10 am. at St. Stephens Episcopal Church with Dr. Jacob W. Owensby officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Evans was an accomplished painter and sculptor. She had several volumes of poetry published and was a lifelong Episcopalian.
Survivors include her husband, Derryl Evans; one daughter, Cathy Stepchuck of Northport; one brother, David Edward Weeks of Clinton, Miss.; and three granddaughters, Anna, Sara and Courtenaye Stepchuck of Northport.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Stephens Episcopal Church.
L.G. Fairbanks Sr.
DECATUR - L.G. "Sarge Fairbanks Sr., 65, of 1411 Beech St. Southeast died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home in Athens with the Rev. Alman Dennard officiating.
Burial will be in Bottoms Cemetery.
Mr. Fairbanks retired from Brown & Root Construction Inc. in Houston, was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict and Vietnam war, a prisoner of war, retired after 23 years and was preceded in death by one son, Curtis Wayne Fairbanks, and his wife, Estelle Clark Fairbanks.
Survivors include his wife, Willie J. Weatherly Fairbanks of Townsend, Tenn.; two daughters, Karen Fairbanks Webb of Oak Grove, La., and Joyce Fairbanks Holmes of Decatur; two sons, Larry Gene Fairbanks Jr. of Grant and Timothy Brian Fairbanks Holmes of Decatur; three brothers, Ottis Fairbanks of Tennessee, Carl Fairbanks and W.T. Fairbanks, both of Decatur; seven sisters, Doris Keen of Shepard, Texas, Maggie Kaney of Alexander City, Pat Elliott of Decatur, Kathy Thompson, Judy Elliott, both of Rusk, Texas, Betty Hardiman and Brinda Blagburn, both of Price ville; and 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Geraldine Fuson
KEMAH, Texas - Geraldine Fuson, 68, died Thursday in Mechanicsville, Va. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Albertville Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Jamie Perigo officiating.
Burial will be in Marshall Memorial Gardens.
She was formerly of Boaz and Richmond, Va.
Survivors include two sons, Jacob Fuson of Pineville, Ky., and Titus L. Fuson of Mechanicsville; one daughter, Joann Dobbs of Kemah; two brothers, Paul Smith of Lynn, Ind., and John H. Smith Jr. of Scottsboro; three sisters, Lois Koch of St. Marys, Ohio, Emma Jean Ellis of Guntersville and Helen Shull of Boaz; and six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
James H. Hastings
MERIDIANVILLE - James Hugh Hastings, 87, of Chinaberry Lane died Monday. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Concord Cemetery.
Gallant Funeral Home of Hazel Green is in charge of burial.
Mr. Hastings was a native of Madison County, a retired painter and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley F. Phillips of Meridianville and Ann Knauff of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m at the funeral home.
Leona H. Hobbs
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Leona Howard Hobbs, 98, died Monday. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
She was formerly of Athens.
Rozena B. Holland
PISGAH - Rozena Bell Bethune Holland, 86, died Monday at her home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with the Rev. Bill Venable and the Rev. James Knight officiating.
Burial was to be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Dutton.
Survivors include three daughters, Vera Cisco and Evola Weeks, both of Scottsboro, and Kathryn Knight of Pisgah; four sisters, Nellie Ruth Johnson of Roanoke, Bernice Fickey of Lynette and Leora Richey and Lorene Pace, both of Ider; one brother, R.B. Bethune of Ringgold, Ga.; and 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Roland Hughes
MADISON - Roland Hughes, 87, died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at noon at Moses Chapel Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. George Franklin officiating.
Burial will be in Royal Cemetery with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include six daughters, Bessie Burress of Louisville, Ky., Emma Holden, Rosanna Hughes and Alice Allison, all of Madison, and Earline Robinson and Doris Allison, both of Huntsville; four sons, Robert Hughes and Roland Hughes Jr., both of Chattanooga, Tenn., Willie James Hughes of Columbus, Ohio, and Jerry Lee Baker of Huntsville; one sister, Emma Teague of Madison; and 31 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Marvin Kennedy
CHATTANOOGA - Marvin 'M.O. Kennedy, 93, died Monday. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Bryant and the Rev. Mark Womack officiating.
Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery.
Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by his wife, Effie Kennedy.
Survivors include one daughter, Marie Corder of Chattanooga; one son, Derval Kennedy of Chattanooga; and three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Jim E. Lang
Jim Ed Lang, 99, of Huntsville died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Morris officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Edwards of Huntsville; three daughters, Eva Louise Sisk of Meridianville, Thelma Jean Adams of Harvest and Readis Esslinger of Huntsville; one son, Charles R. Lang of Meridianville; one brother, Virgil Lang of Florida; and 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Grady Maynor
SCOTTSBORO - Grady Maynor, 73, died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with the Rev. Donna Airheart and the Rev. David Hall officiating.
Burial was to be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro.
Mr. Maynor was a World War II veteran, having served in the Navy as a radar technician aboard the U.S.S. Leyte. He retired from the lumber business with 40 years service with W.J. Word Lumber Co., Mead and Moss Lumber Co. He was a mason and a member of the Aspel Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise Dulaney Maynor; and one son, Steve Maynor of Scottsboro.
William B. McIntyre
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - William Benjimin McIntyre, 82, died Monday. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Third Baptist Church with the Rev. James Harrell officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens with Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville in charge.
Mr. McIntyre was a native of Kentucky and had lived in Huntsville more than 30 years. He retire from Woody Anderson Ford and was an active member of the church. Children knew him and his wife as Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruby Darlene Brigance.
Survivors include his wife, Maudie C. McIntyre of Fayetteville; one son, Jackie McIntyre of Huntsville; five daughters, Rose McIntyre Beaver of Virginia Beach, Va., Margo Zmarzlinski of Naperville, Ill., Lynne Buschhorn of Tampa, Fla., Karen Ballard of Lakeland, Fla., and Gayle Cook of San Antonio, Texas; one stepson, Marion Ray Humphrey of Huntsville; one stepdaughter, Paula Terril of Hazel Green ; one brother, Chester McIntyre of Beaver Dam, Ky.; three sisters, Laura King of Beaver Dam, Lettie Killion of Demonite, Ind., and Vilora Oliver of Louisville, Ky.; and 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

ATHENS - Willie Green Meredith, 88, of 19656 Alabama 99 died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with K.C. Poole officiating.
Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Meredith was a native of Limestone County, retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and a member of Green brier Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene Meredith; one son, Wilson Gene Meredith of Holland, Mich.; and eight grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Phyllis L. Rogers
HAZEL GREEN - Phyllis Lorina Rogers, 73, died Sunday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Underwood officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Survivors include two daughters, Theda Parson of Laceys Spring and Janie Neigbors of Harvest; four sons, Tommy Rogers and Terry Rogers, both of Toney, Ricky Rogers of Huntsville and Phillip Rogers of Hazel Green ; and 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Fred T. Smith, 80, of 4 Bugger Hollow Road died Sunday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home in Fayetteville with the Rev. Roger Holley officiating.
Burial will be in Flintville Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was a native of DeKalb County, a retired Lincoln County Schools bus driver, a World War II veteran and a member of Lincoln Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, June Rogers Smith of Fayetteville; one daughter, Fredna J. Smith of Fayetteville; three sons, Kenneth Smith, Dennis Smith and Ricky Smith, all of Fayetteville; one sister, Iris Bennett of Nashville; two brothers, Robbie Smith of Fayetteville and Verbon Smith of Winchester, Tenn.; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
