VALLEY, Ala. - Emma Jean Broach, 83, died Tuesday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be in Valley and will be announced by Madison Chapel Funeral Home.
Survivors include one son, Billy G. Broach of Huntsville; and three brothers, Michael David Broach, Timothy Michael Broach and Jeffrey David Broach, all of Huntsville.
Mary Frances Corbett
COLUMBUS, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Frances Corbett, 77, died Monday at an Athens hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Gentian Baptist Church with Steve King officiating.
Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home of Athens in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Corbett was a member of Gentian Baptist Church and was retired from the Lanier Agency.
Survivors include her husband, Woodrow B. Corbett; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Wayne Reynolds of Athens; one sister, Jane Abercrombie of Columbus; one brother, Ralph Chalkley of Fortson, Ga.; two grandchildren and one niece and two nephews.
Tiny M. Grantland
Tiny M. Grantland, 73, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 10:30 a.m. at Twickenham Funeral Home south with Michael Owens officiating.
Burial will be in Valhermoso Springs Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Eddie Grantland of Huntsville; three daughters, Murline Boles of Athens, Barbara Ann Bacallao of New Hartford, N.Y., and Darlene Malone of Hazel Green ; one brother, Mark Graham of Fort White, Fla.; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Harrison of Bushnell, Fla.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the Valhermoso Springs cemetery fund.
Margaret H. Harwell
PULASKI, Tenn. - Margaret H. Harwell, 89, died Tuesday at a Nashville hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home in Pulaski with Maurice Moore officiating.
Burial will be in Giles Memory Garden.
Mrs. Harwell was a native of Tennessee and was postmaster in Frankewing, Tenn.
Survivors include one son, James Wright Harris of Huntsville; two stepsons, Morris Ed Harwell of Pulaski and Rolly Marks Harwell of Johnson City, Tenn.; one stepdaughter, Joyce Harwell Henson of Fayetteville, Tenn.; two sisters, Myrtice Harris and Georgia Luna, both of Boonshill, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, 11 step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren.
Jeptha Hollingsworth
Jeptha William Hollingsworth, 76, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The memorial service will be Thursday at 6 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with a Masonic service conducted by James E. Yates.
Mr. Hollingsworth was a member of Masonic Solar Lodge No. 914 and took part in many civic activities.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Hollingsworth of Huntsville; one son, Timothy Park Hollingsworth of Huntsville; one daughter, Marcye Lynn Hollingsworth of Huntsville; and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be Thursday one hour before the memorial service at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Masonic Childrens Home of North Alabama.
Catherine L. Ivy
Catherine Lee Ivy, 62, of Bob Wallace Avenue died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. John Garrison officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Ivy was a native of Madison County and a former assembly worker at SCI.
Survivors include her husband, William Ivy of Huntsville; two sons, John David Oakes of Atlanta and Rickey Lee Oakes of Kissimee, Fla.; one brother, Jacin W. Durham of Huntsville; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Gordon F. Malone
BOAZ - Gordon F. Malone, 55, of 1772 Buffington Road died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Boaz.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Williouse Malone; five sisters, Irene Howell, Willene Graves and Yvonne Stanfield, all of Gadsden, Peggy Van Alphen of Boaz and Barbara Hawkins of Decatur; and four brothers, Marcell Malone of Attalla, Charles Malone of Boaz, Jim Malone of Horton and Larry Malone of Gadsden.
Clifford R. Morgan
GURLEY - Clifford R. Morgan, 38, of 145 County Road 103 died Saturday in Athens. The funeral will be today at 8 p.m. at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home in Madisonville, Tenn., with the Rev. Bob Morgan and the Rev. Ralph Patton officiating.
Burial will be in Eleazar Cemetery.
Mr. Morgan was a self-employed cable contractor.
