Mrs. Ertis H. Andrews, 93, of Huntsville died Monday at a local nursing home. The graveside service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Forestlawn Cemetery in Anniston with the Rev. Franklin Carter officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home will be in charge.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris M. Posey of Marietta, Ga., and Joetta McComas of Huntsville; one son, John W. McGinty Jr. of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
Eva Bedingfield
ATHENS - Eva Lucille Bedingfield, 83, of Jones Crossroads died Monday at an Athens hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Keith Harbin and Larry Fain officiating.
Mrs. Bedingfield was a native of Limestone County, a homemaker and a member of Sardis Springs Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford ''Bud Bedingfield Sr., and one son, Coy Wayne Bedingfield.
Survivors include two daughters, Mildred Bedingfield of Athens and Carolyn Caghren of Hartselle; five sons, Buford Bedingfield Jr. of Metairie, La., Jimmy Bedingfield of Somerville, Alton Bedingfield Sr., Roger Bedingfield and Milton Bedingfield, all of Athens; one sister, Rosie Lee Cramer of Decatur; one brother, Bennie Brumitt of Michigan; several half-brothers and half-sisters, 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer/Dementia Support Group in Athens.
Dudley Black
ATHENS - Dudley Black, 54, of Bell Road died Wednesday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Paul Clutts and Bill Bailey officiating.
Mr. Black was a native of Morgan County, a member of Round Island Baptist Church and an employee of Champion International Corp. He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Samuel Black.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Black; one daughter, Paula Norwood of Athens; one stepdaughter, Kim Davis of Athens; two stepsons, David Harwell of Tuscaloosa and Anthony Harwell of Jacksonville, Fla.; six sisters, Edith Birdwell of Tanner, Arlene Embody of Columbus, Ga., Catherine Stockdale of Clewiston, Fla., Hazel Tucker of Trinity, Ruby Naylor and Sherry Scruggs, both of Athens; one brother, J.T. Black of Athens; and three grandchildren.
Mildred Black
UNION GROVE - Mildred Black, 75, of 12219 U.S. 231 died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Gober Funeral Home in Arab.
Survivors include her husband, Lester Black; one daughter, Jo Ann Taylor of Union Grove; two brothers, Paul Shockley of Florence and Carl Shockley of Albertville; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
Harold A. Brewer
WARNER ROBINS, Ga. - Retired Army Capt. Harold A. Brewer, formerly of Grant, died Monday. The funeral will be Friday at Grant Memorial Chapel with Brother Anthony Barnes officiating and Brother Warren Smith participating. The time for the funeral was not immediately available from Grant Funeral Home.
Capt. Brewer was a World War II veteran and retired in 1964. His assignments included several posts in the United States plus posts in Germany, Okinawa and Thailand where he was ordnance adviser to the Royal Thai Army. In his last Army assignment he commanded the missile repair facility Robins Air Force Base in Georgia.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Parris Brewer; two sons, Harold A. Brewer Jr. and Keith Brewer, both of Atlanta; and four grandchildren.
Merle Emerson
Dr. Merle T. Emerson, 67, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. A memorial service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William McWeeny officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home will be in charge.
Dr. Emerson was born in Spokane, Wash., and received a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Washington. He taught at Wayne State University, Florida State University and the University of Alabama in Huntsville where he retired after 26 years of teaching there.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Emerson; one daughter, Pamela Ruth Emerson of Huntsville; one son, Paule Merle Emerson; and two sisters, Sara Emerson and Mariedyth Emerson, both of Spokane.
Visitation will be today at Laughlin from 4 to 7 p.m.
Memorial donations may be sent to the American Lung Association, the American Diabetes Association or Trinity Presbyterian Church.
William A. Hall
William A. Hall, 68, of 6022 Sandia Blvd. died Monday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Blackburn Chapel C.P. Church with Dr. Henry Bradford Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine W. Hall; three daughters, Glorietta Hall Crutcher of Huntsville, Shean Valencia Belle of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Joni J.K. Magwood of Hazel Green ; one son, Paul Alexander Hall of Venice, Calif.; one adopted son, Blakely Barton; one sister, Florence H. Rowser of of Brewton; three brothers, Moses Thomas Hall of San Pablo, Calif., and Richard and Johnny Hall, both of Daphne, Ala.; and two grandchildren.
The body will be at the church an hour before the service.
Minnie S. Dunn Hatch, 92, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a nursing home. The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with J.B. Whitaker officiating.
Mr. Hatch was a Madison County native and a member of Central Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Mildred Bell Shubert and Melba L. Maples; two sons, Connie E. Dunn and Tom Dunn, all of Huntsville; two brothers, Ed Smith of Owens Cross Roads and Alvie Smith of Anniston; two grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
Michael S. Howard
TONEY - Michael Scott Howard, 27, died Wednesday, April 29, in Portsmouth, Va. A memorial service will be Thursday, May 14, at 1 p.m. at Southwood Presbyterian Churchy with the Rev. Barney Heyward officiating.
