SANDY HOOK, Miss. - Retired Maj. Gen. James W. Ball, 60, died Saturday. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sandy Hook Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Sandy Hook Methodist Cemetery with Colonial Funeral Home of Columbia, Miss., in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Ball of Sandy Hook, formerly of Huntsville; one son, Scott Ball of Sandy Hook; two daughters, Susan Ball of Herndon, Va., and Sandra Ball of Fairfax, Va.; and two brothers, Doyle Ball and Wayne Ball, both of Sandy Hook.

Richard Bezotte
Richard "Ricky" Bezotte, 43, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The memorial service will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. at East Huntsville Church of Christ with Tommy Nunley officiating.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bezotte was a native of France.
Survivors include one daughter, Katy Bezotte of Huntsville; his mother, Jettie S. Koster of Huntsville; his stepfather, Jim Koster of Huntsville; four brothers, Bobby Bezotte and Pat Bezotte, both of New Market, and Randall Bezotte and Daniel Bezotte, both of Huntsville; and his special friend, Becky Bezotte of Huntsville.

Flotilla Clark
FORT PAYNE - Flotilla Clark, 83, died Monday. The funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with the Rev. Steve Lea and the Rev. Larry Haynes officiating.
Burial will be in New Home Cemetery in Henagar.
Mrs. Clark was a member of the New Home Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Alva Clark; one daughter, Brenda Clark Gilbreath of Fort Payne; one son, Randall Dwight Bland of Missouri; and five step-grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today from 1 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Tressie C. Collins
NEW MARKET - Tressie Craft Collins, 78, died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. James Harrell, the Rev. Shelby Gurley and the Rev. Richard Anderson officiating.
Burial will be in Moon Cemetery.
Mrs. Collins was a native of Madison County, a retired nurse and a member of Brownsboro Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Preston Collins.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Ray Collins of New Market and Terry Lynn Collins of Owens Cross Roads; one grandson, Chris Collins of Atlanta; and two great-granddaughters.
Visitation will be today from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m at the funeral home.

Eric L. Cooper
STEVENSON - Eric Lee Cooper, 23, died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson with the Rev. John Gamble and Ronnie Day officiating.
Burial will be in Stevenson City Cemetery.
Survivors include his mother, Martha Cook of Stevenson; his stepfather, David H. Cook of Stevenson; one brother, Joseph Ryan Cooper of Fort Benning, Ga.; his grandmother, Bonnie Ruth Coffman of Stevenson; and a special friend, Jody Underwood of Stevenson.

Minnie Davis
VALLEY HEAD - Minnie Davis, 79, died Saturday at a Fort Payne hospital. The funeral was Monday at the New Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Owens officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, John Davis; two daughters, Dian King and Carolyn Sue Davis; and one son, Rickey Davis.
Survivors include three daughters, Ruby Jones of Sylvania, Rachel Barkley of Hammondville and Sue Fowler of Fort Payne; one son, Truman Davis of Hammondville; three sisters, Lucy Johnson of Hopewell, Dessie Cobb of Fyffe and Mary Clark of New Hope; two brothers, Ed Duncan of Ruhama, Ala., and Erby Duncan of Henagar; and nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Sally N. Hinkle
ATHENS - Sally Neva Hinkle, 86, of 17948 Wells Road died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Steve Moseley and Tim Murray officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
She was a member of Corinth Church of Christ.
Survivors include six sons, Hollis Hinkle of Huntsville, Stanley Hinkle of Toney, James Hinkle of Dickson, Tenn., Ben Hinkle and Kenneth Hinkle, both of Athens, and Dwight Hinkle of Decatur; one daughter, Ruby Hall of Toney; one brother, Hoyt Moody of Cullman; one sister, Mary Ella Cook of Hanceville; and 26 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

James A. Horton Sr.
DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. - James Adrian Horton Sr., 58, died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Ricketson Funeral Home chapel in Douglas, Ga., with the Rev. Donnie Kirkland and the Rev. Melvin Holt officiating.
Burial will be in Chatterton Cemetery.
Mr. Horton was formerly of Scottsboro. He was a native of Coffee County, Ga.
Survivors include his wife, Lois White Horton of Douglasville; one son, James A. Horton Jr. of Scottsboro; one daughter, Kathryn Horton of Huntsville; his father, Arther Horton of Nicholls, Ga.; his mother and stepfather, Sara Lila and George Johnson of Tifton, Ga.; two brothers, Donald Lee Horton of Newnan, Ga., and David Wayne Horton of Douglas, Ga.; one sister, Sherrill H. Holt of Hixson, Tenn.; one half-sister, Terry Dickey of Broxton, Ga.; and two grandsons.

