Stanley R. Adams
ATHENS - Stanley Ray Adams, 47, died Thursday [12-30-1999] at a Decatur hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Walters officiating.
Burial will be in Fielding Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Miriah Adams; two stepdaughters, Mona Gentry-Chestnut of Montgomery and Dawn Gentry of Athens; one brother, Steve Adams of Ardmore, Ala.; two sisters, Lana Hargrove of Ardmore, Tenn., and Linda Higginbotham of Ardmore, Ala.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mildred W. Beard
SCOTTSBORO - Mildred White Beard, 84, died Friday [12-31-1999] at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Stevens officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Cecilia Beard of Scottsboro; one son, Billy Beard of Pisgah; one sister, Alice White Rudder of Scottsboro; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Scottsboro or the Jackson County Council On Aging.
Roy M. Beavers Sr.
HUEYTOWN - Roy Melvin Beavers Sr., 82, died Monday [12-27-1999]. The funeral was held Wednesday at Brown Service West Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
Mr. Beavers was a member of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by one son, James Beavers.
Local survivors include one son, Roy Melvin Beavers Jr. of Huntsville.
Frances J. Boyd
Frances J. Boyd, 76, of Huntsville died Friday [12-31-1999] at a local hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel with Bro. William Daniel and Bro. Rudy Whittaker officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Boyd was a member of Southern Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn Walker of Florence; two sons, Carl Boyd and John Boyd, both of Huntsville; one sister, Imogene Rhoden of Huntsville; and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

James H. Elder
BOAZ - James Horace Elder, 77, of 730 Alabama 168 died Thursday [12-30-1999] at a local hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Marshall Memorial Garden.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Elder; three daughters, Wanda Wildman of Guntersville, Sheila Browning of Boaz and Pamela Bartlett of Albertville; one son, Ricky Elder of Huntsville; one sister, Nellie Wesley of New Hope; and nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Eliza Hackworth
SCOTTSBORO - Eliza Hackworth, 95, died Thursday [12-30-1999] at the Jackson County Nursing Home in Scottsboro. A graveside service was Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Donna Airheart and Scottsboro Funeral Home in charge.
Miss Hackworth, a lifetime resident of Scottsboro, joined the First Methodist Church on May 28, 1913. She was a charter member of the Fortnightly Book Club, the first librarian for the Scottsboro Public Library and a feature writer for The Daily Sentinel.
Miss Hackworth was survived by one cousin, Nellie Hackworth Spring of Scottsboro.
Lillian A. Hays
Lillian Adair Hays, 87, of Huntsville died Friday [12-31-1999] at a local hospital. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce arrangements.
Mrs. Hays was a member of College Park Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John D. Adair and Clevie William Hays.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty J. Wyatt and Glynna M. Marshall, both of Huntsville, and Ruby Chupp of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; one brother, Warner Davidson of Ohio; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Charles D. Headrick
TONEY - Charles D. ''Dave'' Headrick, 65, died Thursday [12-30-1999] at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with John M. Herndon officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Headrick was a native of Madison County. He was formerly employed with the Huntsville Police Department and was elected and served as sheriff for Madison County. He was a member of Pineview Baptist Church and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include one daughter, Kyra Hammond of Pensacola, Fla.; two sons, David Marlon of Guntersville and Chad Headrick of Harvest; and one sister, Norma Headrick Herndon of Florence.
