Bonnie H. Ashley
GROVE OAK Bonnie Hilley Ashley, 73, died Tuesday at Albertville Nursing Home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Jeanne Stiefel and Cathy Green, both of Grove Oak; one stepdaughter, Kay McElhaney of Fort Payne; one stepson, Tim Ashley of Grove Oak; and four grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
Alexander Barefield
Alexander Barefield, 50, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Draper Memorial Church of God in Christ with Elder Dave Draper officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Royal Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Barefield was awarded the Bronze Star in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from NASA as a hydro laser technician after 23 years there. Survivors include his wife, Judi Barefield of Huntsville; one daughter, Demetria Barefield of Huntsville; one stepdaughter, Olivia Langford of Huntsville; five sisters, Linda Diane Barefield, Vivian Ann Barefield, Helena Sue Barefield and Marshella Scherese Barefield, all of Dayton, Ohio, and Margaret Ann Arnold of Middleton, Ohio; two brothers, John Barefield and Cordell Barefield, both of Hamilton, Ohio; and two grandchildren. His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Mildred H. Brown
Mildred Horton Brown, 72, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at noon at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Harvest with the Rev. George Moore Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace with Royal Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Brown was a native of Lacey's Spring and a member of the church. Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Lynn Brown of Huntsville and Emma Godfreg of Southfield, Mich.; nine sons, James
Horton, Larry Horton, Carl Ray Brown, Charles Brown, Michael Brown, Dennis Brown, Mark A. Brown and Jeffrey Brown, all of Huntsville, and Roy Lee Brown of Athens; and 26 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild. Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Woodrow Curry
HAZEL GREEN Woodrow Curry, 80, of Butter and Egg Road died Tuesday at a Huntsville nursing home. The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Gallant Funeral Home chapel in Hazel Green with Ben Renegar officiating. Burial will be in New Sharon Cemetery. Mr. Curry was a native of Lincoln County, Tenn., a retired carpenter and farmer and a World War II Army veteran. Survivors include four sons, Larry Curry and Randy Curry, both of Hazel Green, Eddie Curry of Florence and Jim Curry; one sister, Alta Webb of Scottsboro; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Alexander Gibbons Jr.
Alexander Algiers Gibbons Jr., 51, of Huntsville died Saturday at his home. The memorial service will be Thursday at 6 p.m. at Royal Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Wayne P. Snodgrass officiating. Survivors include one daughter, Alison Gibbons of New York; his mother, Margaret Gibbons of New York; two sisters, Karen Artis of Huntsville and Lane McCarty of Hawaii; and two brothers, Mark Gibbons of New York and Hunter Gibbons of Ozark, Ala.
Edwin A. Hartline
IDER Edwin Avan Hartline, 30, died Saturday. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with the Rev. Watson Williams officiating. Burial was to be in Fuller Cemetery in Ider. Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Eaton; two stepdaughters, Tiffany Eaton and Tristian Eaton, both of Ider; his mother, Helen Ruth Young of Pisgah; his father, Eddie Alvis Hartline of Ider; his stepmother, Martha Hartline of Ider; his stepfather, Billy Ray Young of Ider; two sisters, Edie Annette Hartline Rogers and Vanity Raye Young, both of Pisgah; and two stepbrothers, Jimmy Sinns Jr. and Danny Sinns, both of Ider.
Norma Henderson
HARTSELLE Norma Lee Sharpley Henderson, 91, of 410 Booth St. died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hartselle City Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Stegall officiating. Peck Funeral Home is in charge of burial. She was a member of First Christian Church in Hartselle and was preceded in death by her husband, J.V. Henderson; and one daughter, Joanne Henderson. Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Halford of Hartselle; one sister, Carolyn Logan of Hartselle; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Memorial donations may be made to the church or a favorite charity. Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Oliver K. Jarrett
ATHENS Oliver Kyle Jarrett, 88, of Edgewood Road died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel in Athens with the Rev. Bill Irby and the Rev. Ralph Stout officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Jarrett was a native of Limestone County. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a former Kentucky Colonel, retired from the Louisville, Ky., Board of Education, and a member of Hobbs St. Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Aileene Jarrett of Athens; one brother, Altis A. Jarrett of Athens; and one sister, Lillie Mae Mitchell of Athens.
Grady Jones
SCOTTSBORO Dr. Grady Jones, 64, died Monday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Dr. George Cobb officiating. Burial was to be in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Scottsboro Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include his wife, Cleo Matthews Jones; one daughter, Lyda Jones of Homewood; two sons, Julian Jones of Scottsboro and Walter Jones of Homewood; two stepsons, Wade Brooks of Pelham and David Carter of Alpharetta, Ga.; one granddaughter; and one niece. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Scottsboro Public Library.
James E. Parvin
MADISON James Edward Parvin, 66, of 411 Carter Drive died Sunday at his home. The funeral was Tuesday at Madison Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. George Bark officiating. Burial will be in Faith Memorial Park. Mr. Parvin retired from the U.S. Navy and Wyle Labs. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn W. Parvin; one son, David Trotter of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; one daughter, Debra Brenner of Harvest; three sisters, Avalon McCrary of Madison, and Shelby Stephenson and Louise Gay, both of Tuscumbia; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Memorial donations may be made to the Nursery Fund of First Baptist Church of Madison.
Inez Pruett
GROVE OAK Inez Pruett, 83, died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Piney Grove Church with the Rev. Rayford Fricks and the Rev. Dennis Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Rainsville Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include three daughters, Topsy Murdock and Sally Pruett, both of Grove Oak, and Brenda Hart of Rainbow City; three sons, Charles Pruett and Bob Pruett, both of Grove Oak, and Larry Pruett of Henagar; one sister, Hazel Spears of Rainsville; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

LIBERTY HILL, Tenn. Jimmy Dean Risner, 40, of Liberty Hill Loop died Sunday at his home. The funeral was Tuesday at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Vicki Risner of Liberty Hill, Tenn.; two sons, Johnathan Risner and Nicholas Risner, both of Liberty Hill; his father, Coy Risner of Liberty Hill; four brothers, David Risner, Joe Risner, Tommy Risner and Donnie Risner, all of Liberty Hill; and two sisters, Martha Hodge of Huntsville and Becky Watson of Elkton, Tenn.
Terry G. Smith
PRICEVILLE Terry Glenn Smith, 48, died today at a Decatur hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Burningtree Cemetery. Survivors include one son, Casey Smith of Price ville; two daughters, Hesther Smith and Kelly Smith, both of Price ville; parents, Novis Smith and Emmitt Smith, both of Albertville; two brothers, Dennis Smith and Al Smith, both of Albertville; two sisters, Deborah Karr of Horton and Lara Price of Boaz; and one grandson. Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

LACEY'S SPRING Vernie Mae Williams, 88, died Monday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Glen Burks officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Williams. Survivors include two sons, Charles Walter Williams of Lacey's Spring and J.W. Williams of Tanner; two daughters, Mildred Lloyd of California and Jo Ann Davis of Arab; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
