OWENS CROSS ROADS - Catherine M. Dennis, 79, of 240 Ed Spears Road died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Owens Cross Roads Methodist Church with Doug Hemphill officiating.
Burial will be in Moon Cemetery with New Hope Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Dennis was a member of Owens Cross Roads Methodist Church and had managed a grocery store for 50 years.
Survivors include one son, Orville Dennis of Guntersville; two daughters, Mary Jo Brannon of Altoona, Ala., and Betty Fowler of Owens Cross Roads; two sisters, Clara Price of Tennessee and Lola Hatfield of Owens Cross Roads; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
James P. Fife
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - James Pressley "Barney" Fife, 78, of 806 Orchard Drive died Sunday at a Fayetteville hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Dr. Calvin Todd officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Fife was a Lincoln County native and a World War II veteran. He was also a retired NASA electronics technician and a member of the Fayetteville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Edmonds Fife of Fayetteville; one daughter, Sussan Fife of Rome, Ga.; and one sister, Doris Flynn of Guntersville.
Visitation is today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Patsy J. Fortenberry
GUNTERSVILLE - Patsy June Fortenberry, 50, of 1203 Wyeth Drive died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville.
Burial plans will be announced later.
Survivors include her husband, R.E. Fortenberry; one daughter, Kristie Fortenberry of Guntersville; one son, Randall Fortenberry of Gadsden; her mother, Joyce King of Summitt; and one grandchild.
Josephine B. Knox
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Josephine B. Knox, 78, of 909 2nd Ave. died Saturday at a local nursing home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at McCauley Funeral Home with the Rev. Edwin Beard officiating.
Mrs. Knox was a Lincoln County native and a member of Harmes Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Knox of Fayetteville; one son, Micheal Knox of Laplace, La.; two sisters, Nancy Bevels and Rachel Horsley, both of Fayetteville; one brother, Russell Bradford of Fayetteville; and two grandchildren.
Dovie P. Lloyd
ANNISTON - Dovie Poe Lloyd, 95, died Sunday at an Anniston hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Eulaton United Methodist Church with the Revs. Sam Graham and John Cosby officiating.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Anniston in charge.
Mrs. Lloyd was preceded in death by her husband, J. Hampton Lloyd, and a son, James A. Lloyd.
Survivors include two daughters, Grace L. Gauldin of Huntsville and Geneva L. Aderholt of Anniston; two sisters, Demris Singleton of Oxford, Ala., and Daphene Lee of Lincoln, Ala.; one brother, Houston Poe of Lincoln; and nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be tonight at the funeral home.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Memorial donations may be made to the Eulaton United Methodist Church Sanctuary Fund or to the James A. Lloyd scholarship fund at Wellborn High School.
Robert D. McCamy
CULLMAN - Robert Donald McCamy, 70, died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Moss-Terry Funeral Chapel with Marcus Long and Mac Butram officiating.
Burial will be in Roswell Creek Cemetery in Blount County.
Survivors include his wife, Betty McCamy of Cullman; one son, Michael McCamy of Birmingham; and six nieces, six nephews and several other relatives.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Anthony L. McCrary
MARIETTA, Ga. - Anthony L. McCrary, 41, formerly of Huntsville, died Thursday at an Atlanta hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at noon at St Mark P.B. Church with the Rev. Ronald McCrary officiating.
Burial will be in Indian Creek Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Greta Clay McCrary of Marietta; two daughters, Katrice Clark of Birmingham and Kandia McCrary of Marietta; his parents, Alvin McCrary and Ernestine McCrary, both of Huntsville; four sisters, Constance Whitman, Sheila McCrary, Vivian Barnes and Alisha McCrary, all of Huntsville; and four brothers, Erwin McCrary and Alvin McCrary Jr., both of Huntsville, the Rev. Ronald McCrary of Austell, Ga., and Virgil McCrary of Birmingham.
Henry McElrath
Henry ''Pat McElrath, 87, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Stephens Episcopal Church with the Rev. A. Emile Joffrion officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Laughlin Service Funeral Home directing.
Mr. McElrath retired from Marshall Space Flight Center in 1973. He was a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a founding member of St. Stephens church.
