Mary Allen
ATHENS - Mrs. Mary Louise Murphy Allen, 87, of Hargrove Street died Monday at her home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Calvin Inman and Tony Wales officiating.
Burial was to be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Allen was a homemaker and was preceded in death by one son, Charles Thomas Allen.
Survivors include her husband, Lafus Aaron Allen; three daughters, Barbara Wales of Athens, Norma Prater of Kennedy and Carolyn Moore of Ardmore, Ala.; two sons, Douglas D. Allen and Rudolph Allen, both of Athens; one sister, Oleen Willis of Athens; and 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Jesse L. Allison
FLAT ROCK - Jesse Lee Allison, 86, died Monday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at the Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with the Rev. Wayne McCrary officiating.
Burial was to be in Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Zada Allison; one daughter, Dama Jackson of Flat Rock; five sons, Robert D. Allison of Bryant and Wilson Allison, Jack Allison, Ray Allison and Perry Don Allison, all of Flat Rock; and 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Lola Carson
RAINSVILLE - Lola Carson, 85, died Tuesday at a DeKalb County hospital. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Rodney Carson and Junior Carson officiating.
Burial will be in Kirk Memorial Garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Earl Carson.
Survivors include one daughter, Jimmie Tidmore of Dawson; one son, Rayford Carson of Marietta, Ga.; and six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Anna Marie Cowan
DECATUR - Miss Anna Marie Cowan, 46, of Wallace Developmental Center died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home in Athens with Morris Adams officiating.
Burial will be in Dement Cemetery.
Survivors include her mother, Leoma Moore of Elkmont; three sisters, Mamie Dugger of Elkmont and Patsy Brown and Carolyn Green, both of Athens; five brothers, Scott Cowan of Tennessee, Clayton Cowan and John Wesley Cowan, both of Athens, and Donald Cowan and Monroe Cowan, both of Decatur; two half-brothers, Harvey Lee Cowan of Michigan and Bobby Cowan of Athens; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Eva M. Downey
Eva M. Downey, 92, of Huntsville died Monday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Carl Malm officiating.
Burial will be in Arnettsville Cemetery in Arnettsville, W.Va.
Mrs. Downey, a native of Morgantown, W.Va., was retired from West Virginia University. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Order of the White Shrine, the Ladies of the 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Masons and Order of the Amaranth. She was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Morgantown. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Loyd Downey.
Survivors include one daughter, E. Jeanne Richmond of Huntsville; two sons, William M. Downey of Huntsville and Arthur D. Downey of Berea, Ohio; and seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Family Care in Huntsville.

John C. Hale
John C. Hale, 79, of Huntsville died today at his home. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mr. Hale was part-owner of Hale Brothers Furniture Co. and a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Hale of Huntsville; one daughter, Sandra Welborn of Birmingham; two brothers, Russell Hale of Madisonville, Ky., and D.Z. Hale of Hazel Green ; two sisters, Nettie Spiller of Muscle Shoals and Ivalea Davis of Phil Campbell; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Family Care.

Harold S. Harnly
Retired Adm. Harold Shephard Harnly, 92, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local nursing home. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Adm. Harnly was a former president of Redstone Yacht Club. He was active in the Naval Academy Alumni Association and the Retired Officers Association.
Survivors include one daughter, Ann McKay of Monkton, Md.; two sons, retired Lt. Col. Richard Harnly, M.D., of Seattle, Wash.; two stepsons, Ed Litkenhous of Huntsville and Linn Litkenhous of Birmingham; and seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, the Navy Relief Fund or a favorite charity.

