Ruth Adcox
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Ruth Adcox, 79, of 910 College St. died Thursday at a Lincoln County nursing home. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Burgess officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Adcox was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Adcox and Danny Adcox.
Survivors include four daughters, June Cunningham of Fayetteville, N.C., Patricia Hopper of Lewisburg, Tenn., and Roberta Christmas and Judy Flynt of Fayetteville, Tenn.; one son, Randy Adcox of Fayetteville, Tenn.; several brothers and sisters; and 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Lincoln Skill Care Center, P.O. Box 838, Fayetteville, Tenn., 37334.

Mary E. Baeder
HAZEL GREEN - Mary Ellen Baeder, 80, of Bobo Section Road died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Charity Cemetery with the Rev. David Tipton officiating.
Gallant Funeral Home will be in charge of burial.
Miss Baeder was a native of Madison County.
Survivors include one sister-in-law, Odell Baeder of Hazel Green and several cousins.
Visitation was to be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.

Demetrius M. Bates
HILLSBORO - Demetrius ManDale Bates, 24, died Thursday at a Lawrence County hospital. Sharpley Funeral Home of Decatur will announce funeral arrangements.

John B. Beck Jr.
John Bedford Beck Jr., 73, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bridgeport Church of Christ with Bros. Tim Rice and Barry Grider officiating.
Burial will be in Hackworth Cemetery with Rudder Funeral Home of Stevenson in charge.
Mr. Beck was a Navy veteran and a retired electrical engineer at Redstone Arsenal. He was also a member of West Huntsville Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Jane Beck of Huntsville; one daughter, Dr. Marian Beck Phillips of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sons, John Bedford Beck III of St. Louis, Mo., and Dave Beck of Atlanta; one stepson, Mickey Williams; one stepdaughter, Dorothy Jane Roberts; his mother, Velma Beck of Bridgeport; two brothers, Robert Lee Beck of Chattanooga and David Beck of Buffalo, N.Y.; and one sister, Ernestine Raulston of Bridgeport.
Visitation was to be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Memorial donations may be made to AGAPE or to West Huntsville Church of Christ.

Darlene M. Casey
FYFFE - Darlene Martin Casey, 43, died Thursday at her home. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Shorty Dover and the Rev. Kipp A. Box officiating.
Burial will be in Henagar Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Dustin Wyatt Casey of Fyffe; her parents, J.R. and Ruby Martin of Fyffe; three brothers, Bruce Martin of Rainsville, Lennie Martin of Powell and Tommy Martin of Sylvania; and one grandmother, Lois Bain.

Bernard H. Clark
OWENS CROSS ROADS - Bernard Hardy Clark, 77, of 1349 Cave Spring Road died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at New Hope Funeral Home chapel with Bros. James Glisson and Al Simmons officiating.
Burial will be in Byrd Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Clark of Owens Cross Roads; two sons, Emmett Clark of Hickory, La., and James Clark of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; one daughter, Vicki Hansher of Blair, Neb.; one stepson, Barry Aqua of Farmington Hills, Mich.; one stepdaughter, Doris Ann DeGrow of Middletown, Ohio; two sisters, Zena Coleman of Fort Payne and Ruby Sneed of Gurley; and 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ophelia C. Crutcher
Ophelia C. Crutcher, 77, of 303 Ward Ave. in Huntsville died Tuesday in Winchester, Tenn. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Royal Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dora Sharp officiating.
Burial will be in Brandontown Cemetery.
Survivors include one sister, Virginia Moore of Los Angeles; and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry L. Elston
SCOTTSBORO - Jerry Lee Elston, 38, an Alabama state trooper, died Sunday at a Nashville hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Hobson City with the Rev. Kelvin Elston officiating.
Burial will be in Sunlight Cemetery in Eastaboga, Ala., with Anniston Funeral Service in charge.
Mr. Elston had been an Alabama state trooper for 18 years.
Survivors include his mother, Josie B. Elston of Hobson City; his father, John R. Elston of Hobson City; two sisters, Gussie Harris of Chicago and Carol Garrett of Anniston; one brother, James Edward Elston of Hobson City; one godson, Paige Talley of Scottsboro; one godsister, Shiwana Hannah of Atlanta; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Josie E. Fletcher
NASHVILLE - Josie Everson Fletcher, 47, of 100 Jay St. died Saturday at a Nashville hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Union Hill C.P. Church with the Rev. Robert Leslie officiating.
Burial will be in Collier Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include her husband, George Allen Fletcher of Nashville; her mother, Jennie Everson Boone of Nashville; two brothers, Otha Lee Everson of Huntsville and Tom McCallie of Nashville; her stepmother, Mildred Everson of Huntsville; one stepsister, Olivia Eason.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Luke Ford
Luke Ford, 75, of Huntsville died Monday. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Mark P.B. Church with the Rev. John Clay officiating.
Burial will be in Blutchers Ford Cemetery with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Ford of Huntsville; three sons, Charlie W. Ford, Billy R. Ford and Michael Ford, all of Huntsville; seven daughters, Loutrica A. Martin, Dorothy M. Fletcher, Janette Ford, Leah A. Ford, Cassandra Ford, Priscilla Ford and Leish M. Ford, all of Huntsville; one brother, Roosevelt Ford of Huntsville; two sisters, Pauline Fearn of Huntsville and Lizzie Pruitt of New Market; and 31 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Chris Fortner
Chris Fortner, 21, of the Big Cove community died Wednesday. The funeral will be today at 4 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Charles Wilmon officiating.
Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery.
Mr. Fortner was a Jefferson County native, but spent most of his life in Madison County. He was a graduate of Madison County High School and had worked at Jesse Stutts Electrical Co.
Survivors include his parents, Cary and Margie Fortner of Big Cove; a grandfather, Earl Byrd of Big Cove; and a special friend, Jennifer Wilson of Huntsville.

