A.B. Atnip
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A.B. Atnip, 79, died Sunday. There was a private memorial service.
Hatcher Cremations of Jacksonville was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Atnip lived in Guntersville 23 years before moving to Florida this year. He and his wife owned and operated Waterfront Grocery on Scottsboro Highway from 1976 to 1982.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa Lee Holshouser Atnip of Jacksonville; two sisters, Emma Sisk of Scottsboro and Susie Hambrich of Harvest; and three granddaughters, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Ned Bellerue
Ned Bellerue, 68, of Huntsville died Dec. 2 at his home. There will be no funeral.
Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in LaCross, Wisc., with Twickenham Funeral Home South in charge of local arrangements.
Survivors include one first cousin, Virginia Doolittle of Naples, Fla.; and one second cousin, Mary Claire Bond of Bethesda, Md.
Cecil B. Berry
SCOTTSBORO - Cecil B. Berry, 75, died Tuesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with the Rev. R.L. Tyler officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro.
Survivors include his wife, Flora Lee Berry; one daughter, Jo Ann Precise of Scottsboro; one son, Jerry L. Berry of Scottsboro; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dr. Fred G. Blevins
LUCEDALE, Miss. - Dr. Fred G. Blevins, 82, died Tuesday at his home. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Sigler Funeral Home in Lucedale.
Burial will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro with Scottsboro Funeral Home in charge.
Dr. Blevins, a native of Section, was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in World War II and the Korean War. He retired from the Navy as a lieutenant commander. He practiced optometry in Lucedale from 1962 until his retirement in 1984.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie Morgan Blevins; two sisters, Viola Hamlet of Scottsboro and Dorothy Jones of Gadsden; and several nieces and nephews.
Walter D. Bolding
ALBERTVILLE - Walter Donald Bolding, 56, died Monday in Wisconsin. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Albertville Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Harold Brown and the Rev. Bobby Madden officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Bolding of Albertville; one son, James Donald Bolding of Albertville; two stepsons, Brian Snow of Boaz and Stanley Snow of Albertville; two stepdaughters, Shannon Snow and Julie Snow, both of Albertville; four brothers, Wade Bolding, Floyd Bolding and James Bolding, all of Albertville, and John Bolding of Hyatt; one sister, Shirley Renfroe of Albertville; and six grandchildren.
Ruth S. Buford
HARTSELLE - Ruth Sivley Buford, 91, died Tuesday in Falkville. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel in Hartselle with the Rev. Gary Cardwell and the Rev. Jack Redfearn officiating.
Burial will be in Center Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Buford was preceded in death by one son, Walter Sivley.
Survivors include four sons, William Sivley of Mount Clement, Mich., Billy Sivley of Decatur, Edward Sivley of Brooksville and Johnny Sivley of Hartselle; five daughters, Doris Abernathy of Morris, Jean Finley of Flint, Bobbie Anderson of Tanner, Mary Sanders of Fort Worth, Texas, and Linda Ricks of Hartselle; two stepdaughters, Jenny Townsend of Decatur and Nancy Buford of Atlanta; and 39 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Melvina Foster
Melvina Alice Nellie Smith Foster, 94, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The memorial service will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel. There will be a graveside service Friday at 2 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Foster was a native of Cherokee and a graduate of Joe Bradley High School. She was a homemaker, a seamstress and a textile worker at Huntsville Manufacturing Co. During World War II she was a munitions inspector at Redstone Arsenal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Foster .
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Foster of Huntsville; three sisters, Lois Smith and Gertrude Reavis, both of Huntsville, and Mary Byars of Fayetteville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6:30 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Terry G. Green
KILLEN - Terry Glenn Green, 45, died Thursday. The funeral was Sunday at Elkins Funeral Home East chapel in Center Star.
Burial was in Richardson Cemetery.
Survivors include his parents, Wallace G. Green Sr. of Lexington, and Bobbie R. Green of Killen; one sister, Regina C. Green of Madison; and three brothers, Wallace G. Green Jr. and Lynn B. Green, both of Florence, and Kelly R. Green of Killen.
James W. Guffey
EAST RIDGE, Tenn. - James Wiley Guffey, 67, died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with the Rev. Jerry Walden officiating.
Burial will be in Maxwell Gap Cemetery in Flat Rock.
