Jack Dean Allen OPELIKA - Jack Dean Allen, 71, of Opelika died Thursday at an East Alabama hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Jeffcoat Chapel. Burial will be in Garden Hills Cemetery with Dr. John Jeffers officiating. Mr. Allen was born in Vernon, Ala. He had lived in the Auburn-Opelika area since 1955 and was a graduate of Auburn University. He was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Auburn First Baptist Church. He was in the Navy in the Pacific during World War II. Mr. Allen was a member of the Field Trial Association and served as its first president. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Odom Allen of Opelika; two daughters, Reta Allen McKannan of Huntsville and June Allen Christian of Dothan; three brothers, James R. Allen of Monroeville, William Henry Allen of Vernon and Edwin Allen of Amory, Miss.; and three grandchildren, Wynn Allen Christian of Dothan and Ryan David McKannan and Jennifer Auburn McKannan, both of Huntsville. Memorial donations may be made to the Alabama Arthritis Association, the American Heart Association and the EAMC Foundation Fund. Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jeffcoat Funeral Home in Opelika.

Harold A. Brewer WARNER ROBINS, Ga. - Retired Army Capt. Harold A. Brewer, formerly of Grant, died Monday. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at Grant Memorial Chapel with Brother Anthony Barnes officiating and Brother Warren Smith participating. Burial was to be at Panquin Cemetery. Capt. Brewer was a World War II veteran and retired in 1964. His assignments included several posts in the United States plus posts in Germany, Okinawa and Thailand where he was ordnance adviser to the Royal Thai Army. In his last Army assignment, he commanded the missile repair facility at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Parris Brewer; two sons, Harold A. Brewer Jr. and Keith Brewer, both of Atlanta; and four grandchildren.

Calvin Campbell ATHENS - Calvin ''Joe Campbell, 64, of 25795 Wooley Springs Road died Wednesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Calvin Inman and Ollie Adams officiating. Burial will be in German Town Cemetery. Mr. Campbell was a native of Ardmore, Tenn., a member of Community Baptist Church, a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a retired heavy equipment operator with TVA. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Ruf Campbell; one daughter, Vickie Pylant of Toney; one son, Randy J. Campbell of Athens; four sisters, Sarah Finley of Toney, Helen Bailes, Lucille Bailes and Martha Thompson, all of Ardmore; two brothers, John Willard Campbell of Athens and Edward Campbell of Pulaski, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.

Thomas J. Carroll ALBERTVILLE - Thomas Joseph ''T.J. Carroll, 66, of 397 Todd Ridge Road died Tuesday at a Cullman hospital. The funeral was Thursday at Adams Funeral Home in Albertville. Burial was in DeKalb Memorial Garden. Survivors include his wife, Fay Nell Carroll; two sons, Leon Carroll and Thomas Carroll, both of Albertville; two sisters, Geneva Smith of Boaz and Sue Eakes of Albertville; two brothers, Wallace Carroll of Rainsville and Charles Carroll of Boaz; and four grandchildren.

Lequince Cawthorn Lequince Shondell Cawthorn, 25, of 3815-C3 Newson Road died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Union Hill C.P. Church with the Rev. McKinley Jones officiating. Burial will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace with Royal Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include his wife, Tonia Logan Cawthorn; two sons, Damien Rashad Logan and Denzell Shondell Cawthorn; one stepson, DAlan Montez Rice; his mother, Christine Cawthorn, all of Huntsville; his father, Kenneth Walker of Atlanta; and one sister, Sonya Cawthorn of Huntsville. Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Royal chapel.

Ingeborg Centrella Ingeborg Elizabeth Centrella, 74, of Huntsville died Thursday at her home. The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Father Phil OKennedy officiating. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will be in charge. Mrs. Centrella was a member of Good Shepherd church and was born in Dortmund, Germany. After World War II, she moved to the United States and became an American citizen. She had lived in Huntsville since 1969 and was active in the real estate profession for more than 25 years. Survivors include her husband, Albert G. Centrella Sr.; one son, Albert C. Centrella Jr. of Huntsville; and one sister, Margaret Karmann of Dortmund, Germany. Visitation will be today at Laughlin from 6 to 8 p.m. with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.

