Jimmy L. Adams
UNION GROVE - Jimmy Lee Adams, 62, of 70190 Union Grove Road, died Tuesday in a local hospital. A graveside service will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery with Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Adams; three sons, Charles S. Adams of Tennessee, Curtis A. Adams of Indiana and Jimmy D. Adams of Union Grove; four sisters, Doris Walker of Tennessee, Bonnie Bridges of Union Grove, Helen Hill of Arab and Ann Denton of Huntsville; two brothers, Albert J. Adams of Arab and Larry B. Adams of Indiana; and four grandchildren.
Nellie S. Brannum
OWENS CROSS ROADS - Nellie Sisk Brannum, 83, died Wednesday at her home. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Oakley Drake and Dennis McAnally officiating.
Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery.
Mrs. Brannum was a native of Jackson County, but lived most of her life in Madison County. She was a member of Big Cove Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Barry Lenard Brannum.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Brannum; three sons, A.J. Brannum of Brownsboro, Lenard Brannum of New Hope and Ben Brannum of Owens Cross Roads; and 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Vanna D. Crider
BOAZ - Vanna Doreen Crider, 72, of Boaz died Tuesday in a local hospital. A graveside service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Boaz with Carr Funeral Home of Boaz directing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bob Crider.
Survivors include three daughters, Andrea Schnell of Iowa, Kathy Verkamp of California and Becky McHenry of Boaz; one son, Mike Lamb of California; one stepson, Jerry Crider of Gadsden; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
John J. Farmer
SCOTTSBORO - John Joseph Farmer, 70, died Monday at a local hospital. No funeral is planned. Spry Funeral Home will be in charge of burial.
Mr. Farmer retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1968 and moved to Swearingen. He then taught at DAR school.
Survivors include his wife, Emma L. Farmer of Scottsboro; one daughter, Cynthia Skinner of Huntsville; and two sons, Dewey Farmer of Huntsville and Joe Farmer of Utah.
C.G. Glenn
ARAB - C.G. Glenn, 74, of 227 10th St. NW died Wednesday at his home. The funeral will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Gilliam Springs Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Arab City Cemetery with Gober Funeral Home of Arab directing.
Survivors include his wife, Shelia Glenn; one daughter, Joyce Lambert of Blountsville; three sons, Charles Glenn and Robert Glenn, both of Arab, and Wayne Glenn of Georgia; and eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Betty P. Henderson
Betty Pike Henderson, 67, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a local hospital. Valhalla Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Sara T. Jeffery
ATHENS - Sara Tillman Jeffery, 81, of 208 North Houston St. died Wednesday at her home. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Drs. Andrew Wolfe and Steven Screws officiating.
Mrs. Jeffery, a native of Limestone County was a graduate of Athens State College and had studied at the Julliard School of Music in New York City. As a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church, she served as president of the United Methodist Women and as pianist for a Sunday school class. She was a member of the Athenian Study Club and taught private piano lessons for 54 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace G. Jeffery.
Survivors include two sons, Wallace G. Jeffery Jr. of Mobile and William T. Jeffery of Florence; and five grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Athens or to a favorite charity.
Visitation will be Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church parlor.
George W. Loudermilk
ATTALLA - George Washington Loudermilk, 76, died Tuesday in Gadsden. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at the Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar.
Burial was to be in New Canaan Cemetery in Dutton.
Mr. Loudermilk was a decorated World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Summerford Loudermilk; three daughters, Barbara Ann Barnard of Attalla, Kathy Mae Straley of Newnan, Ga., and Betty Jean Lennox of Suwanee, Ga.; two sons, Bobby Lee Loudermilk of Dunwoody, Ga., and George Allan Loudermilk of Henagar; two sisters, Lucille Bains of Rome, Ga., and Ollie Mae Studdath of Pine Bluff, Ark.; and 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mina B. Mitchell
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Mina Belle Mitchell, 82, of 410 Hillview St. died Wednesday at a Lincoln County nursing home. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Brothers Caroll Hickman and Joe Thomlison officiating.
Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Washington Street Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olan "Doak" Mitchell.