Survivors include his parents, Flossie and Thad Morgan of Gurley; three brothers, Austin T. Morgan of Madison, Jeffrey A. Morgan of Dalton, Ga., and Mark Morgan of Huntsville; one grandmother, Dorothy Morgan of Mt. Vernon, Tenn.; and four nieces and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
J.T. Perkins
ARAB - J.T. Perkins, 70, of 474 Apollo Road died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Shoal Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Perkins was a well-known fiddler in the area and had appeared in several movies.
Survivors include his wife, Neoma Perkins; and three sisters, Lottie Mae Wheelers of South Carolina and Naomi Roberts and Marcia Poole, both of Arab.
Orvil Y. Reece
Retired Air Force Lt. Col. Orvil Young Reece, 78, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Dr. William H. Bostick Jr. officiating.
Burial will be Thursday at 3 p.m. in Tuckers Chapel Cemetery in Fort Payne with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Reece received a bachelors degree in geology from the University of Alabama and began his career with the U.S. Bureau of Mines. He flew combat missions in Italy during World War II and was retired from NASA and McDonnell-Douglas. He also worked with Spacelab and the space shuttle. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Howell Reece of Huntsville; two sons, Dr. O.Y. Reece Jr. of Kinston, N.C., and David W. Reece of Hendersonville, Tenn.; two daughters, Becky R. Bridge of Huntsville and Mary Beth Price of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Sally C. Bryan of Huntsville and Ann C. McCary of Elizabeth City, N.C.; one brother, Dr. J.W. Reece of Huntsville; three sisters, Janice Jones of Tuscaloosa, Ruth Milner of Arlington, Va., and Dorcas Robinson of Ft. Payne; and 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rebecca G. Simpson
COLUMBUS, Ga. - Rebecca Gayle Simpson, 48, died Sunday at a local hospital. A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Arab Memorial Cemetery with Gober Funeral Home of Arab directing.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Simpson of Kentucky and Rickey Simpson of Oklahoma; three brothers, Richard Henry of Hawaii, Ronnie Henry of Smith and James Henry of Oklahoma; and five grandchildren.
Maggie M. Stanford
LESTER - Miss Maggie Mildred Stanford, 71, of 30563 Lester Road died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at McConnell Funeral home in Athens with Chuck Hood and Mark Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery.
Mrs. Stanford was a native of Limestone County, a member of Booth Chapel Church of Christ and was retired from D.E. Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include three sisters, Macie McNatt of Elkmont, Mary McNatt of Lester and Christine Wilburn of New Hope; five brothers, Davy Stanford of Anthony Hill, Tenn., Calvin Stanford, Dennis Stanford, Danny Stanford and Alvin Stanford, all of Lester; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Elaine Stinnett
ATHENS - Mrs. Elaine Stinnett, 69, of 16236 West Glenn Valley Dr. died Sunday at an Athens hospital. The funeral will be today at 4 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Stinnett was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, James Stinnett; three daughters, Shirley Butts of Holly, Mich., Barbara Fay of Waterford, Mich., and Charlene Hauk of Sparta, Tenn.; four sons, Robert James Stinnett of Hartland, Mich., Billy Preston Stinnett of Brooksville, Fla., Gerald Dwayne Stinnett of Athens and Stephen Guy Stinnett of Brooksville, Fla.; one brother, Merrill Ashley of Waterford, Mich.; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Effie P. Tipton
Effie P. Tipton, 75, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with Lowell Sallee officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Tipton was a member of the Church of Christ and spent her whole life in Madison County.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Tipton of Huntsville; one sister, Bessie Tipton of Huntsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Minnie M. Whitt
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Minnie Mae Whitt, 87, formerly of Ardmore, Ala., died Tuesday. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Ray Stonecypher, the Rev. Lynn Marshall and the Rev. Alan Roggli officiating.
Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery.
She was a longtime member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Harold Whitt and Wayne Whitt, both of Ardmore, Ala.; two sisters, Jessie Higgins and Bessie Smith, both of Fayetteville; and four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