Harold D. Cook ALTOONA - Harold Dewon Cook, 59, of Altoona died Tuesday at a Birmingham hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Burial was to be in the adjoining cemetery with Adams Funeral Home of Albertville directing. Survivors include one daughter, Regina Whitehead of Albertville; one son, Rodney Cook of Albertville; three stepdaughters, Debbie Horton of Snead, Cherie Clifton of Altoona and Penny New of Blountsville; one stepson, Russell Eller of Boaz; three sisters, Billie Slaton and Sue McKenzie, both of Albertville, and Judy Word of Crossville; one brother, Ray Cook of Albertville; and seven grandchildren.

Josie G. Dupree RAINSVILLE - Josie G. Dupree, 78, died Wednesday. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Turner officiating. Burial will be in Town Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Dupree was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Dupree; and one son, Ray Dupree. Survivors include one daughter, Sue Tilley of Rossville, Ga.; one son, James Vernon Dupree of Rainsville; one sister, Cordelia Braggs of Rainsville; two brothers, Archie Lanier and Calvin Lanier, both of Rainsville; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Lewis Felton DECATUR Lewis Felton, 50, died Thursday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be announced by Sharpley Funeral Home. Joe R. Franklin Sr. Joe Raby Franklin Sr., 62, of 2709 Thornton Circle died Wednesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Monday at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Huntsville with the Rev. Tommy Franklin officiating. Burial will be in Madison Crossroads Cemetery in Toney with Taylor Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Franklin was retired as housing administrator for the City of Huntsville Housing Authority. He was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church. He served in the Air Force in Korea, was a member of American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Elks Club and the Eagles Club. Survivors include his wife, Violet Jean Franklin; one son, Joe Franklin Jr. of Odenville, Ala.; one brother, Tommy Franklin of Kentucky and two sisters, Jean Franklin Spray and Ruby Franklin Boggs, both of Huntsville. Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. The body will be at the church an hour before the funeral.

William A. Hall William A. Hall, 68, of 6022 Sandia Blvd. died Monday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Blackburn Chapel C.P. Church with Elder Johnny Burrell officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Royal Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include his wife, Catherine W. Hall; three daughters, Glorietta Hall Crutcher of Huntsville, Shean Valencia Belle of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Joni J.K. Magwood of Hazel Green ; one son, Paul Alexander Hall of Venice, Calif.; one adopted son, Blakely Barton; two stepdaughters, Katrina Smith and Therina Elliott, both of Huntsville; one sister, Florence H. Rowser of of Brewton; three brothers, Moses Thomas Hall of San Pablo, Calif., and Richard and Johnny Hall, both of Daphne, Ala.; and four grandchildren. The body will be at the church an hour before the service.

Minnie Dunn Hatch Minnie S. Dunn Hatch, 92, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a nursing home. The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with J.B. Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Hatch was a Madison County native and a member of Central Church of Christ. Survivors include two daughters, Mildred Bell Shubert and Melba L. Maples; two sons, Connie E. Dunn and Tom Dunn, all of Huntsville; two brothers, Ed Smith of Owens Cross Roads and Alvie Smith of Anniston; two grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Clarence Jackson Clarence W. Jackson, 69, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a local hospital. The memorial service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Willowbrook Baptist Church with the Rev. John Dees officiating. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will be in charge. Mr. Jackson was a graduate of the University of Alabama with a bachelors degree in accounting. Survivors include his wife, Sara Nell Jackson; one daughter, Nancy Reed; one son, Randal Jackson, both of Huntsville; two brothers, Cecil Jackson of Knoxville and Charles Jackson of El Paso; three sisters, Bobby Griswold of Huntsville, Lila Wells of Birmingham and Rose Moseley of Knoxville; and four grandchildren, Rachel Ashley Reed, Blake Andrew Reed, Austin May Jackson and Reese Vaughan Jackson, all of Huntsville. Visitation will be today at Laughlin from 6 to 8 p.m.

Bridgett Lacy Bridgett LuRue Lacy, 20, of 4301 Blue Spring Road died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at noon at Union Chapel M.B. Church with Pastor O. Wendell Davis officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include her mother, Lee Ruth Lacy; one daughter, Kaliyah Alexandria Lacy; two sisters, Jacqueline Cowan and Priscilla Lacy; three brothers, Warren B. Lacy and Marvin P. Lacy, all of Huntsville, and Charles Farrell Lacy of Knoxville; and her grandmother, Bernice Gordon of Huntsville. The body will be at the church an hour before the funeral.