Survivors include one brother, James Bryant of Pulaski; one sister, Mable Douthit of Pulaski; a special daughter, Darlene Lowe of Hendersonville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Ruth M. Nailer
ALBERTVILLE - Ruth Mae Nailer, 80, of 104 Tanna Hill Ave. died Wednesday at her home. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
The body will be at the Oak Grove Holiness Church in Grant from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Survivors include five daughters, Barbara Parker, Nellie Mikel, Joyce Cassels and Dorothy Coody, all of Albertville, and Juanita Rakestraw of Gadsden; three sons, Billy Nailer and Charles Nailer, both of Albertville, and Roger Nailer of Altoona; six sisters, Vester Guthrie of Missouri, Bertha Guffey and Dollie Phillips, both of Scottsboro, Louise Foster of Washington, Serena Grove of Fyffe and Bonnie Stapler of Tennessee; three brothers, James Guffey of Washington and Owen Guffey and Hayden Guffey, both of Scottsboro; and 31 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Norvel J. Pedigo
SCOTTSBORO - Norvel Jackson Pedigo, 71, of 306 Beverly St., died Tuesday at his home. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Scottsboro Free Holiness Church with Shirly Byrom, Joe Ventress and James Brazier officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Grant Memorial Chapel in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Holland Pedigo; two sons, Jackie Pedigo of Huntsville and Johnnie Pedigo of Scottsboro; four sisters, Kanzady Summers, Odell Summers and Francess Bandy, all of Smithville, Tenn., and Lorene Chasteen of Winchester, Tenn.; one half-brother, Elvis Pedigo of Smithville; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His body will be at the church before the funeral.
Robert D. Turbeville
Robert David "Roach" Turbeville, 51, of Huntsville died Wednesday at his home. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Brother Hal Howard officiating.
Spry Funeral Home will be in charge of burial.
Mr. Turbeville was a native of Birmingham.
Survivors include one daughter, Laurie Tilley of Scottsboro, and four brothers, Charles David Turbeville of Hazel Green and William Milton Turbeville, Dannie Eugene Turbeville and Roger Dale Turbeville, all of Huntsville.
Douglas Ware
Douglas Hugh Lee Ware, 67, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mr. Ware was a native of Charlotte, N.C.
Survivors include his wife, Eui Suk Ware of Huntsville; one daughter, Patricia Johnson of Colorado; five sons, Ron Ware and Don Ware, both of Huntsville, Sa Shin No of Korea, Sa Hyun No of New York and Sa Baek No of California; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cleveland Waters
ALBERTVILLE - Cleveland Waters, 60, of 601 Sectionline Road died Monday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Albertville.
Burial was to be in Cove Springs Cemetery.
Survivors include five daughters, Debra Abernathy, Lisa Deerman and Regina Lancaster, all of Albertville, Betty Martin of Geraldine and Sandra Rothe of Birmingham; two sons, Bobby Waters and William Waters, both of Albertville; one sister, Willie H. Lahayne of Altoona; one brother, Leon Waters of Altoona; and 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pauline Watson
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Pauline Watson, 86, of Simmons Road died Wednesday at a Lincoln County nursing home. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home with the Rev. Cleo Moon officiating.
Burial will be in Talley Cemetery.
Mrs. Watson, a native of Marshall County, was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a retired presser at the Jonothan Logan dress plant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Watson.
Survivors include four daughters, Sandra Ivey, Karen Ivey and Raetta McBay, all of Fayetteville, and Diane Sugg of Lewisburg; one sister, Nannie Sue Gilbert of Lewisburg and 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mary F. Woo
BIRMINGHAM - Mary Frances Woo, 78, died Tuesday. The funeral will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Ridouts Roebuck Chapel with Dr. Wayne Scott officiating.
Burial will be in Deerfoot Baptist Church Cemetery in Trussville.
Mrs. Woo was a member of Deerfoot Baptist Church. She and her husband were owners of the Chop Suey Inn restaurant.
Survivors include her husband, William H. Woo Sr.; three sons, William H. Woo Jr. of Birmingham, Thomas Wendell Woo of Huntsville and Paul S. Woo of Chelsea; one daughter, Mary Ann Lopresti of Alabaster; and three sisters and nine grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the fuenral home.