Survivors include his wife, Floy W. McElrath; one son, Richard P. McElrath; one daughter, Linda M. Brown, all of Huntsville; one sister, Dorothy Duncan of Lexington, Ky.; two stepsons, William E. Lanier of Huntsville and Grady Lanier III of Andalusia; one stepdaughter, Nancy L. Towery of Huntsville; one granddaughter; and eight step-grandchildren.

ALBERTVILLE - Marvin Dial Stewart, 75, of 310 North Edmondson St. died Saturday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial was to be in Marshall Memorial Garden.
Survivors include his wife, Corine Stewart; one son, Marvin Stewart Jr. of Albertville; two stepdaughters, Deborah Watt of Michigan and Marcia Bright of Boaz; two sisters, Alice Cline and Lilia Swain, both of North Carolina; one brother, Douglas Stewart of South Carolina; and one grandchild.
Lillian F. Thrasher
Lillian F. Thrasher, 73, of Huntsville died Saturday at her home. Burial will be in New Castle, Ind., with Spry Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
Survivors include two nephews, Shane Thrasher of Ardmore, Ala., and Johnny OBanion of Indiana; and one niece, Starr Valerio of Harvest.
Ellis E. Wright
ARAB - Ellis Edward Wright, 90, of 838 Fry Gap Road died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Gober Funeral Home in Arab.
Burial was to be in Arab Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include wife, Laverne Wright; one daughter, Doris Thomas of Arab; two sons, Glen Wright of Cullman and Donald Wright of Scottsboro; four sisters, Era Maze of Arab, Pauline Wright and Chloe Hooten, both of Gardendale, and Verta Lee Hunt; and six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Harry L. Ball
HENAGAR - Harry Lee Ball, 83, died Monday. The funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with the Rev. Fred Porter and the Rev. Don Barrett officiating.
Burial will be in Buelah Chapel Cemetery in Cartersville, Ala.
Mr. Ball was retired from Dixie Yarns Inc. and was a member of the Woodland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Austin Ball; one daughter, Dorothy Lee Williamson of Cedartown, Ga.; three sons, John N. Ball of Chattanooga, Horace Glenn Ball of Pisgah, Ala., and Jimmy Carl Ball of Cartersville; one sister, Jenny Lou Rich of Stevenson; one brother, Bill Ball of Stevenson; and eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Walter Brauer
Walter Brauer, 76, of Huntsville died July 15 at a local hospital. No service was planned.
Mr. Brauer was a Navy carrier pilot until 1970. He also taught Navy Junior ROTC at Huntsville High School from 1975 until his retirement and was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church.
He donated his body to the University of Alabama in Birmingham for research.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Hamilton Brauer of Huntsville; two daughters, Holley Kennedy of Anniston and Frances Brauer of Nashville; and one son, Michael H. Brauer of San Diego, Calif.
Julius T. Camp
ALBERTVILLE - Julius T. Camp, 82, of 3410 Sectionline Road died Monday at a Gadsden hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Mount High Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie Mae Camp; five daughters, Jean Eubanks of Georgia and Melba Allison, Sandra Grimes, Patsy Reyes and Jackie Scott, all of Albertville; two sons, Terry Camp and Tony Camp, both of Albertville; and 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Kos Chunn
DECATUR - Kos Chunn, 91, died Sunday at his home. A graveside service was to be today at 10 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Hal Daigre officiating.
Roselawn Funeral Home will be in charge of burial.
Mr. Chunn was a member of First Independent Methodist Church, an Air Force veteran of World War II and was retired from Decatur Iron and Steel Co., where he worked 42 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mauvolene Grant Chunn; one brother, Loise Chunn; and 12 nieces and nephews.
Frances Corbett
COLUMBUS, Ga. - Ms. Frances Corbett, 77, died Monday at a Limestone County hospital. Spry Funeral Home of Athens will announce funeral arrangements.
Allie V. Duckett
ALBERTVILLE - Allie Verlon Duckett, 83, of 2628 High Point Road died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 4 p.m. at Central Baptist Church.
