SCOTTSBORO - Mildred White Beard, 84, died Friday [12-31-1999] at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Stevens officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Ceclia Beard of Scottsboro; one son, Billy Beard of Pisgah; one sister, Alice White Rudder of Scottsboro; and three grandchildren.
J.C. Beck
GRANT - J.C. Beck, 76, of 5016 Columbus City Road died Friday [12-31-1999] at an area hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Grant Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Anthony Barnes and Bro. Larry Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Free Home Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Itra O. Beck; three sons, David Beck of Grant, Charles Beck of Hixson, Tenn., and Ollen Beck of Woodville; one sister, Annie Mae McClendon of Detroit; one brother, Melvin Beck of Hazel Green ; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Dorothy G. Brown
Dorothy Grace Brown, 91, of Huntsville died Friday [12-31-1999] at a local hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. George Gravitte and Rev. Joel McGraw officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Brown was a native of Des Moines, Iowa. She retired from the Detroit Board of Education with more than 20 years of service. She had been a resident of Madison County for the past 25 years and was a member of Faith Chapel Pentecostal Church.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by two daughters, Carol E. Brown and Mary Lou Hyde.
Survivors include two daughters, Dolores Peck of Huntsville and Bonnie Borsuk of Panama City, Fla.; one son, Hans Hansen of Standish, Mich.; and 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Alta C. Dixon
BRIDGEPORT - Alta Chisenall Dixon, 72, died Friday [12-31-1999] at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at the Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson with the Rev. Robert Jones officiating.
Burial will be in Price Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Cagle of Section and Peggy McAllister of Stevenson; one son, Charles Dixon of Bridgeport; two sisters, Opal Lawson of Kinsington, Ga., and Hazel White of Flat Rock, Ala.; two brothers, Bob Chisenall of Stevenson and Albert Roy Chisenall of Chattanooga; and three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Comer E. Giles
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Comer Ellis Giles, 77, died Thursday [12-30-1999] at a local hospital. The graveside service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville with Dr. John Dudley officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Giles was a former resident of Florence, Ala. He was a retired traffic manager with R & D Trucking Company and member of Westminister Presbyterian Church in Hattiesburg.
Survivors include his wife, Temple Giles; one son, Mike Giles of Hattiesburg; one brother, Glenn Slayton of Huntsville; and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
Lillian A. Hays
Lillian Adair Hays, 87, of Huntsville died Friday [12-31-1999] at a local hospital. The graveside service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Hays was a member of College Park Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John D. Adair and Clevie William Hays.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Adair Wyatt and Glynna Adair Marshall, both of Huntsville; one sister, Ruby Chupp of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; one brother, Warner Davidson of Rebenna, Ohio; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Charles D. Headrick
TONEY - Charles D. ''Dave'' Headrick, 65, died Thursday [12-30-1999] at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with John M. Herndon officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Headrick was a native of Madison County. He was formerly employed with the Huntsville Police Department and was elected and served as sheriff for Madison County. He was a member of Pineview Baptist Church and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include one daughter, Kyra Hammond of Pensacola, Fla.; two sons, David Marlon of Guntersville and Chad Headrick of Harvest; and one sister, Norma Headrick Herndon of Florence.
Visitation will be Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Katherine Hutcherson
ARAB - Katherine Lucille Hutcherson, 79, of 500 Highland Drive died Friday [12-31-1999] at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Union Hill FCM Church.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include three daughters, Terry Suttles of Arab, Phyllis Fuller of Arkansas and Connie Cosenza of Georgia; two sons, J.L. Hutcherson of Texas and Travis D. Hutcherson of Florida; one sister, Juanita Castweel of Arkansas; and 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Lillian E. Jones
Lillian E. Jones, 89, of Huntsville died Thursday [12-30-1999] at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Royal Funeral Home with Elder John Nixon officiating.
Burial will be in Northside Cemetery with military honors.
Survivors include one son, Earl W. Jones of Ypailanti, Mich.; and one granddaughter, Yvette Jones of Southfield, Mich.
Gurnie L. Kirby
HARTSELLE - Gurnie Lee Kirby, 71, died Friday [12-31-1999] at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Hal Daigre officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery.
