Gary L. Aldridge
BIRMINGHAM - Gary L. Aldridge, 47, died Sunday, July 12, in Alaska. The funeral will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Hartselle.
Burial will be in Reeves Cemetery in Hartselle with Peck Funeral Home of Hartselle directing.
Mr. Aldridge was an attorney, head of a Birmingham law firm, an Army veteran, a 1974 graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville and a 1977 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law. From 1982-1986, he was a state senator, representing Morgan and Lawrence counties. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hartselle and an artist.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha White Aldridge; his mother, Eva Hogan of Hartselle; one sister, Shelby Reeves of Hartselle; three brothers, Gwen Morgan of Decatur, Larry Morgan of Addison and Mickey Aldridge of Flintville.
Visitation will be today from 5 until 9 p.m., and Monday from 10 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.

Ethel Hanson Camp
ALBERTVILLE - Ethel Hanson Camp, 89, of Albertville died Saturday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home of Boaz.
Burial will be in Marshall Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mamie Medlock of Boaz; a special friend, Glenda Kilpatrick of Boaz; and several nieces and nephews.
William H. Guerin
BROWNSBORO - William H. Guerin, 78, died Friday at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. James Harrell and the Rev. James George officiating.
Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery.
Mr. Guerin was a Madison County native, a deacon at Wears Chapel Baptist Church and a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Katie Guerin; one daughter, Ann Hooper of Brownsboro; one sister, Eulene Szymkowski of San Diego; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m.
Lillian W. Power
GURLEY - Lillian W. Power, 84, died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Carpenter and the Rev. Darryl Garrett officiating.
Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery with Laughlin Service Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Power taught for 45 years in the Madison County schools. She was an active and lifelong member of Chestnut Grove church.
Survivors include her husband, James S. Power; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Laughlin.
Ozellar Neely Smith
GUNTERSVILLE - Ozellar Neely Smith, 78, of 409 Hill Ave. died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home of Albertville.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Number One Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Mattie Hand of Guntersville and Martha Williams of Altoona; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Marvin E. Spurgeon
GUNTERSVILLE - Marvin Erastus Spurgeon, 75, of 115 McDaniel Dr. died Friday at his home. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home of Guntersville.
Burial will be in Nixons Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Kilgore Spurgeon; a daughter, Deborah Halliwill of Guntersville; six sons, Larry Spurgeon of Boaz, Richard Spurgeon of Knoxville, Elton Spurgeon of Michigan and Clarence Spurgeon, Charles Spurgeon and Michael Spurgeon, all of Guntersville; four sisters, Annie Connley, Margaret Merritt, Molly Anderton and Ruby Hammond; two brothers, Henry Spurgeon of Altoona and Charles Spurgeon of Arab; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
William M. Thompson
HARTSELLE - William M. ''Billy Thompson, 70, of 178 Herring Road died Thursday at his residence. The funeral was Saturday at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. James Masters and the Rev. Don Rice officiating.