Mr. Guffey was a member of the Church of God and retired from Combustion Engineering in Chattanooga.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Olivia Guffey; five daughters, Brenda Dunn of Stevenson, Christine Hullender of Chattanooga, Ruby Hawkins of Flat Rock, Wilma Smith of Pisgah and Kim Morris of Dutton; one stepson, Donald Lee Shirley of East Ridge; one sister, Ruby Barbee of Trenton, Ga.; two half-sisters; three half-brothers; and 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Eva Gunn
GUNTERSVILLE - Eva Gunn, 86, of Guntersville died Monday at an Albertville nursing home. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville.
Burial was in Woosley Cemetery.
Survivors include four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Roy P. Hagood
HARVEST - Roy P. Hagood, 80, died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at noon at Harvest Baptist Church with the Rev. Sammy Bristol officiating.
Burial was to be in Huntsville Memory Gardens with Madison Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Hagood of Harvest; two sons, Max Hagood of Cullman and David Hagood of Hazel Green ; one daughter, Lous Swearingen of Huntsville; one sister, Jewel Owens of Danville; and 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Lillian E. Jones
NEW MARKET - Lillian Erwin Jones, 89, died Tuesday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at New Market Baptist Church with Bro. Don Schultz officiating.
Burial will be in Rice Cemetery in New Market with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Jones was a lifelong Madison County resident and a longtime member of the church.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Dale Peters of Huntsville and Nancy J. Kearns of New Market; one son, Thomas E. Jones of Tampa, Fla.; one brother, Forrest C. Erwin of Winchester, Tenn.; and three grandsons.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Robert L. Jones
Robert L. Jones, 47, of Huntsville died Monday at his home. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Survivors include two nieces, Chris Heckler and Lynn Colburn, both of Huntsville.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:30 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Nolen L. McDaniel
ARAB - Nolen Leon McDaniel, 73, died Sunday at a Huntsville hospital. The graveside service was to be today at 3 p.m. at New Friendship Cemetery.
Gober Funeral Home of Arab is in charge of burial.
Survivors include one daughter, Katherine McDaniel of Gadsden; two sons, John N. McDaniel of Union Grove and Thomas G. McDaniel of Horton; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mary I. Mosley
GUNTERSVILLE - Mary Ila Mosley, 88, died Saturday at a local nursing home. The funeral was today at 10 a.m. at Warrenton Methodist Church.
Burial was in Mount Olive Cemetery in Albertville with Gober Funeral Home of Arab in charge.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn J. Headrick of Arab and Brenda J. Hicks of Hawaii; one son, Charles J. Mosley of Guntersville; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Victoria F. Norwood
FYFFE - Victoria Faith Norwood, infant daughter of Anthony and Michelle Norwood, died Monday at a Birmingham hospital. The funeral was Tuesday at Macedonia No. 2 Baptist Church with the Rev. LaWayne Levans and the Rev. Bobby Pendergrass officiating.
Burial was in Mount Tabor Cemetery with W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel in charge.
Other survivors include one sister, Hope Elizabeth Norwood of Fyffe; grandparents, Larry and Lina Norwood and Dwight and Jeanine Gary, all of Dawson; and great-grandparents, Ruth Norwood of Collinsville, Bernice Harris of Dawson, L.W. and Imogene Wilkes of Crossville and Sibyl Gary of Albertville.
Vernie R. Pendleton
ALBERTVILLE - Vernie Ruth Pendleton, 69, died Monday at her home. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Albertville Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Mike Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in New Canaan Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, John C. Pendleton of Albertville; three sons, James K. Adams of Montgomery, David Lee Adams of Centre and Johnnie Brian Adams of Talladega; one sister, Estelle Holy of Decatur, Ga.; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
John R. Riley
TONEY - John Randolph "Randy" Riley, 45, died Tuesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel.
Mr. Riley was a native of Humbolt, Tenn., but spent most his life in Madison County.
Survivors include his wife, Donna K. Riley of Toney; two sons, John Randolph Riley III and Jamie Lee Riley, both of Toney; one daughter, Jessica Nichole Riley of Toney; one brother, Rob Roy Riley Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.; three sisters, Donna Carol Lamb of New Market and Deb K. Moore and Danae Shell Riley, both of Huntsville; his mother, Regina Riley of Huntsville; his grandmother, Annie Ball of Huntsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Adron D. Roberts
GURLEY - Adron D. Roberts, 69, died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel in Huntsville with the Rev. Andy Wisner and Jack Meeks officiating.
Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens in Athens.