Mr. Kirby was a native of Winston County and a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He retired from Civil Service where he worked in accounting and finance. He was preceded in death by one brother, Lecil Kirby.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Kilgore Kirby; two sons, Michael Kirby of Chantilly, Va., and Gurnie J. Kirby of Rock Creek, Ala.; one daughter, Charlotte Tumminello of Florida; one sister, Hazel Walker of Hartselle; and 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
James E. Littleton
James E. Littleton, 65, of Huntsville died Friday, Dec. 24, [1999] at his home. The funeral was held Tuesday at Crosby Funeral Home in Alma, Ga., and burial with full military honors was in Stewart Cemetery.
A memorial service was held Friday at Sylverino Church in Fouke, Ark.
Master Sgt. Littleton was retired from the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by one son, Steven E. Wood.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda B. Littleton; four sons, Delane Littleton of Colorado Springs, Colo., Lawrence Littleton of Los Angeles, Scott Wood of Madison and Kenneth Littleton of Santa Monica, Calif.; four daughters, Susan McComas of Madison, Stacia Campbell of Toney, Sheryl Wood and Stephanie Littleton, both of Huntsville; his father, James A. Littleton of Texarkana, Ark.; two sisters, JoAnn Odom and Bettie Pelgreen, both of Fouke, Ark.; and 17 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Eliza Love
Eliza Love, 73, of 1302 Lancewood Drive in Huntsville died Monday [12-27-1999]. The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at First Seventh-day Adventist Church with Elder Benjamin Jones officiating.
Burial will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include two daughters, Lena Love of Huntsville and Alice Omaji of Starkville, Miss.; two sons, Bobby Joe Parker of Huntsville and Howard James Parker of Chattanooga; four sisters, Margaret Nance and Olivia Love, both of Huntsville, and Mary Pruett and Peacola Whatley, both of Chattanooga; two brothers, Willie Love of Huntsville and J.T. Love of Cleveland; and five grandchildren.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Edward T. Maze
ARAB - Edward Troy Maze, 81, of 1945 County Road 1855 died Friday [12-31-1999] at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Gober Funeral Home in Arab.
Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Maze; two sons, Jimmy Maze and Billy Maze, both of Arab; one sister, Ida Mae Glass of Arab; one brother, F.J. Maze of Arab; and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Barbara D. Singleton
Barbara DeArmond Singleton, 58, of Huntsville died Thursday [12-30-1999] at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Greg Tucker officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Singleton was a member of Harvest Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry W. Singleton; one sister, Frances Gray of Toney; and several nieces, uncles, great-nieces and one great-nephew.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary V. Snyder
Mary Viola Snyder, 78, of Huntsville died Friday [12-31-1999] at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with Lem Tipton officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Miss Snyder was a native and lifelong resident of Madison County. She retired from BellSouth with 37 years of service. She was a member of Central Church of Christ.
Survivors include three sisters, Lee S. Harford of Edgewater, Mo., Sarah S. Whitaker of Somerville and Ann S. Jackson of Madison; two brothers, Charles E. Snyder and Larry Snyder, both of Huntsville; and several nieces and nephews.

NASHVILLE - Oda Wade, 71, died Thursday [12-30-1999] at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Madkins Chapel C.P. Church in Huntsville with the Rev. Endia Scruggs officiating.
Burial will be in Northside Cemetery with Gardner Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Nashville in charge.
Mr. Wade was a former resident of Huntsville. He was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Wade Toney.
Surviviors include one aunt, Ira Copeland of Huntsville; and several cousins and friends.
Dorothy E. Weir
FLINTVILLE, Tenn. - Dorothy Elizabeth Weir, 80, died Friday [12-31-1999] at a Fayetteville hospital. The graveside service will be today at 1 p.m. at Flintville Cemetery with Gallant Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Weir was a native of Boaz, Ala. She retired as an inspector for Serbin Fashions.
Survivors include three sisters, Louise Frazier of Albuquerque, N.M., Evelyn Boschetti of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Nora Davis of Hernando, Miss.; one brother, George Weir of Flintville; and several nieces and nephews.