Burial was in Basham Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson was a member of Basham United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Shelia D. Thompson of Hartselle; a son, Darrell Thompson of Hartselle; two sisters, Irene Johnson and Tootsie Garrison, both of Hartselle; two brothers, Erby Thompson and J.W. Thompson, both of Hartselle; and three grandchildren.
Verlon Westbrook
ALBERTVILLE - Verlon Westbrook, 67, of 1205 Harris St. died Friday in a Birmingham hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Gober Funeral Home of Arab.
Mr. Westbrook was a former resident of Arab.
Burial will be in the New Braishers Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Westbrook; two sons, Barney Westbrook of Joppa and Lawayne Rollins of Georgia; two daughters, Brenda Gibson of Illinois and Shirley Rose of Attalla; a sister, Verna Dixon of Union Grove; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Woodrow Williams
ARAB - The Rev. Woodrow Williams, 84, of 746 8th St. N.E. died Friday at his home. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Arab Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Helms Williams; two sons, Thomas Williams of Cleveland and Paul Williams of Horton; one daughter, Irene Tidmore of Arab; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Helen A. Bigler
HAZEL GREEN - Helen Annalee Bigler, 63, of Matts Way died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Delaware, Ohio.
Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Deleware, Ohio, with Gallant Funeral Home of Hazel Green in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Bigler, a native of West Virginia, was a housewife and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Jeffery Bigler of Huntsville and Greg Bigler of Albany, Ga.; two sisters, Betty Gandee of Marion, Ohio, and Thurley ORourke of Panama City, Fla.; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Ruth Cunningham
FRANKEWING, Tenn. - Ruth Cunningham, 78, of 139 McBurg Road died Tuesday at a Tennessee nursing home. The funeral was to be today at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Wrights Cemetery.
Miss Cunningham was a native of Lincoln County and was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include one sister, Edna Thorpe of Frankewing; and several nieces and nephews.
Marcus L. Dailey
Marcus L. Dailey, 34, of Huntsville died Monday at his home. The graveside service was to be today at 11 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Pettey officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home was in charge of burial.
Survivors include his father, James Dailey Sr. of Huntsville; one brother, James Dailey Jr. of Huntsville; two sisters, Debbie Albright of Huntsville and Becky Davis of Abington, Md.; and one grandmother, Verna Lurker of Huntsville.
Memorial donations may be made to Sherwood Baptist Church.
David B. Dalton
David B. Dalton Sr., 61, of Huntsville died Tuesday at his home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Doug Hemphill officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Dalton was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church and the Kiwanis Club and was vice president of Huntsville Ski Club. He retired after 42 years in civil service as a Patriot project manager. After retirement he was a consultant for Sparta Inc. He was also an avid golfer, skier and traveler, and was a member of the Society of Logistics Engineering.
Survivors include one son, David B. Dalton Jr. of Huntsville; one daughter, Stacey Lynn Dalton of Huntsville; three brothers, Ronald Dalton of St. Louis, Mo., Chris Dalton of Knox, Ind., and Jim Dalton of Schererville, Ind.; three sisters, Martha Dalton of Beechton, Ill., Ruby Knauf of Rensselaer, Ind., and Mary L. Dalton of Midland, Texas; and his ex-wife, Lavada Dalton of Huntsville.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

