Mattie L. Bearden
SCOTTSBORO - Mattie Louise Guthrie Bearden, 95, died Saturday at a Jackson County hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include two daughters, Nell Matthews of Chattanooga and Sue Payton of Scottsboro; three sons, Monroe Bearden Jr. of Fort Morgan, Colo., and Joe W. Bearden and Melvin Ray Bearden, both of Scottsboro; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 5 to 9 p.m.

Darlene Bentford
Darlene Clack Bentford, 50, of Huntsville died Friday at a local hospital. Sharpley Funeral Home will announce the funeral.

L.D. Boozer
SCOTTSBORO - L.D. Boozer, 79, of Scottsboro died Friday at a Marshall County hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Bill Venable officiating.
Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Boozer; one daughter, Josephine Bryant of Dutton; two sons, Gerald Boozer and James David Boozer, both of Scottsboro; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

George J. Douthit
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - George Jackson Douthit, 65, of 815 Morningside Drive died Saturday at a Gadsden hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
Burial will be at Jacksonville City Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Byers Douthit; one daughter, Pam D. Deerman of Huntsville; one son, Dr. George Jackson ''Butch Douthit Jr. of Gadsden; four brothers, Floyd Douthit and Bob Douthit, both of Huntsville, Jim Douthit of Jacksonville, Ala., and Frank Douthit of Piedmont; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville Building Fund, Habitat for Humanity or a favorite charity.

Lynn C. Green
ATHENS - Lynn Cantrell Green, 40, died Friday at her home. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel in Huntsville with the Rev. Mike McFarlen officiating.
Burial will be in Stateline Cemetery.
Ms. Green was a native of Madison County.
Survivors include two daughters, Stacy McGregor and Rebecca ''Becky Green, both of Athens; one son, Jeremy Cantrell of Huntsville; her parents, Jerry and Virginia Cantrell of Huntsville; one sister, Kelly Dutton of Huntsville; two brothers, Mark Cantrell and Phillip Cantrell, both of Huntsville; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m.

Erline T. Green haw
ATHENS - Erline Tucker Green haw, 99, of 611 West Market St. died Saturday at an Athens nursing home. The graveside service will be at 4 p.m. today at Athens City Cemetery with Jackie Green haw officiating and Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Weaver Green haw, and three sons, Dub Green haw, Jasper Green haw and Oakley Green haw.
Survivors include one sister, Effie Ridgeway of Georgia; one daughter-in-law, Edna Green haw of Athens; eight grandchildren, Jimmy Green haw, Herby Green haw, Jackie Green haw, Jean Sharpe, Jane Patterson, Johnny Green haw, Ginger Murphy and Dexter Green haw; 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be today at the home of Jimmy Green haw, 121 N. Jefferson St., Athens.
Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.

James Leonard Hall
CUMMINGS, Ga. - James Leonard Hall, 70, formerly of Rainsville, Ala., died Friday in Cummings. The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Gerald Shirey officiating.
Burial will be in Town Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Hall was a native of DeKalb County and a veteran.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Payne and Shirley Mitchell, both of Sylvania, Ala.; two sons, Michael Hall of Sylvania and Darril Hall of Alpharetta, Ga.; one sister, Leola Stallings of Augusta, Ark.; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

James W. League Jr.
James William ''Jimmy League Jr. of Huntsville died Saturday at his home. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Shannon League Samples of Huntsville; one son, James W. ''Will League III of Huntsville; his mother, Mrs. J.W. League of Huntsville; one sister, Janie Davis of Scottsboro; and two grandchildren, Alex Samples and Kyser Samples.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Laughlin.

Mattie E. Martin
Mattie Elizabeth Martin, 80, of Huntsville died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Love officiating.
Mrs. Martin was a native of Warren County, Tenn., and had lived in Huntsville since 1962. She was a member of the First Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, J.C. Martin Sr., of Huntsville; two sons, J.C. Martin Jr. of Huntsville and Dean Martin of Flintville, Tenn.; two daughters, Faye Huber and Joyce Wilkes, both of Huntsville; and two sisters, one brother, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m.

Clara Jane Poss
GUNTERSVILLE - Clara Jane Poss, 73, of 2309 Meadowood Circle, died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Pinkerd Funeral Home in Russellville.
Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens in Russellville.
Survivors include her husband, Harvey Poss; two sons, David W. Madden of Ozark and Jimmy C. Madden of Pensacola; one stepdaughter, Doris Humphries of Hodges; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.

Ethel D. Smith
BOAZ - Ethel Dobbins Smith, 93, of 366 Dailey St., died Saturday. The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Survivors include two sisters, Tola Spruell of Boaz and Martice Maxwell of Indiana, and a special niece, Janet Roberts of Boaz.

Hollice Teters
MADISON - Hollice Teters, 84, died Friday. The funeral will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Joel Logan officiating.
Burial will be in Fowlkes Cemetery in Monrovia.
Mr. Teters was a native of Deckerd, Tenn., and lived most of his life in Limestone and Madison counties. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and had retired from Chrysler Corp.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Teters; one stepdaughter, Myrna Riggs of Detroit; one brother, Henry Teters of Madison; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is today from 6 to 9 p.m.

James W. Tucker
NASHVILLE - James Wilburn Tucker, 74, of 2817 Paden Drive, formerly of Fayetteville, died Friday at a Towson, Md., hospital.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at McCauley Funeral Home in Fayetteville with the Rev. Tim Walker officiating.
Mr. Tucker was a Lincoln County native, a retired accountant with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and a member Dalewood Baptist Church in Nashville. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Tucker; one daughter, Andrea Evelius of Baltimore; one sister, Joyce Waters of Munford, Ala.; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be Monday from noon until the time of the service.
Memorial donations may be made to the Dalewood Baptist Church Building Fund.

Derrick W. Wheeler
PISGAH - Derrick W. Wheeler, 82, died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Pisgah Baptist Church with the Revs. Allan Crawford, Nolan Ford and Bill Lett officiating.
Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery with Kerby Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Wheeler served on the Farmers Telephone Co-Op board for 40 years and was retired after 36 years as a postal carrier. He was a deacon at Pisgah Baptist and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Florene Perry Wheeler; one son, Rick Wheeler of Scottsboro; one brother, Lewis A. Wheeler of Hixson, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, Lynde Wheeler, Andrea Wheeler and Shana Brooke Wheeler, all of Pisgah.
Visitation is today from 2:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The body will be at the church an hour before the service.
Memorial donations may be made to Pisgah Baptist Church.
