Tony Bullard
ARAB - Tony Bullard, 45, of 134 Lexington Road S.E. died Friday at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Gober Funeral Home in Arab.
Burial will be in the Arab Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Dottie S. Bullard; one daughter, Lana Bullard of Arab; one brother, Keith Bullard; and his mother, Janet H. Bullard of Arab.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Thelma G. Clark
GRANT - Thelma Gladys Clark, 82, died Friday in Guntersville. The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at New Hope Funeral Home chapel with Bro. John D. Stapler officiating.
Burial will be in Walker Cemetery.
Survivors include two grandsons, Bob By Choat and Gary McKee, both of Grant; and six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Paul R. Davis
Paul R. Davis, 84, of Huntsville died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Ralph Langley officiating. The graveside service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery in Collierville, Tenn.
Mr. Davis was a native of Manhatten, Kan., and graduated from high school in Parsons, Miss. He earned a private pilot's license and attended Tennessee State Teachers College in Memphis on a football scholarship, where he played center and was active in the "M" Club. He earned a degree in chemistry and worked in Chicago until joining the Army Air Corps in 1944, serving in England until the end of the war.
After the war, he earned a master's degree in chemistry at the University of Mississippi and worked at Marshall Space Flight Center as a quality control engineer for NASA until 1980. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine Burched.
Survivors include his wife, Saranel Davis of Huntsville; two daughters, Betty Katherine Davis Prickett of Germantown, Tenn., and Donna Detamore Crawford of Tuscaloosa; two sons, John H. Davis of Huntsville and Lowell C. Detamore of Peachtree City, Ga.; one brother, Verne I. Davis of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and eight grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.
Memorial donations may be made to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation or the Golden K Kiwanis Club.
Mary Denk
SAN ANGELO, Texas - Mary Denk, 88, died Thursday at her home. The funeral will be today at 3:30 p.m. at Valhalla Memory Gardens with Dr. Mel A. Strain officiating.
Valhalla Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
She was a longtime Huntsville resident.
Survivors include one nephew, Jerome Worth Snyder of Texas.
Visitation will be today from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Marian M. Hale
BIRMINGHAM - A memorial service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Unity Church of Birmingham, 2803 Highland Ave., for Marian Meeter Hale, 87, of Birmingham, who died Dec. 7.
She was the mother of Douglas V. Hale of Huntsville.
Mrs. Hale, a nursing graduate of Johns Hopkins University, was a member of the first integrated prayer group in Birmingham during the civil rights movement.
In addition to her son, survivors include her husband, Willard Douglas ''Chuck'' Hale of Birmingham; three daughters, Terry Standridge, Priscilla Beth and Susan Hale, all of Birmingham; three grandchildren, Dr. James Allen Coman of Tulsa, Okla., Melissa Beth ''Missy'' Coman of Madison and Holly Anne Hale of Huntsville; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to WBHM Public Radio in Birmingham.
J.C. Hawes
FLAT ROCK - J.C. Hawes, 66, died Thursday at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson with the Rev. A.L. Kite officiating.
Burial will be in Sterne Cemetery in Stevenson.
Mr. Hawes was a logger and saw miller.
Survivors include four daughters, Mitzi Stanford of Pisgah, Deborah Jackson of Stevenson and Karen Barnett and Mollie Davis, both of Flat Rock; one son, Charles Hawes of Ider; four brothers, Darvin Hawes of Stevenson, James Wade Hawes of Ider and Larry Hawes and Gary Hawes, both of Flat Rock; and 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Allie F. Hodges
ATHENS - Allie Forrest Hodges, 77, of Athens died Friday at a Decatur hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel in Athens with the Rev. Dwight Ridinger officiating.
Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.
Mr. Hodges was a native of Limestone County. He retired from Monsanto and attended O'Neal Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Hodges.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Wales Hodges of Athens; one daughter, Janet King of Athens; three sons, Terry Hodges, Marlin Hodges and Donnie Hodges, all of Athens; two sisters, Elizabeth Street of Decatur and Annell Black of Athens; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Bessie W. Holland
ATHENS - Bessie White Holland, 75, of 208 Ridgelawn Drive died Friday at her home. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Central Church of Christ in Athens with the Rev. Bryon David, the Rev. Tom Holland and the Rev.Mike Davis officiating.
Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery with McConnell Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Holland was a native of Hartselle and was a resident of Limestone County most of her life. She was retired from the Limestone County Health Department and the Limestone Probate Office. She was a member of Central Church of Christ and Beta Sigma Phi Faternity. Mrs. Holland was preceded in death by her husband, Hillman Hoyt "Scoot" Holland.
