Frederick R. Allen
Frederick Raymond Allen, 71, of Huntsville died Tuesday at his home. The memorial service will be Friday at 4 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel.
Mr. Allen was a native of Chicago, retired from Pennsylvania Central Railroad Co., a Navy veteran and had lived in Huntsville nine years.
Survivors include his wife, Silvi Allen of Huntsville; four daughters, Peggy Beaver of Evergreen Park, Ill., Jeannette Allen of Chicago, Mary Allen of Oaklawn, Ill., and Ann Allen of Huntsville; one son, Ray Allen of Huntsville; three sisters, Mary Songer and Rita Varjabadian, both of Illinois, and Florence Jaeger of Texas; two brothers, Ed Allen of Florida and Lester Allen of Missouri; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 3:30 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
Kenneth L. Bagwell
BOAZ - Kenneth Lee Bagwell, 49, of 1016 Bethany Road died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial was to be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Boaz.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Jean Bagwell; one daughter, Jennifer Bloodworth of Albertville; one son, Lucan Bagwell of Douglas; two stepdaughters, DeGail Miller of Horton and Nikki Burks of Guntersville; one stepson, David Baugh of Horton; parents, R.C. and Edna Bagwell of Albertville; two sisters, Carolyn Smith of Crossville and Rita Debord of Albertville; and five grandchildren.
Winnie R. Cooper
Winnie Rebecca Cooper, 87, of Huntsville died Tuesday at her home. There will be no funeral.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cooper was a native of Hardin, Ky., and had lived in Madison County four years.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary O. Shriver of Huntsville; one sister, Virginia Clark of Murray, Ky.; and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Neal Kir By
LYNCHBURG, Tenn. - Neal Kirby, 72, of 275 Main St. died Wednesday at his home. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Carroll Hickman officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Kirby was a World War II veteran, worked for the Tennessee Department of Transportation and was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Chick Kirby of Lynchburg; one stepson, Malcolm Edwards of Scottsville, Ky.; five sisters, Beatrice Alfred of Madison, Tenn., Martha Stewart of Huntland, Tenn., Sue Nunnley of Kingston, Tenn., Elizabeth Redmon of Vicksburg, Miss., and Ruth Barnes of Petersburg, Tenn.; two brothers, Edwin Kirby of Columbia, Tenn., and Charles Kirby of Kingsport, Tenn.; and one grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Joseph E. Maner
TUSCUMBIA - Joseph Elmer "Joe" Maner, 80, died Tuesday. The funeral was today at 10:30 a.m. at Morrison Funeral Home chapel in Tuscumbia with the Rev. Larry Harbin officiating.
Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Laura Gibson Maner of Tuscumbia; two sons, Bobby J. Maner of Memphis and Charlie M. Maner of Huntsville; one daughter, Angela Foster of Tuscumbia; three sisters, Clendora Bowden of California, Evelyn Fedderman of Louisville, Ky., and Lillian Collins of Trinity; and nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was today from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Tuscumbia.
Willie McCrary Sr.
Willie McCrary Sr., 63, of Huntsville died Tuesday at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Hamlet officiating.
Burial will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include five daughters, Joyce D. McCrary, Daisy A. Jamar and Patricia A. Brown, all of Huntsville, Brenda D. Hammonds of Harvest and Kimberly R. Saunders of Louisville, Ky.; four sons, Willie Otis McCrary of Harvest, Ernest W. McCrary of Bessemer and Willie L. McCrary Jr. and Ricky A. McCrary, both of Huntsville; three sisters, Earline Hardin, Pauline McCrary and Carrie A. Strong, all of Huntsville; one brother, Charlie McCrary of Huntsville; and 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Jeffrey McWilliams
KOSCIUSKO, Miss. - Jeffrey McWilliams, 34, died Sunday. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Bethany Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Crutcher officiating.
Burial will be in Crutcher Cemetery in New Market with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include one daughter, Jeniya McWilliams of Pontiac, Mich.; two sons, Jeffrey McWilliams Jr. and Jermaine McWilliams, both of Germany; his parents, Fannie L. McWilliams of Fayetteville, N.C., and Clarence McWilliams of Fayetteville, Tenn.; one stepsister, Bettina Burtleson of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one half-sister, Mary Ann Steele of Fayetteville, Tenn.; one stepbrother, Marquis Askins; and one half-brother, Lorenzo Bone of Huntsville.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
J.C. Mitchell
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - J.C. "Mitch" Mitchell, 87, died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home chapel in Ardmore, Ala., with Bro. Charles Richards officiating.
Burial will be in Blanche Cemetery in Blanche, Tenn.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lorene Mitchell of Louisville; one son, Roger Mitchell of Louisville; two daughters, Janice Holliday of La Grange, Ky., and Peggy Baily of Louisville; one sister, Virginia Thompson of Fayetteville, Tenn.; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic funeral service at 7 p.m. during visitation.
Robert C. Morton
CROSSVILLE - Robert Coy Morton, 66, died Wednesday at a Birmingham veterans hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Hopewell Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Bishop officiating.
W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel in Rainsville is in charge of burial.
Mr. Morton was a Korean War veteran.
Survivors include his mother, Otha Morton of Crossville; one sister, Margie Geneal Richards of Crossville; one brother, William Earl Morton of Rossville, Ga.; and one niece and two nephews.
Thomas A. Smith
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Thomas Alexander Smith, 89, of Hedgemont Avenue died Tuesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Waggoner officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Smith was a native of Lincoln County, Tenn., and a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Katherine Markham Smith of Fayetteville; one daughter, Shirley Jeans of Fayetteville; and three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one great-step-grandchild.
Itaska M. Stone
ARAB - Itaska Maze Stone, 98, of 235 3rd St. S.E. died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial was to be in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Nadine Stewart of Arab and Dolly Thomas of Georgia; four sons, J.C. Stone and Coise Stone, both of Birmingham, Eulis Stone of Arab and Billy Stone of Georgia; and 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 35 great-great-grandchildren.