Rose C. Hinshaw
PAINT ROCK - Ms. Rose C. Hinshaw, 87, died Tuesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Scottsboro Funeral Home with Charles Washburn officiating.
Burial will be in Paint Rock Cemetery.
Ms. Hinshaw was preceded in death by one son, Cecil Hinshaw.
Survivors include one daughter, Martha Walker of Harvey, Ill.; and six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lena Lanier
Lena Lanier, 95, of Huntsville died Monday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Robert Mayo officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Lanier, a native of Jackson County, was retired from Huntsville Manufacturing Co. and was a member of Pleasmount Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edd Lanier, and two sons, Clarence Houk and Robert "Bud" Lanier.
Survivors include four granddaughters, Glenda Houk Lawrence of Madison, Ind., Chee-Chee Houk Moon of Scottsboro, Shelia Houk Hunter of Ocean Side, Calif., and Lisa Lanier Pepper of Athens; three grandsons, Jim Lanier and Mickey Lanier, both of Huntsville, and Clarence Houk Jr. of Lewisburg, Tenn.; and 15 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 3:30 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Cassandra B. Massey
MADISON - Cassandra B. Massey, 40, of 207 Usher Road died Monday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion M.B. Church with the Rev. Richard Hamlett officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Massey was a native of Toney and lived her whole life in Madison County. She was a member of Mt. Zion M.B. Church where she was in choir No. 2.
Survivors include her husband, Duncan Massey of Madison; one daughter, Tangela Tennille Massey of Madison; her mother, Bessie A. Binford of Harvest; two sisters, Betty Turner of Harvest and Jannifer Turner of Toney; and two brothers, Richard Binford of Huntsville and George Binford of Harvest.
Her body will be at the church two hours before the funeral. Visitation will be today from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Johnnie K. Morton
BOAZ - Mrs. Johnnie Kathryn Morton, 79, of 960 South King St. died Monday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home of Boaz.
Burial was to be in New Prospect Cemetery in Swearingin.
Survivors include two sons, Roy Kenneth Morrow of Boaz and Roger Dale Morrow of South Carolilna; two daughters, Glenda Sue Griffin of Gadsden and Wanda Gail Morrow of Florida; three brothers, Pete Whitaker of Tndiana, Burns Whitaker of Ider and Roy Whitaker of Indiana; a sister, Louise Wilman of Grant; and 14 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Edith L. Perry
Edith Louise Perry, 76, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Carl Malm officiating.
Burial will be in Stateline Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by one son, Lannice Joe Bates.
Survivors include one daughter, Paulette Visser of San Antonio, Texas; two sons, Paul Warren Bates and Steve Wilson, both of Huntsville; one sister, Virginia Cantrell of Huntsville; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 3:30 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

William Pfeiffer
William "Randy" Pfeiffer III, 54, of Huntsville died Tuesday at his home. Valhalla Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Survivors include two sisters, Patricia Edwards and Michele Farr, both of Huntsville; one brother, Brian J. Pfeiffer of Half Moon Bay, Calif.; and one niece and one nephew.

Thomas F. Piotrowski
Thomas Floyd "Tom" Piotrowski, 35, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Johns Catholic Church in Oxford, Miss., with the Rev. Leopold Keffler officiating.
Burial will be in Clear Creek Cemetery in Oxford with Waller Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Piotrowski was a self-employed cabinet maker and finish carpenter. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and was a former resident of Oxford.
Survivors include his parents, James F. and Lois M. Piotrowski of Oxford; two sisters, Mary Bailey of Mulberry, Tenn., and Julie Pittman of Oxford; three brothers, Charles Piotrowski of Huntsville, Michael Piotrowski of Port Angeles, Wash., and John Piotrowski of Oxford.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Johns Catholic Church.

Anna E. Stewart
Anna E. Stewart, 79, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Meridianville P.B. Church with the Rev. Maurice Childress officiating.
Burial will be in Stewart Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include seven daughters, Carlean S. Pettus, Carolyn S. Powers, Dolly S. Fearn, Jacqueline S. Rice and Angelette S. Felethen, all of Huntsville, Emma S. Binford of Limestone and Gregori S. Parker of Montgomery; four sons, Robert Stewart, Harold Stewart, Tyrone Stewart and David Stewart, all of Huntsville; six sisters, Elizabeth Love, Ora Childress, Geraldine Bell and Loratta Langford, all of Huntsville, Lucy Sledge of Harvest and Eloria Tibbs of Cleveland, Ohio; three brothers, Willie B. Battle, James E. Battle and Jerry Battle, all of Huntsville; and 25 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Aaron F. Ursery
GUNTERSVILLE - Aaron Franklin Ursery, 92, of 565 Brown Creek Road died Sunday at his home. The graveside service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Memory Hill Gardens in Memphis, Tenn., with Rev. Bob Hunt and Dr. Joel Sanders officiating.
Mr. Ursery was a member of First Baptist Church in Guntersville and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include one son, Billy Charles Ursery of Guntersville; one daughter-in-law, Ann Ursery of Guntersville; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home of Guntersville.