Nora Elizabeth Locke McMINNVILLE, Tenn. - Nora Elizabeth Locke of 94 Gay Road died Wednesday at a Tennessee hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at High Funeral Home chapel with Richard Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the Gardens of Mercy. Survivors include her husband, Coy Locke; two daughters, Elizabeth Marie Hennessee of Athens and Jollyn Jones of McMillan; three sisters, Leona Wilson, Ethel Morton and Eloise Ganey, all of Huntsville; one brother, Jim Grimmett; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be today until 10 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the service.

Dora M. Lynch ROME, Ga. - Dora Mae Lynch, 66, died Tuesday. The funeral was today at 10 a.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home. Burial was in Hytop Cemetery. Mrs. Lynch and her late husband, Samuel Bill Lynch, owned and operated Lynchs Radiator Service since 1970. Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Rhinehart of Cave Spring, Ga.; one son, Leslie Lynch of Rome; two sisters, Martha Henderson of Larkinsville, Ala., and Pauline Miller of Scottsboro; one brother, William Cornelison of Rome; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Betty S. Monroe SYLVANIA - Betty Sue Monroe, 68, died Thursday at her home. The funeral will be Saturday at 4 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Fricks officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Herman Monroe; three daughters, Judy Gass of Henagar and Diana Monroe and Syberia Franz, both of Sylvania; two sons, Joe Monroe of Henagar and James Monroe of Sylvania; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation was to be today at the funeral home.

Emily P. Moorman Emily Pitman Moorman, 85, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The graveside service will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Dr. William H. Bostick Jr. officiating. Mrs. Moorman was a volunteer with Burritt Museum and a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Robert S. Moorman; three sons, Robert S. Moorman Jr. of Huntsville, William R. Moorman of Baton Rouge and M. Ridley Moorman of Denver; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.

Ruffus Pointer DECATUR - Ruffus Pointer, 78, died Thursday at his home. The funeral will be announced by Sharpley Funeral Home.

Otis Pyron ATHENS - Otis Pharis Pyron, 85, of Hoffman Street died Thursday at an Ardmore nursing home. The funeral will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens. Mr. Pyron was a member of Athens Masonic Lodge and Cahaba Shrine Temple and was retired from Redstone Arsenal. Survivors include his wife, Corinne ''Corky Pyron; two daughters, Wynell Dement of Athens and Geraldine Gideon of Lompoc, Calif.; two sons, John Pyron and Morris Pyron, both of Elkmont; two stepsons, Duane Pugh of Athens and Gregory Pugh of Elkmont; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Milton Riddle JACKSONVILLE, Ark. - Milton Moss Riddle, 83, formerly of Huntsville, died Wednesday. A private family funeral is planned. Moores Jacksonville Funeral Home will be in charge. Mr. Riddle was a Huntsville policeman in the 1940s. Survivors include his wife, Avijean Riddle; three sons, John Riddle of Alabama, Milton Riddle of Florida and Matthew Riddle of Texas; two daughters, Carolyn Simpson of Texas and Vickie Standridge of Ohio; two brothers, Carl Riddle and L.R. Riddle, both of Alabama; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Glenda Sanford BOAZ - Glenda Sanford, 52, of 1002 Ron Ave. died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Boaz. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery with Carr Funeral Home of Boaz directing. She was preceded in death by two sons, Bryan Sanford and Christopher Sanford. Survivors include her husband, Bruce Sanford; one brother, Phillip Gable of Indiana; and one aunt, Shirley Chaviers of Douglas.

Hayden G. Smith LESTER - Hayden Gipson Smith, 83, of Short Cut Road died Thursday at an Athens hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Salem Church of Christ with Joe Quillen officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home of Athens directing. Mr. Smith was a native of Limestone County, a retired painter, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Clara Smith; and one granddaughter, Anita Jackson of Lester.

Jack Summerford DAWSON - Jack Summerford, 64, died Wednesday at his home. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Kerry Fergerson officiating. Burial will be in Old Sardis Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Evangelia Jeannie Sharp of Trenton, Ga., and Delaine Dean-Mattox of Henagar; three sons, Winford Joe Summerford of Dutton and William Dan Summerford and Jeffery Scott, both of Henagar; seven sisters, Marie Wooten and Joyce Brown, both of Rainsville; Jewell Guffey and Doris Pruitt, both of Henagar, Betty Jo Wooden of Dalton, Ga., Shirley Ann Hancock of Dutton and Gracie Mars of Scottsboro; four brothers, Howard Summerford of Trenton, Billy Summerford of Rainsville, Ernest Summerford of Flat Rock and Roy Summerford of Henagar; and nine grandchildren.
