Susan L. Beddingfield
SKYLINE - Susan Louise Beddingfield, 24, died Friday at her home. The graveside service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Skyline Cemetery with the Rev. Howard Posey officiating.
Skyline Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Survivors include her parents, George Harold and Debra Beddingfield of Skyline; and several other relatives.
Visitation will be today at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Tommie Carpenter
Tommie Carpenter, 93, of Huntsville died Friday at a local hospital. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Carpenter was preceded in death by her husband, Bill G. Carpenter.
Survivors include one son, William Lee Carpenter of Huntsville; and five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Bernice R. Cordell
ALBERTVILLE - Bernice R. Cordell, 65, of 31-A Alameda Court died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Boaz.
Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra Seay of Albertville; a son, John W. Cordell of Albertville; a sister, Vesta Hopper of California; two brothers, Carl Buckelew and Welch Buckelew, both of Albertville; and four grandchildren.
Martha D. Duke
Martha Divinnie Duke, 81, of Huntsville died Saturday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery in Hustburg, Tenn.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Duke was a native of Hustburg and a former legal secretary for the Ford, Caldwell and Payne law firm. She was also an American Red Cross volunteer several years at Humana Medical Center, now Huntsville Hospital East.
Survivors include her husband, Floyd Duke of Huntsville; two sons, James F. Duke of Huntsville and Daniel H. Duke of Tuscaloosa; two daughters, Delores Sharp of Fayetteville and Jenelle Hayes of Falkville; two brothers, John Divinnie of Waverly, Tenn. and Clint Divinnie of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two sisters, Catherine Wilcox of Knoxville, Tenn., and Jean Myers of McMinnville, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cansis B. Hatley
ALBERTVILLE - Cansis Belvie Hatley, 87, of 109 Baltimore Ave. died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Boaz.
Burial will be later in California.
Survivors include one daughter, Martha Thorson of Nevada; one son, Oye Hatley of California; one sister, Marie Smith of Albertville; and six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Sara L. Laster
Sara L. Laster, 75, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Steve Mercy officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Survivors include two sons, Samuel E. Laster of Huntsville and William H. Laster of Florida; one sister, Earnestine Smith of Georgia; three brothers, Red Ray, Eugene Ray and Joseph Ray, all of Georgia; and five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m at the funeral home.
Mable O. Raney
Mable Oldfield Raney, 81, of Huntsville died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Don Pendergrass officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Raney was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Raney; and one son, Donald P. Raney.
Survivors include one sister, Mildred Tucker of Huntsville; one grandson, Michael Allen Raney of Huntsville; one granddaughter, Jill R. Taylor of Montgomery; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Huntsville Park Baptist Church building fund.
Visitation will be today from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
John F. Renfroe
John Francis Renfroe, 77, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Byrom White officiating.
Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Stones River National Cemetery in Murfreesboro, Tenn., with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Renfroe was a native of Madison County, a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and was retired from the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Ivella Renfroe; one son, Johnathan E. Renfroe of Albertville; two daughters, Deborah Louise Renfroe Owens and Jessica Leighan Renfroe, both of Huntsville; two stepdaughters, Leatha Faye Hill of Las Vegas and Karren J. Weeks of Huntsville; one sister, Myrtle Baron of Huntsville; and six grandchildren.
Jenice G. Saltz
ELKMONT - Jenice Gail Saltz, 61, of 23925 Pepper Farm Lane died Friday at her home. The funeral will be Monday at 11:45 a.m. at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville, Ill.
Limestone Chapel Funeral Home of Athens is in charge.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Eggum of Elkmont; one son, Charles Thomas Saltz of Christal Lake, Ill.; her mother, Ione Adkins of Grayslake, Ill.; three brothers, Clifford Adkins of Roundlake Beach, Ill., Carper Adkins of Wisconsin and Freddie Adkins of Chicago; three sisters, Betty Regan of Chicago, Mae Braunsdor of Roundlake Beach, Ill., and Margaret Norman of Rutherford, Tenn.; and three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
William C. Sears
SCOTTSBORO - William C. "Buddy" Sears, 73, of 6161 Swearengin Road died Friday. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Grant Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Tim Parrish officiating.
Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery with Grant Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, June Atchley Sears of Swearengin; six daughters, Lucy Hill of Estill Springs, Tenn., and Janice Scott, Diania Keller, Debbie Geckles and Crystal Sears, all of Swearengin; one son, Donald Sears of Colorado; one brother, Donald Frank Sears of Wisconsin; and 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Verlon F. Shaver
GUNTERSVILLE - Verlon Frank Shaver, 60, of 712 Ringold St. died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville.
Entombment will be in Crestview Mausoleum.
Survivors include two daughters, Francien Sharp of Albertville and Denise Denson of Florida; one son, Timothy Shaver of Albertville; mother, Marcella Shaver of Guntersville; two sisters, Freda Bowles of Mobile and Faye Shelby of Albertville; two brothers, Don Shaver of Guntersville and Garlon Shaver of Albertville; and eight grandchildren.
Dorothy L. Shelton
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Dorothy Lillian Shelton, 72, of 19 Tipton Road died Friday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Joe Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
Mrs. Shelton was a member of Park City Church of Christ and a housewife.
Survivors include one stepson, Larry Butler of Grenada, Miss.; two stepdaughters, Marilyn Goodwin and Barbara Butler, both of McDonough, Ga.; two brothers, Bradford Cole and Watson Cole of New York; and eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