Survivors include one daughter, Beth Holland Elliott of Birmingham; two sons, Charles Neil Holland of Athens and Hillman Randall Holland of Sea Island, Ga.; four sisters, Ramona Moorer and Margaret Boudreau, both of Huntsville, Joy Trousdale of Florence and Joyce Rheney of Orangeburg, S.C.; one brother, Mike White of Ringgold, Ga.; and four grandchildren.
Sylvia W. Jupiter
Sylvia Wagner Jupiter, 77, of Huntsville died Thursday in Puerto Limon, Costa Rica. The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with Rabbi Bernard Honan officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Jupiter was a veteran of the Women's Army Corps before retiring with the rank of captain and was a life member of the Retired Officers Association. She was a member of Temple B'nai Sholom where she taught Hebrew school and was active in the sisterhood. She was a life member of Hadassah and served as treasurer of the local chapter for 20 years. She worked as a volunteer in the Meals on Wheels program and the Interfaith Volunteers Transportation Service.
Survivors include her husband, Alvin M. Jupiter; two daughters, Karen Pline of Marietta, Ga., and Ellen Hernandez of Lafayette, La.; two brothers, Joseph Wagner and Phillip Wagner, both of Jackson Heights, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 2:30 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jerry L. Livingston
EVA - Jerry Lee Livingston, 52, of 6840 Eva Road died Thursday at his mother's home. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Eva United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Kinney and the Rev. Brady McCullough officiating.
Burial will be in Eva Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home of Hartselle in charge.
Mr. Livingston was a member of the church and had served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his mother, Ruth Livingston of Eva; one brother, Gary Lewis Livingston of Eva; and one sister, Rose Mary Harvey of Tupelo, Miss.
Memorial donations may be made to the church youth fund or Hospice of Cullman County.
James L. Nash
James Larry Nash, 47, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Larry Johnson and the Rev. Roland Lee officiating.
Burial will be in Cameron Cemetery.
Mr. Nash was a native of Madison County and worked for the Madison County Commission for 18 years.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Ann Nash; two daughters, Amy Foster of Huntsville and Kim Hartley of Lacey's Spring; his mother, Louise Miller Lee of Gurley; one sister, Tana Lee of Gurley; and one grandson.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jerry O. Oden
EVA - The Rev. Jerry Ottis Oden, 53, died Friday at a Nashville hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home chapel in Hartselle with the Rev. Harlon Hood and the Rev. Tim Kinney officiating.
Burial will be in Oden Ridge Cemetery.
The Rev. Mr. Oden was a native of Cullman, a pastor at West Point Baptist Church in Somerville and an a Vietnam War Army veteran. He was preceded in death by one son, Mark Oden.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Patton Oden of Eva; one son, Michael Oden of Madison; one daughter, Michelle Oden Taylor of Madison; his parents, Ottis and Flora Oden of Robertsdale; and one brother, Allen Oden of Foley.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Evelyn P. Martin
Evelyn P. Martin, 83, of Huntsville died Wednesday at her home. The graveside service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Beaul Hunkapillar officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mrs. Martin was a dietitian for Huntsville City Schools for 28 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt D. Martin Sr.; and one son, Hoyt D. "Butch" Martin Jr.
Survivors include one sister, Laura Lee Brantley of Huntsville; one grandson, John D. "Ashley" Martin of Greenville; one granddaughter, Michelle "Toby" Wilkinson of Marietta, Ga.; and two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Durard H. McAbee
RAINSVILLE - Durard Horton McAbee, 83, died Thursday at a Collinsville nursing home. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jim Griffin and the Rev. Ralph Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Mount View Memory Gardens.
Mr. McAbee retired from the Marines as a master sergeant and was a veteran of the Korean War and World War II. He was a former member of the Rainsville City Council and the DeKalb County Board of Education.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Welborn McAbee of Rainsville; three sons, Jimmy McAbee of Jamestown, N.C., Brig. Gen. Jerry McAbee of Miami and Ronald McAbee of Rainsville; one sister, Jessie Chamblee of Rainsville; one brother, Ray McAbee of Fort Payne; and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Sandra F. McCandlish
Sandra F. McCandlish, 70, of Huntsville died Thursday at her home. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce arrangements.
Mrs. McCandlish was raised in Scottsbluff, Neb., and had lived in Huntsville since 1956. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Carl A. McCandlish.
Survivors include one daughter, Janet McCandlish Indihar of Huntsville; two sons, Carl Austin McCandlish Jr. of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Stephen Scott McCandlish of Boise, Idaho; one brother, Walter R. Matheny of Huntsville; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from 10 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.

