HARTSELLE - The Rev. E.M. Barnes, 83, died today at a local hospital. Peck Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Anne A. Bennett
Anne Armstrong Bennett, 79, of Huntsville died Saturday. The funeral was Monday at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Duncan Hunter and the Rev. Dr. Mark Chapman officiating.
Heritage Chapel Funeral Home of Tuscaloosa was in charge of burial.
Mrs. Bennett was formerly of Tuscaloosa. She studied physics at Sophie Newcomb College.
Survivors include her husband, William R. Bennett of Tuscaloosa; one daughter, Patricia Purushotham of Huntsville; one son, Alan Bennett of Tuscaloosa; one brother Edward Bruce Armstrong of Athens, Ga.; and one grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church in Tuscaloosa.
Pearl G. Boaz
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Pearl Groce Boaz, 97, died Tuesday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at McCauley Funeral Home in Fayetteville with the Rev. Denman Frazer officiating.
Mrs. Boaz was a native of Lincoln County, Tenn., and was preceded in death by her husband, Horace W. Boaz, who retired from Redstone Arsenal.
Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Adams of Nashville; one sister, Georgia Epps of Fayetteville; one brother, G.A. Groce of Fayetteville; and two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Ernest C. Brock III
TUSCALOOSA - Ernest Cole Brock III, 36, died Saturday at his home. The funeral was Monday at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Chesser officiating.
Burial was in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.
Survivors include one son, Ernest Cole Brock IV of Tuscaloosa; his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Ernest Cole Brock Jr.; two sisters, Rita Brock Phifer of Tuscaloosa and Becky Brock Sillers of Birmingham; and one brother, Greg Brock of Huntsville.
Tyrrell E. Brown
BOAZ - Tyrrell E. Brown, 67, of Boaz died Monday at his home. There will be no funeral.
Etowah Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Sardis City was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Brown was a native of Kansas and served in the military. He was retired after 27 years with IBM.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Brown; three sons, Terry Brown of San Diego, Curtis Brown of Boaz and Anthony Brown of Texas; one stepson, Mark Schmidt of Virginia; one brother, James L. Brown of Florida; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Gracie M. Cain
TONEY - Gracie Mae Cain, 81, of Old Railroad Bed Road died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home chapel in Hazel Green with the Rev. Sonny Kirk officiating.
Burial will be in New Sharon Cemetery.
Mrs. Cain was a housewife.
Survivors include her husband, Joames H. Cain of Toney; one daughter, Vicki Marlene Perry of Madison; five sons, Billy Wayne Cain, Ricky Dale Cain and Bobby Eugene Cain, all of Toney, James Charles Cain of Hazel Green and Tommy Ray Cain of Huntsville; and 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Nellarene P. Cobb
DECATUR - Nellarene Putman Cobb, 68, of 2915 Frost Drive died Monday at an Athens hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Ron Owens officiating.
Burial will be in Barkley Cemetery.
Mrs. Cobb was a Baptist and retired from TVA.
Survivors include one son, Timmy Dwain Davis of Rogersville; two daughters, Deborah Diana Johnson of Athens and Polly Elaine Cobb of Killen; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Roy A. Duncan
MADISON - Roy Anderson Duncan, 78, died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Woodland Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Maddox officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Duncan was a native of Carrollton and had lived in Madison County 35 years. He was a member of the church and a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Duncan of Madison; one son, David A. Duncan of Madison; one daughter, Joyce Terry of Madison; two sisters, Becky Pidde of Charleston, S.C., and Mary Murphy of Birmingham; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m at the funeral home.
John D. Gray
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - John D. Gray, 87, of 7th Avenue died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Gray was a native of Lincoln County, Tenn., a member of Fayetteville Nazarene Church and a self-employed painter.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah Crabtree Gray of Fayetteville; one daughter, Martha Butler of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one stepdaughter, Christine Riggle of Fort Wayne; and four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

FORT PAYNE - Edward Lee Holcomb, 60, died Sunday at his home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel in Rainsville with the Rev. Kenneth Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Brawley Holcomb of Fort Payne; one daughter, Gay Holcomb Gilbreath of Rainsville; and one grandson, Wade Gilbreath of Rainsville.
Visitation was to be today at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Larry W. Jackson
MADISON - Larry W. Jackson, 46, of 557 Capshaw Road died Monday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Madison Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Hovis and the Rev. Ed Edger officiating.
Burial will be in Fords Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Knapp Jackson of Madison; his mother, Lillie Jackson of Madison; one brother, Edward Jackson of Madison; three sisters, Mary Taylor and Charollotte Soliman, both of Madison, and Louise Holladay of Huntsville; and several nieces and nephews.

ALBERTVILLE - Herman C. Lenderman, 85, of 508 Kimberly St. died Monday at a local nursing home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial was to be in Crestwood Cemetery in Gadsden.
Survivors include his wife, Ovaline Lenderman; one daughter, Marlene Furgerson of Irondale; one son, Ray Lenderman of Trussville; two stepsons, Kenneth Leeth of Opelika and Jim Brown of Georgia; one sister, Janie Nolan of Florida; one brother, Robert Lenderman of Rainbow City; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Meveline L. Rogers
DECATUR - Meveline Long Rogers, 81, died Tuesday. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Mike Nix officiating.
Shelton Funeral Home of Decatur is in charge of burial.
She was a native of Lawrence County.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
William Smith
FORT PAYNE - William "Bill Smith, 64, died Tuesday at a Birmingham hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Quinton Poe and the Rev. Jim Griffin officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Wells.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Smith; two sons, Kevin Smith of Worth, Ill., and Karl Smith of Fort Payne; two brothers, Rayburn Smith of Pisgah and Joseph Smith of Fort Payne; and four grandchildren.
Kenneth Todd
GUNTERSVILLE - Kenneth Todd, 42, of 106 Burroughs Drive died Monday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Claysville Holiness Church.
Burial was to be in Old Prospect Cemetery with Carr Funeral Home of Guntersville in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Todd; one son, Cory Jackson of Guntersville; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Moore and Amanda Pendergrass, both of Guntersville; two stepsons, Tim Blair and B.J. Johnson, both of Guntersville; parents, Joseph and Hattie Todd of Bessemer; two sisters, Ginger Rametta and Betty Todd, both of Bessemer; and five grandchildren.