OWENS CROSS ROADS - Lois Kent Dennis, 79, of 181 Sneed Ave. died Monday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at New Hope Funeral Home with the Revs. Matthew Penfield and Doug Hemphill officiating.
Burial will be in Byrd Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Mildred Hardin of Grant, Gurtha Pemberton of Montgomery and Martha Seay of Madison; one son, Lee "Bubba" Lanier of Huntsville; one stepdaughter, Gracie Lemley of Huntsville; three sisters, Opal Patrick of Cantonment, Fla., and Vestille Pylant and Lillian Beard, both of Owens Cross Roads; one brother, Iley Kent of Pinson; and five grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.

CROSSVILLE - Joe Ray Dobbins, 55, of 3508 County Road 8 died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 11 a.m. at Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial was in Walls Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Dobbins; one daughter, Pam Dobbins of Albertville; two sons, Joe Ray Dobbins Jr. of Boaz and Steven Dobbins of Albertville; two stepdaughters, Karen Cahela of Boaz and Debra Greer of Albertville; one stepson, Terry Greer of Crossville; three sisters, Edith Pedigo of Chattanooga, Joyce Holcomb of Boaz and Helen Sims of Georgia; and five grandchildren.
Margaret Hamilton
OSCAR, Ky. - Margaret Hamilton, 83, died Tuesday at her home. No services are planned.
Morrow Funeral Chapel will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one son, Ray Hamilton of Oscar; one grandson, Raymond Lee Hamilton Jr. of Huntsville; and two great-grandchildren.
Mary O. Hill
ESTILL SPRINGS, Tenn. - Mary Odell Hill, 85, of 303 Shasteen St. died Tuesday at a Winchester hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Watson-Gamble Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Hill of Estill Springs; one daughter, Odie Mann of Estill Springs; two sons, J.R. Hill of Huntsville and Donald Hill of Estill Springs; two sisters, Tommie Johnson and Mabel Johnson, both of Hillsboro, Tenn.; and 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Cynthia D. Jarmon
ALBERTVILLE - Cynthia Diane Jarmon, 27, of 100 Baltimore Ave. died Sunday at a Chattanooga hospital. The funeral was Tuesday at Adams Funeral Home.
Burial was in Marshall Memorial Garden.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie L. Martin.
Survivors include one daughter, Taylor Jarmon of Albertville; father and stepmother, Donald and Martha McCaffery of Albertville; two sisters, Miranda Jenkins of Albertville and Lynn Walls of Arab; one stepsister, Brenda Jenkins of Albertville; and grandmother, Lula Martin of Arab.
Orville F. Mears
Orville Floyd Mears, 66, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a McMinnville, Tenn., hospital. Valhalla Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mr. Mears was a native of Madison County.
Survivors include one sister, Pauline F. Maynor of Skyline, and four brothers, Roy J. Mears, Cecil E. Mears, W.T. Mears and Wayne A. Mears, all of Huntsville.
Nellie Mizell
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Nellie Jean Campbell Mizell, 60, of 607 William Jones Blvd. died Tuesday at a Lincoln County hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral home with the Rev. Sonny Moore officiating.
Burial will be in Gum Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Mizell was a native of Lincoln County.
Survivors include her husband, Leroy Mizell of Fayetteville; one daughter, Vicki Sims Muse of Cookeville, Tenn.; one son, Randall Sims of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two brothers, Bill Joe Campbell of Scottsboro and Knox J. Campbell of Knobnoster, Mo.; and two grandchildren.

J. Ryan OConnor
CROWN POINT, Ind. - J. Ryan OConnor, 16, died Sunday. Pruzin and Little Funeral Service in Crown Point will announce funeral arrangements.
Mr. OConnor was a member of St. Mary Church. He was a student at Crown Point High School and a member of the class of 2000. He was a football and baseball player and was in the honors program. His hobbies were fishing, hockey, golf and other sports.
Survivors include his mother, Patti Conci of Crown Point; his father, James OConnor of Huntsville; one sister, Caitlin OConnor of Crown Point; one brother, Cole OConnor of Crown Point; maternal grandmother, Dora Hastings of Huntsville; paternal grandparents, E.E. and Mary OConnor of Birmingham; and one great-grandmother, Mary Hastings of Scottsboro.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Lucy Mae Pryor, 90, of 2616 Conestoga Ave. died Saturday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Faithful Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville.
A.D. Porter and Sons Funeral Home in Louisville will be in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Pryor was a native of Limestone County.
Survivors include one daughter, Arkie Ann Morton of Louisville; two sons, James H. Crutcher of Huntsville and Moses Crutcher of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

DUTTON - Mrs. Zula Marie Slay, 87, died Monday at a Birmingham nursing home. The funeral was to be today at 11 a.m. at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with the Rev. Bud Durham officiating.
Burial was to be in Pleasant View Cemtery in Dutton.
Mrs. Slay was preceded in death by her husband, Roland ''Bunk Slay.
Survivors include one daughter, Elzena Smith of Birmingham; one sister, Pauline Harcrow; and one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
Gertrude R. Smith
HAZEL GREEN - Gertrude Reagan Smith, 88, of Greenville Pike died Monday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Bevills Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Benny Berry officiating.
Burial will be in Bevills Chapel Cemetery with Gallant Funeral Home of Hazel Green in charge.
Mrs. Smith, a native of Madison County, grew up in the Ryland Pike/Gurley area. She was a housewife and a member of Bevills Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Smith.
Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Landman of New Market, Doris Hoffpauir of Pearland, Texas, and Lynda Price of Hazel Green ; two sons, Jimmy E. Smith and John Smith, both of Fayetteville; and 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Bevills Chapel Baptist Church. Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