Earline W. Johnson
Earline W. Johnson, 79, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at noon at Mount New Home Missionary Baptist Church in Leighton with the Rev. A.J. Mays officiating.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Tuscumbia with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Johnson of Huntsville; two stepsons, Walter Johnson Jr. and Fredie Carter, both of Detroit; two stepdaughters, Julia Thomas and Anita Barrymore, both of Detroit; and one sister, Mamie Humphrey of Nashville.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Alfonso Jolliff
Alfonso Jolliff, 85, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jay Robinson officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Jolliff; two daughters, Barbara J. Brown of Raleigh, N.C., and Elizabeth DeLong of Huntsville; two sons, James B. Jolliff and Thomas C. Jolliff, both of Huntsville; one sister, Ima Hassell of Houston; one brother, Richard P. Jolliff of Wilmington, Del.; and seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Jesse P. King, 64, died Monday. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Gilliam Springs Cemetery in Arab.
Survivors include four sons, Gary J. King, Terry L. King and Larry M. King, all of Columbia, and Carey M. King of Nashville; one brother, Tommy R. King of Huntsville; three sisters, Judy Hullett and Stella Musick, both of Huntsville, and Laura Lockard of Meridianville; and three grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
Visitation will today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Alma Lewis
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Alma Jean Porter Lewis, 70, died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at noon at Taylor Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Boykins officiating.
Burial will be in National Cemetery in Chattanooga.
Survivors include her husband, James Edward Lewis of Chattanooga; two sons, Roland H. Haygood and James W. Lewis, both of Huntsville; one daughter, Juanita L. Evans of Chattanooga; one brother, Max Porter of Washington D.C.; and 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.
Her body will be at the funeral home 30 minutes before the funeral.

Sarah A. Long
FALKVILLE - Sarah Augusta Long, 90, died Monday at her home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. David Zimmerman officiating.
Burial will be in Falkville City Cemetery.
She was a member of Falkville First Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Long of Birmingham; two daughters, June Long Stephenson of Birmingham and Jane Long Crofford of Melbourne, Ark.; one sister, Merle Summerford Drinkard of Cullman; and eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Shirley F. McPherson
DECATUR - Shirley Fay McPherson, 62, died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home in Athens with Chris Godbee officiating. A graveside service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Shotsville Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. McPherson was a housewife and member of Shotsville Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Foy Lee McPherson; three daughters, Rita Ann Corum of Danville, Patricia Fay Howard and Shirley Juanitta Massey, both of Decatur; two sons, Charles ''Chuck'' McPherson and Timothy Lee McPherson, both of Decatur; one brother, Hugh Kennedy Chandler Sr. of Decatur; and 12 grandchildren.

Richard K. Nichols
Richard K. Nichols, 70, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Joe Estes officiating.
Mr. Nichols was owner of Insty-Prints in Huntsville and Madison. He was former vice president of Barber-Colman and a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Nichols; four daughters, Kathleen Nichols of Madison, Wis., Megan Nichols and Bridget Beaulieu, both of Kenosha, Wis., and Erin Gaston of Huntsville; one son, Kerry Scot Nichols of Huntsville; two sisters, Nicki Davis and Lucy Hallager, both of Manitowoc, Wis., and Susan Nichols of Arlington, Va.; two brothers, Kenneth Favrow of Mountain Lake Terrace, Wash., and Timothy Nichols of Lee's Summit, Kan.; and 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Albert H. Patterson
GUNTERSVILLE - Albert Henry Patterson, 78, of 1870 Bethel Church Road died Sunday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 11 a.m. at Guntersville Memorial Chapel with Bro. Glenn Parkey officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Edith Polly Sparks of Guntersville, Bonnie Harris of Hyatt and Nancy Brown of Opelika; and four sons, Albert Patterson Jr., Bill Patterson and Bobby Joe Patterson, all of Guntersville, and Jack Patterson of Albertville.

Frank E. Pierce
HAZEL GREEN - Frank Edward Pierce, 78, of Scott Road died Sunday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Hazel Green United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Havens and the Rev. Jim Stringfellow officiating.
Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery in New Market with Gallant Funeral Home of Hazel Green in charge.
Mr. Pierce was a native of Madison County, retired from Marshall Space Flight Center, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the church.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Elliott Pierce of Hazel Green ; one son, Frank Edward Pierce Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn.; two brothers, John Pierce of Harvest and Howard Pierce of Gurley; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Mary F. Prince
ALBERTVILLE - Mary Frances Prince, 58, of 2330 Section Line Road died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Guntersville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Brookwood Cemetery in Arab.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris E. Edwards of Albertville and Karen L. Edwards of Gurley; one son, Mark A. Prince of Albertville; three sisters, Dorothy J. Davis of Baileyton, Robertal B. Bodine of Arab and Carol A. Scherr of Harvest; one brother, James W. Bagley; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lucille Ragland
Lucille Ragland, 105, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at Beaver Dam Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Theodore Bone officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include one granddaughter, Betty Jean Black of Talucah; and two grandsons, Kenneth L. Smithers of Huntsville and Michael V. Smithers of Fort Washington, Md.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Evelyn W. Richards
Evelyn Watkins Richards, 87, of Huntsville died Sunday at her home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Chandler Funeral Home in Vernon, Ala., with Sonny MacLellen officiating.
Burial will be in Millport City Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Richards of Huntsville; one daughter, Betty Mordecai of Huntsville; two sons, Billy Richards of Millport and Larry Richards of Meridian, Miss.; two sisters, Elizabeth Fontecchio of Denver, Colo., and Lynette Odom of Jackson, Miss.; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