A graveside service will follow at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mr. Howard attended Westminster Christian Academy and the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He served in the Navy.
Survivors include his parents, Truman and Sharon Howard of Toney; his grandmother, Catherine Howard of Huntsville; one son, Michael Howard; one daughter, Sarah Howard, both of Portsmouth; seven brothers, Richard Howard of Huntsville, Scott Howard of Memphis and Zachary Howard, Keith Howard, Aaron Howard, Daniel Howard and Luke Howard, all of Toney; and two sisters, Jodi Flannagan and Kimberly Dempsey, both of Huntsville.

Jeremiah Kidd
RAINSVILLE - Jeremiah Kendrick Kidd, 20, died Wednesday in Memphis. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with Nathan Kidwell officiating.
Survivors include his parents, Ellen Blackwell Ellis and Rickey Vaughn Kidd, both of Rainsville; two sisters, Amy Sivly of Arab and Christy Sansom of Rainsville; one grandparent, Clevedale Lacky of Section; one niece and one nephew.
Mattie W. Lane
ATHENS - Mattie Willard Lane, 89, of Glover Road died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Cecil Norman officiating.
Mrs. Lane was a homemaker and a member of Truth Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Anne Lane of Athens, Nella Sandberg of Elkmont, Lulu Lane and Brenda Linginfetter, both of Peoria, Ill., three sons, Joe C. Lane of Sanford, Fla., Leo Lane of San Antonio and Marshall Ray Lane of Decatur; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Thomas Mewbourn Jr.
FAYETTEVILLE - Thomas Mewbourn Jr., 73, of 1681 Winchester Highway died Wednesday at a Fayetteville nursing home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Fayetteville chapel of McCauley Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Gay officiating.
Mr. Mewbourn was a native of Anderson, Ala., a construction worker and a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Clark of Ardmore, Ala., and Carolyn Swinford of Fayetteville; three sons, Thomas Larry Mewbourn of Fayetteville, Donny Mewbourn of Hazel Green and Phillip Mewbourn of Nashville; three sisters, Virginia Quattleband of Cullman, and Joyce Noles and Aldean Noles, both of Anderson, Ala.; one brother, Paul Mewbourn of Anderson; six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
John Henry Minton
John Henry Minton, 72, of Huntsville died Tuesday at his home. No public funeral is planned.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge.
Mr. Minton was a Mississippi native, a retired tech writer from Boeing and a World War II and Korean War veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Libbie Minton; one daughter, L. Tudor Wessel of Madison; three sons, Johnny Minton of Decatur, Ga., Peter Minton of Atlanta and Bill Minton of the merchant marine; and three grandchildren.
John Simpson
DECATUR - John Simpson, 86, died Monday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Friday at noon at First M.B. Church in Hillsboro with the Rev. T.L. Swoopes officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery with Sharpley Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Simpson was born May 11, 1911. He was a member of the First M.B. Church and of Ascension Masonic Lodge #72 and was a retiree from Hartselle Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Sue Adams Simpson; two sons, Freddie Simpson and Johnnie Simpson, both of Hillsboro; 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
The body will be at the church an hour before the service.
Iver Lou Smith
BOAZ - Iver Lou Smith, 86, died Wednesday at a Gadsden hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, Roy H. Smith; one daughter, Judy Parris of Albertville; four sons, James Smith and Horace Smith, both of Boaz, Harold Smith of Ohio and Kenneth ''Butch Smith of Jackson; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Martha Talmadge
ANNISTON - Martha Talmadge, 63, died Monday at her home. The funeral will be announced by Madison Chapel.
Robert Westover Sr.
REDMOND, Wash. - Robert W. ''Bob Westover, 89, formerly of Huntsville, died Wednesday, April 29 in Kirkland, Wash. A memorial service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Louise Catholic Church in Bellevue, Wash.
A reception for family and close friends will follow at the home of Mr. Westovers son, Robert W. Westover Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Betty M. Westover; two sons, Robert W. Westover Jr. of Bellevue and Joseph R. Westover of Redmond; two sisters, Lucile ''Sis Blodgett and Bicki Westover, both of Couer dAlene, Wash.; one brother, Joseph Westover of Brooksville, Fla.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mary Shedd Williams
HARTSELLE - Mary H. Shedd Williams, 93, of 1611 Peach Orchard Road died Tuesday at a Decatur nursing home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Slack officiating.
Burial was to be in Union Hill Cemetery near Russellville.
Mrs. Williams was a bookkeeper for Union News Co. in Birmingham and was preceded in death by one daughter, Bobbie Ann Sparks, and three sons, Charles M. Shedd, Berry C. Shedd and Grady Mack Shedd.
Survivors include two daughters, Lillian Hancock of Hartselle, Mary A. Jessup of Huntsville; three sons, Eugene Shedd of New Hope, Thomas W. Shedd of Columbia, Tenn., and Arie Lionel Shedd of Hartselle; and one sister, Lillian Flippo of Trapptown, Ala.