Mr. Roberts was a native of Limestone County and had lived in Madison County since 1969. He retired from Genesco.
Survivors include his wife, Florene Roberts of Gurley; three sons, Wayne Roberts of Huntsville, Phillip Roberts of Gurley and Tim Roberts of Hazel Green ; four brothers, J.C. Roberts of Gardendale and William Clayton Roberts, Gilbert Roberts and Joel Aster Roberts, all of Athens; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Kamp C. Ross Sr.
DUTTON - Kamp C. Ross Sr., 84, died Tuesday at a DeKalb County hospital. W.T. Wilson Funeral chapel in Rainsville will announce funeral arrangements.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Aileen Ross; and one daughter, June Carolyn Ross.
Survivors include one daughter, Kay Ross Carter of Dutton; one son, Kamp A. Ross Jr. of Little Rock, Ark.; four sisters, Lucille Stovall, Emma Grant, Marticha Ross and Bonnie Powell, all of Fort Worth, Texas; one brother, Perry Ross of Fort Worth; and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Green berry Staten IV
GUNTERSVILLE - Green berry Harrison Staten IV, 58, died Friday at his home. The funeral will be Thursday at noon at St. Minor Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Benjamin Burt officiating.
Burial will be in Warrenton Cemetery in Guntersville with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his mother, Viola Staten of Guntersville; six sisters, Julia Simpson of Huntsville, Lilly Staten, Martha Cox, Brenda May and Jeannene Vines, all of Guntersville, and Deborah Elston of Anniston; and seven brothers, James Staten, Fred Staten and Darryl Staten, all of Guntersville, Bobby Staten of Albertville, David Staten of Louisville, Ky., Kenneth Staten of Richland, N.C., and John Staten of Columbus, Ga.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Vera S. Steelman
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Vera Stevenson Steelman, 85, of 301 West Washington St. died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Hughes officiating.
Burial will be in Kelso Cemetery.
Mrs. Steelman was a native of Lincoln County, Tenn. and a member of Fayetteville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She had worked for Serbin Fashions Co.
Survivors include three brothers, Carl Stevenson and Ray Stevenson, both of Fayetteville, and Paul Stevenson of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

BOAZ - Connie Marie Strusz, 34, died Tuesday at a Marshall County hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kirk A. McQuillan officiating.
Albertville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Donald L. Strusz of Boaz; one son, Joshua Strusz of Boaz; one daughter, Bridgett Strusz of Boaz; one stepson, Anthony Strusz of California; her parents, Ken Close and Betty Close, both of California; one brother, John Close of California; and grandparents, Harvey and Wanda Gage of Idaho.

MADISON - Emma Hughes Teague, 79, died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Big Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Woodrow Kirby officiating.
Burial will be in Royal Cemetery with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Barbara A. Veal
IDER - Barbara A. Childers Veal, 56, died Tuesday in Fort Payne. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with the Rev. Terry Dehart officiating.
Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Rosalie.
Survivors include her husband, Junior Clay Veal; three daughters, Linda Gail Simpson of Flat Rock, Brenda Gail Roberts of Ider and Patricia Ann Casey of Trenton, Ga.; four sons, Billy Ray Veal of Rosalie, Michael Wayne Veal of Ider and David Lee Veal and Gary Dewayne Veal, both of Dutton; her parents, D.J. Lorraine Quick Wicks, 88, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mayfair Church of Christ with Bro. Herschel McFarlen officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Wicks was a member of Mayfair Church of Christ and a longtime Madison County resident.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald C. Wicks and Thomas Gary Wicks, both of Huntsville; one daughter, Kathy Jean Sparks of Florence; two sisters, Valera McGuire of Huntsville and Evelyn Clark of Hazel Green ; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

HARTSELLE - Clara Sparkman Wynn, 93, of 5848 Norris Mill Road died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Elder officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home of Hartselle in charge.
She was a member of the church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Lou Wynn Long of Hartselle; one brother, Franklin Sparkman of Gardendale; and one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Visitation was today at 11 a.m. at her home.
Jessie L. Zarger
Jessie L. Zarger, 64, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Survivors include her husband, Courson Zarger of Huntsville; three daughters, Suzanne Zarger of Huntsville, Michelle Marshall of Nicholasville, Ky., and Tina Bagby of Campbellsville, Ky.; one son, Curtis Zarger of Louisville, Ky.; and eight grandchildren.