William Sanderson Jr.
MADISON - William L. Sanderson Jr., 65, died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Sammy Brister officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mr. Sanderson was a native of Madison County, a retired farmer and a member of Harvest Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Nanette Graviett of Huntsville; one son, Steve Sanderson of Harvest; two sisters, Elise Taylor and Imogene Renegar, both of Huntsville; one brother, Calvin Sanderson of Huntsville; and three grandchildren.

Kent L. Satterly
Kent Lee Satterly, 46, of 701 Oak Park Drive in Huntsville died Thursday. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home in Harrodsburg, Ky., with Bro. Donnie Irvin officiating.
Burial will be in Grapevine Christian Church Cemetery.
Mr. Satterly retired from the Army.

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. - Roy Eldon Shields, 89, of Blue Stockton Road died Monday. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Tenn., with Mark Pierce officiating.
Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery.
Mr. Shields was a native of Lincoln County, Tenn., a retired farmer and a member of Chestnut Ridge Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucy Shields.
Survivors include one daughter, Willodean Beard of Shelbyville; two sons, Leon Shields of Shelbyville and Ferrell Shields of Lewisburg, Tenn.; and two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

SCOTTSBORO - Jewell Spence, 81, died Monday at her home. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard McCallie officiating.
Burial was in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandy Spence Staton of Scottsboro; two granddaughters, Christy Looney and Candi Brooks, both of Scottsboro; and two great-granddaughters.

Alma Stewart
SYLVANIA - Alma Stewart, 91, died Sunday at a Fort Payne hospital. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Bryant and the Rev. Orien Leford officiating.
Burial was to be in Trinity Cemetery.
Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her husband, John Oliver Stewart; and one daughter, Avice Lackey.
Survivors include two daughters, Rose Mary Owens of Sylvania and Leila Finch of Henagar; one son, Wendell Stewart of Chattanooga; one sister, Thelma Kidd of Rainbow City; and 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

William G. Traylor
RAINSVILLE - William Grady Traylor, 74, died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Briggs King officiating.
Burial will be in Kirk Memorial Gardens in Rainsville.
Mr. Traylor was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Emery.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Traylor; two daughters, Patricia Leming of Chattanooga and Barbara Pickell of Hixson, Tenn.; one stepdaughter, Renee Hardie of Scottsboro, Ala.; one stepson, Robert Totherow Jr. of Macedonia; one sister, Janet Ledford of Rainsville; one brother, Woody Traylor of Powell; and nine grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Margaret D. Usher
WADLEY - Margaret Daly Usher, 76, died Monday. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel in Roanoke, Ala., with the Rev. Jim Dykes officiating. There will be a graveside service Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham.
She was formerly of Huntsville and a native of Little Rock, Ark. She worked as a licensed practical nurse at Huntsville Hospital and was a member of Siluria Baptist Church in Alabaster.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Huckabee of Roanoke and Phyllis Alden of Hendersonville, Tenn.; and eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Belle Warren
Belle Warren, 69, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Twickenham Funeral Home South with Bro. Rudy Sutherland officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Warren was a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church and a high priestess in the Ladies Oriental Shrine. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin R. Warren III.
Survivors include one son, Douglas Warren of Huntsville; three daughters, Lori Warren Wilson of Fairhope, Karin Warren Berrick of Islip Terrace, N.Y., and Lisa Warren Towne of Huntsville; one brother, Leon Lemley of Texas; and five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several great-nieces and nephews.

Bonnie Watkins
ARDMORE, Tenn. - Bonnie Watkins, 95, died Monday at an Athens hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Douglas Eubanks officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Ardmore, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oakley Watkins.
Survivors include one son, Ronald Watkins of Louisville, Ky.; one sister, Doris Clark of Anderson, Ind.; and four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruth Whitt
ARDMORE, Tenn. - Ruth Whitt, 92, died Monday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Ardmore United Methodist Church with Bro. Bruce Walters officiating.
Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery with Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home in charge.
She was a member of the church and was preceded in death by her husband, Austin L. Whitt.
Survivors include two daughters, Bette Ellett of San Rafael, Calif., and Angela Stuart of Ardmore, Tenn.; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lorraine Q. Wicks
Lorraine Quick Wicks, 88, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Wicks was a member of Mayfair Church of Christ and a longtime Madison County resident.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald C. Wicks and Thomas Gary Wicks, both of Huntsville; one daughter, Kathy Jean Sparks of Florence; two sisters, Valera McGuire of Huntsville and Evelyn Clark of Hazel Green ; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
