Leslie T. Bell
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Leslie Truman Bell, 63, died Wednesday. The funeral was held Sunday at W.T. Wilson Funeral Home chapel in Rainsville.
Burial was in Broadway Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Bell was a native of Dekalb County, a former resident of Rainsville and a veteran.
Survivors include one daughter, L. Chastine Bell-Pariki of Baltimore; two sons, Leslie Truman Bell Jr. and L. Andrew Bell, both of Denver, N.C.; his mother, Chastine Gray Bell of Douglasville, Ga.; three sisters, Lorene Bell and Shirley McDaniel, both of Douglasville, and Gwen Robinson of College Park, Ga.; and one brother, Troy Bell of Austell, Ga.

Ralph E. Bender Sr.
RAINSVILLE - Ralph Edward Bender Sr., 69, died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Don White officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Bender; one daughter, Mamie ''Cissy'' Elaine Gorham of Pisgah; one son, Ralph Bender Jr. of Rainsville; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation was to be today at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Carla J. Bey
HAZEL GREEN - Carla Jean Bey, 34, died Saturday at a Huntsville hospital. Gallant Funeral Home will announce arrangements.

Charles L. Brewer
GRANT - Charles Leon Brewer, 73 of 1800 Old Union Road died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Grant Memorial Chapel with Bro. Clayton Tuggle and Bro. Brian Jenkins officiating.
Burial will be in Panquin Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Brewer of Grant; one daughter, Judith Carolyn Mayhall of Grant; three sons, Allen Dale Brewer of Parrish, Danny Lynn Brewer of Adamsville and Michael Kevin Brewer of Georgia; three sisters, Flora Sims of Guntersville, Ruby Chandler of Albertville and Paula Cash of Atlanta; two brothers, Donald Brewer and Phillip Brewer, both of Grant.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 p.m.
Memorials may be to the American Heart Association and Blount Hospitality House at Huntsville Hospital.

Patricia J. Carnegie
MERIDIANVILLE - Patricia J. Carnegie, 66, died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Matthews and Bro. George Cobb officiating.
Entombment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Valhalla Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Carnegie was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Meridianville.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley Carnegie; two daughters, Nancy Schremser of New Market and Vicki C. Milam of Huntsville; one sister, Margaret Daye of Scottsboro; two brothers, Kenneth Utterback of Ohio and John Utterback of Kansas; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Meridianville, Ala., 35759.

Eva A. Gibson
DECATUR - Eva Ann Gibson, 85, died Sunday at a Huntsville nursing home. The funeral will be today at 7 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Orville Collins officiating.
A graveside service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Basham Cemetery.
Mrs. Gibson was a native of Morgan County and previously worked at Shott Industries.
Survivors include her husband, Chester Gibson; one son, James Lee Jones of Florida; one daughter, Anita Brewer of Moulton; one stepson, James Gibson of Decatur; two stepdaughters, Barbara Sperr and Faye Agee, both of Huntsville; four sisters, Lula Mae Ryan of Decatur, Beula Lane of Danville, Elsie Wynn of Florida and Christine Pike McRight of Decatur; and 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sandra A. Hensley
MADISON - Sandra Anita Hensley, 55, of 551 Highland Drive died Saturday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Madison with the Rev. David Tew officiating.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Florence City Cemetery with Madison Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Hensley was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Madison.
Survivors include her husband, James C. Hensley; one daughter, Amy Elizabeth Montgomery of Madison; her mother, Esther Laverne Newton of Florence; two sisters, Gloria Cole of Albuquerque, N.M., and Glenda Sharp of Florence; two brothers, Ronald Newton of Durnet, Texas, and Thomas H. Newton of Canyon Lake, Texas; and one grandson, Jordan Tyler Montgomery.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

David A. Highsmith
ATHENS - David Alvin Highsmith, 60, died Sunday at a Athens hospital. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home will announce arrangements later.

Susie Kirkham
Susie Kirkham of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. A memorial service will be Tuesday at 6 p.m. Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Kirkham; one daughter, Kandi Kirkham Ledbetter of Huntsville; two grandchildren, Bree Ann Kirkham and James Thomas Ledbetter, both of Huntsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Darrell H. Marshall
Darrell Hovis Marshall, 68, of Huntsville died Sunday at his home. A graveside service will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Stateline Cemetery with Tim Orbison officiating.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Marshall was a native and lifelong resident of Madison County.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Marshall; one son, Tharon Wayne Marshall of Gurley; one brother, Billy Marshall of Fayetteville, Tenn.; one sister, Brenda Marshall of Fayetteville; one grandson, Jeremy Marshall of Gurley; and two nephews.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jack Nix
KELSO, Tenn. - Jack Nix, 63, of 12 Franklin Hollow Road died today at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Kirk Smith and the Rev. Billy Langford officiating.
Burial will be in Kelso Cemetery.
Mr. Nix was a native of Lincoln County and a former employee of NASA and the Lincoln County School System. He was a member of the Kelso Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Nix of Kelso; a stepdaughter, Pam Lovell of Huntsville; and two step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday after 5 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.

Jimmy E. Smith
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Jimmy Ernest Smith, 68, died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Bevills Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Britton officiating.
Burial will be in Bevills Chapel Cemetery with Gallant Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Smith was a native of Madison County, Ala. He was a carpenter and member of Hazel Green Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Vendl of Hammond, Ind., and Vicki Stephens of Merrillville, Ind.; one stepdaughter, Brenda Cranfill of Hazel Green ; one stepson, Ronnie Jones of Toney; three sisters, Carolyn Landman of New Market, Doris Hoffpauir of Pearland, Texas, and Linda Price of Hazel Green ; one brother, John Smith of Fayetteville; a special friend, Annabelle Williams Smith of Fayetteville; and seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kenneth Smitherman
LACEY'S SPRING - Kenneth Smitherman, 64, of Lacey's Spring died Sunday at his home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Twickenham South.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens Cemetery with Twickenham Funeral Home South in charge.
Mr. Smitherman was a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Smitherman; one daughter, Lori Walton of Huntsville; one son, Keith Smitherman of Huntsville; his mother, Mary Smitherman of Montevallo; one sister, Caroline Wilson of Nashville; one brother, Larry Smitherman of Montevallo; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be tonight from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

John O. Taylor
PROSPECT, Tenn. - John O. Taylor, 70, of Dog Branch Road died Saturday at a Murfreesboro, Tenn., hospital. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Everett Conn officiating.
Burial was in Athens Memory Gardens.
Mr. Taylor was a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalee Taylor; five sisters, Virgina Pitts of Decatur, Christine Clem, Mary Clark and Faye Logston, all of Athens, and Magdelene Holloway of Titusville, Fla.; one brother, Marvin S. Taylor of Huntsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Henry Wales
ELKMONT - Henry Wales, 88, died Saturday at a Athens nursing home. The funeral was today at 2 p.m. at Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home chapel with Bros. Carl Witty and Bill McGregor officiating.
Burial was in Hastings Cemetery.
Mr. Wales had worked at Hollands Gin and was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Wales, and one son, J.C. Wales
Survivors include five daughters, Pauline Jones, Ann Pack and Daisy Roper, all of Ardmore, Ala., Irene Mitchell of Decatur and Margaret Benefield of Holly Pond, Ala.; and 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Lonzo A. Wilson
BOAZ - Lonzo Andrew ''Lonnie'' Wilson, 97, of Boaz died Saturday at a local nursing home. The funeral was to be today at 3 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Boaz.
Burial was to be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Survivors include two sisters, Mae Cross and Pauline Brown, both of Boaz.