Birdie Parcus
Birdie Parcus, 71, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 10 a.m. at Valhalla Memory Gardens with Bro. Simon Mayo officiating.

She was a member of Holmes Avenue Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Earvin Parcus of Huntsville.
John W. Reece
FORT PAYNE - Dr. John Wesley Reece, 78, died Friday in Hazel Green . The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at New Oregon Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Heathcock officiating.
Burial will be Fischer Cemetery with Burt Funeral Home of Fort Payne in charge.
Survivors include four sons, John Wesley Reece Jr. of Jacksonville, Ala., Michael Tucker Reece of Huntsville, Henry Albert Yerby Reece of Reform and Joseph Reece of Houston; two daughters, Deborah R. Blesser of Columbia, S.C., and Rachel Reece of Houston; three sisters, Janice Jones of Northport, Dorcus Robinson of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Ruth Miner of Arlington, Va.; and five grandchildren.
Marvin Reed
SYLACAUGA - Marvin Reed, 54, of 2320 Lucyle Lane died Friday. The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Thornton and the Rev. Tommy Reaves officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Reed was formerly of Huntsville and had moved to Sylacauga in 1970.
Survivors include his wife, Liz Reed of Sylacauga; two daughters, Kim Reed Edmunds of Huntsville and Nicki Reed Bryant of Sylacauga; and three grandchildren.

DANVILLE - T.G. Segars, 74, died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home chapel in Hartselle.

Mr. Segars was a retired crane operator for Wolverine Tube Co. in Decatur and a member of Danville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn Segars of Danville; four sons, James Segars, Jerry Segars and Larry Segars, all of Danville, and Charles Segars of Decatur; one sister, Essie Garnett of Decatur; and 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

HIGH POINT - Robert D. Stewart, 64, died Friday at a DeKalb County hospital. The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel in Rainsville with the Rev. Mirlin Owens officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Frances Stewart of High Point; one son, Robert Stewart of Henagar; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stewart of Sylvania; one sister Tina Mae Smith of Sylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
William B. Vickers
VALHERMOSA SPRINGS - William B. "Bill" Vickers, 70, died Friday in Huntsville. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Fowlkes Cemetery.
Mr. Vickers was a native of Madison County, a member of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church and worked at Sertoma Playground at Brahan Spring Park.
Survivors include his wife, Iretta Vickers of Huntsville; three sons, William B. Vickers Jr. of Hazel Green, David East of Lacey's Spring and Jack Branuum of New Market; four daughters, Janice Hayes of Fayetteville, Tenn., Billie Jean McCool of Valhermosa Springs, Bessie Campbell of Huntsville and Susie Vickers Musgrove of Hazel Green ; three sisters, Jean Hudson of Huntsville, Ann Bailey of Hazel Green and Tiny Kent of Lacey's Spring; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

SCOTTSBORO - George W. Ward, 59, died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with the Rev. Ottis Manning and the Rev. Aubrey Hastings officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro.
Mr. Ward was an employee of the Scottsboro Water Board for 27 years.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Ward; two sons, Quineth Ward and Rodney Ward, both of Scottsboro; two sisters, Eileen Brown of Mobile and Shirley Knight of Hytop; two brothers, Donald Ward of Woodville and Danny Ward of Scottsboro; and two grandchildren.