Burial was to be in Marshall Memorial Garden with Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Julia Duckett; three daughters, Syble Allen and Martha Johnson, both of Albertville, and Gail Davis of Huntsville; three sons, James Duckett of Texas, Truman Duckett of Birmingham and Scott Duckett of Arkansas; two sisters, Hazel Scofield of Georgia and Ethelene Benefield of Albertville; five brothers, Willie D. Duckett, Clyde Duckett, Joe Duckett and Earl Duckett, all of Albertville, and Thomas Duckett of Asbury; and 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Richard Maroney
VALHERMOSA SPRINGS - Richard Maroney, 75, died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Wedneday at 1:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. C.A. Jernigan and the Rev. Mike Farlin officiating.
Burial will be in Gurley City Cemetery.
Mr. Maroney was a native of Moore County, Tenn., but he was raised in Madison County. He was retired from Stephenson Chemical Corp. of College Park, Ga., was a World War II Navy veteran and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Atlanta.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Maroney of Valhermosa Springs; one son, Stephen Maroney of Decatur, Ga.; four brothers, Gilbert Maroney of Salmer, Joe Maroney of Reform, Derrell Maroney of Huntsville and Rex Maroney of Elkmont; and three sisters, Margaret Luna and Cleo Wells, both of Madison, and Lydia Mills of Ardmore, Ala.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Edwin F. McGrath, 85, of Huntsville died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mr. McGrath was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, a World War II and Korean War Army veteran, a lifetime member of American Legion Post No. 237 and VFW Post No. 367 and was retired from civil service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances I. McGrath.
Visitation was to be today from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arthur E. Meadows
Arthur E. "Ba Ba" Meadows, 56, of 2025 Levert St. in Huntsville died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Royal Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Theodis Acklin officiating.
Burial will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace.
Survivors include one son, Anthony Q. Harris of Huntsville; one brother, Varnell McGhee of Chattanooga; and one niece, Johnnie Mae Watkins of Chattanooga.
Mary Nunley
ATHENS - Mary Ellen Blair Nunley, 74, of 19000 Meadows Road died Saturday at her home. The funeral was Monday at Copeland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Phillip Babcock officiating.
Burial was in Copeland Cemetery with McConnell Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Nunley was a native of Limestone County, was retired from Parks Supply of Huntsville and was a member of Copeland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Mahlon Nunley; one son, David B. Nunley of Moscow, Russia; two daughters, Marci Nunley Siniard and Judy Nunley Vessels, both of Athens; two sisters, Naomi Blair Turner and Jean Blair Moore, both of Athens; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Orvil Y. Reece
Retired Air Force Lt. Col. Orvil Young Reece, 78, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mr. Reece received a bachelors degree in geology from the University of Alabama and began his career with the U.S. Bureau of Mines. He flew combat missions in Italy during World War II and was retired from NASA and McDonnell-Douglas. He also worked with Spacelab and the space shuttle. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Howell Reece of Huntsville; two sons, Dr. O.Y. Reece Jr. of Kinston, N.C., and David W. Reece of Hendersonville, Tenn.; two daughters, Becky R. Bridge of Huntsville and Mary Beth Price of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Sally C. Bryan of Huntsville and Ann C. McCary of Elizabeth City, N.C.; one brother, Dr. J.W. Reece of Huntsville; three sisters, Janice Jones of Tuscaloosa, Ruth Milner of Arlington, Va., and Dorcas Robinson of Ft. Payne; and 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Grace Sweetland
ATHENS - Grace Sweetland, 103, of 1600 West Hobbs St., died Saturday at a Limestone County hospital. The funeral was Monday at McConnell Funeral Home with Eddie Gooch officiating.
Burial was in Athens City Cemetery.
Mrs. Sweetland was a member of Tanner Methodist Church and made dolls that she sold with African violets.
Survivors include one daughter, Ruth Basmussen of Athens; one son, Bobby Sweetland of Athens; two half sisters, Margo Alexander of Houston, Texas, and Thelma Rasmussen of Washington state: two half brothers, Cab Deming and Forrest Deming, both of Weatherford, Okla.; and five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Nannie F. Young
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Nannie Frances Young, 71, of 12 Perkins Road died Monday at her home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at McCauley Funeral Home in Fayetteville with the Rev. Virgil Bailey officiating.
Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.
Mrs. Young was a Lincoln County native and a homemaker who attended the Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Young; two sons, Mike Young of Fayetteville and Phillip Young of Georgia; three sisters, Louise Ramsey of the Boonshill community and Bessie Smith and Jessie Morrison, both of Fayetteville; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