Paul T. Lumpkin
Paul Talmadge Lumpkin, 70, of Huntsville died Thursday at his home. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam Wolfe officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Lumpkin was a World War II veteran and was retired from Xerox Corp.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Lumpkin of Huntsville; two daughters, Paula Mortazavi of Huntsville and Paige Frederick of Monrovia; three sisters, Robbie Forbes, Mary Grace Carr and Roberta Scott, all of Tennessee; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Easter L. Martin
Easter Lilly Martin, 80, of 8117 Hillside Lane in Huntsville died Tuesday at her daughters home in Jackson, Tenn. The funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark.
Langfords Funeral Service of Jonesboro will be in charge of burial.
Survivors include one son, Bill Wayne Martin of Huntsville; two daughters, Shirly Martin Bond of Jackson, Tenn., and Carolyn Duke of Huntsville; two sisters, Dorothy Feragutti and Louise Owens, both of Omaha, Neb.; and eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charles W. Poole
Charles Wallace Poole, 63, of Huntsville died Thursday at his home. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Larry Bishop officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mr. Poole was a native of Huntsville and an Air Force veteran.
Survivors include one son, Mark Poole of Athens; and two brothers, Wayne Poole of Brandon, Miss., and Arnold Poole of Petersburg, Tenn.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Five Points Baptist Church or to Hospice Family Care.

George A. Van Allen
MERIDIANVILLE - George Arthur Van Allen, 84, died Thursday at his home. The funeral will be Saturday in Howell, Mich., with Spry Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
Survivors include one son, James A. Van Allen of Meridianville; one sister, Grace Howard of Canada; and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Gordon White
Gordon White, 74, of 5020 Grizzard Road in Huntsville died Sunday near Watersmeet, Mich. The memorial service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Unitarian Universalist Church with Doak Mansfield officiating.
Mr. White was a 1950 graduate of the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. During his career he worked as a forester for several companies. He was a member of the American Pulpwood Association, the Walnut Council and the U.S. Poplar Council. He served as weed science delegate to the USSR, Hungary and Poland in 1989. He was the author and co-author of several articles on forestry issues and had worked to educate the public on forestry management.
Mr. White in 1987 received the W. Kelly Mosley Environmental Award for Achievements in Forestry, Wildlife and Related Resources from the Alabama Wildflower Society. He was elected a fellow in the Society of American Foresters in 1991 and was installed in the Alabama Hall of Fame of Foresters in 1995.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Elizabeth Hoisington White of Huntsville; one daughter, Miriam Van Winkle of Morning Sun, Iowa; one son, Dane White of Anniston; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Unitarian Universalist Church in Huntsville or to the Alabama division of the Southeastern Society of American Foresters in care of treasurer Sam Gravel, 4299 U.S. 72 East, Brownsboro, 35741.

Jim Woosley
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Jim Woosley, 86, of Route 1 in the Booneville community died Aug. 19 at a Lynchburg nursing home. The funeral was to be today at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Copeland officiating.
Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery.
Mr. Woosley was a native of Moore County, Tenn. He was a retired horse trainer and salesman and was a member of Booneville Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Joe Woosley of Fayetteville; and two grandsons, one granddaughter, two great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