Visitation will be Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Estelle C. Henley
Estelle C. Henley, 78, of Huntsville died Thursday [12-30-1999] at a local hospital. The graveside service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Dr. Jimmy Jackson officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Henley was a native of Huntsville and a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Escoe B. Henley; one daughter, Sherry H. Tribble of Huntsville; one sister, Geneva C. Vasser of Huntsville; and two grandsons, Bryan Tribble and Greg Tribble.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Robert D. Honey
Robert David Honey, 82, of Huntsville died Thursday [12-30-1999]. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Shelby Gurley officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Honey was a native and lifelong resident of Madison County. He retired as head custodian at Terry Heights School. He was a charter member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, William Frank Harbin of Toney, Clay Harbin of Gurley and Don Harbin of Huntsville; three daughters, Dot Harbin Balch of El Paso, Texas, Jean Owens Jean of Huntsville and Bennie Harbin Atchley of Hazel Green ; three sisters, Mildred Taylor of Huntsville, Edna Mullins and Evelyn Harris, both of Gurley; two brothers, Logan Honey Jr. and Billy Honey, both of Huntsville; a special sister-in-law, Mary Lewis of Huntsville; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

JOELTON, Tenn. - Mary Allean Johnson, 81, died Thursday [12-30-1999] at her home. The funeral will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home in Athens, Ala.
Burial will be in Hester's Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Limestone County, a homemaker and member of Bearwallow Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Heaton of Antioch, Tenn., and Janelle Hastings of Pleasant View, Tenn.; one brother, Alton Bassham of Madison, Tenn.; and two sisters, Althea Scruggs and Amber Simmons, both of Pulaski, Tenn.
Hollis W. O'Mary
Hollis Wayne O'Mary, 64, of Huntsville died Thursday [12-30-1999] at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Coy Hallmark officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mr. O'Mary was a member of First United Methodist Church of Huntsville.
Survivors include his wife, Billie J. O'Mary; one daughter, Lisa O'Mary of Huntsville; one son, Landon O'Mary of Huntsville; two sisters, Opal Hollingsworth of Fayette and Dorothy Hewitt of Moundsville; and two brothers, Clayton O'Mary of Fayette and Ray O'Mary of Tuscaloosa.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Amilee Pullen
BOAZ - Amilee Pullen, 89, of 800 South Main St., died Thursday [12-30-1999] in an Albertville nursing home. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill No. 1 Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Carr Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include one son, Jackie Pullen of Boaz; one sister, Beatrice Russell of Boaz; and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Barbara D. Singleton
Barbara DeArmond Singleton, 58, of Huntsville died Thursday [12-30-1999] at a local hospital. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce arrangements.
Mrs. Singleton was a member of Harvest Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry W. Singleton; one sister, Frances Gray of Toney; and several nieces, uncles, great-nieces and one great-nephew.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Wanda R. Smith
UNION GROVE - Wanda Ruth Smith, 65, died Wednesday [12-29-1999] at her home. The funeral was Friday at New Hope Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Joe Stephenson officiating.
Burial was in Hayden Cemetery in New Hope.
Survivors include her husband, James E. Smith of Union Grove; one daughter, Jan Layne of Owens Cross Roads; one son, Danny Moon of Owens Cross Roads; three stepdaughters, Debbie Wooten of Union Grove, Darlene Boyd of California and Denise Dombrowski of Virginia; and one brother, three sisters, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
James C. Taylor
COMMERCE, Mich. - James C. ''Buddy'' Taylor, 86, died Tuesday [12-28-1999]. The funeral will be Wednesday, Jan. 5 at 1 p.m., at Harris Funeral Home in Garden City, Mich.
Mr. Taylor was a former resident of Owens Cross Roads, Ala.
Survivors include his wife, Annie; two sons, William Taylor and Ronald Taylor; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Quentin Troupe
TANNER - Quentin Troupe, 22, died Wednesday [12-29-1999]. The funeral will be today at noon at Little Ezekiel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Byrd officiating.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery with People's Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Troupe was a student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dorothy E. Weir
FLINTVILLE, Tenn. - Dorothy Elizabeth Weir, 80, died Friday [12-31-1999] at a Fayetteville hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Flintville Cemetery.
Mrs. Weir was a native of Boaz, Ala. She retired as an inspector for Serbin Fashions.
Survivors include three sisters, Louise Frazier of Albuquerque, N.M., Evelyn Boschetti of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Nora Davis of Hernando, Miss.; one brother, George Weir of Flintville; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
