Alabama, U.S., County Marriage Records, 1805-1967 - 1814-1935

Marie J. Brunson

Marie J. Brunson, who had owned and operated Pat's Cricket House, died Monday in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 84.

Mrs. Brunson was a native and resident of Mobile. The Murphy High School graduate was a charter member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Robert Brunson of Mobile; two daughters, Patricia Lambert and Carolyn Sawyer, both of Mobile; two brothers, Percy Jackson of Orange Beach and Tom Jackson of Louisville, Ky.; one sister, Dorothy Mason of Mobile; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Donald Warren Jr.

GROVETOWN, Ga. - Donald William Warren Jr., a former longtime Mobile resident, died Saturday in Georgia from injuries sustained in a traffic accident. He was 31.

Warren, a business owner, was a native of Toledo, Ohio, and had moved to Grovetown from Mobile about a year ago.

Survivors include his wife, Tina McCraney Warren of Grovetown; one son, Donald William Warren III of Grovetown; two daughters, Jessica Christine Warren and Amanda Nicole Warren, both of Grovetown; his stepmother and father, Phyllis and Donald Warren Sr. of Grovetown; his mother, Margaret Warren of Eastlake, Ohio; three sisters, Beverly Shelley of Mobile, Michal Stewart of Rock Creek, Ohio, and Melissa Warren of Grovetown; four stepbrothers; two stepsisters; and his grandmother, Marilyn Smith of Eastlake.

Services are set for 7 p.m. Wednesday at West Augusta Baptist Church in Augusta, Ga. Burial will be at a later date. Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road in Martinez, Ga., is handling arrangements.

Hazel Bernice Alday

STATE LINE, Miss. - Hazel Bernice Alday, an Alabama native and resident of State Line, died Monday in an area hospital. She was 65.

A homemaker, Mrs. Alday attended Johnson Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Arnold Lamar Alday of State Line; one daughter, Susie Timothy of State Line; one son, Rusty Turner of Buckatunna, Miss.; seven sisters, Teresa McLaughlin and Lois Ezell, both of State Line, Elizabeth Dennis of Laton Hill, Ala., Rosalee Yarbrough of Saraland, Alberta Dickinson of Citronelle, Linda Albritton of Semmes and Lille Marie Batley of Opp, Ala.; five brothers, Raybon Guy of Sandhill, Miss., Ronnie Guy of Leakesville, Miss., Claude Guy and Will Guy, both of State Line, and Alton Guy of Buckatunna; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Freeman Funeral Home in Leakesville, with services at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Freefield Cemetery in State Line.

Willie C. Knight

HARVEY, Ill. - Willie C. "Pee Willie" Knight, a Mobile native and resident of Harvey for 30 years, died May 16 at the age of 58.

Survivors include his mother, Ella Bell Ball; his sister, Louise East of Montgomery; seven children, Willie Clyde Knight Jr., Tony Knight, Larry Knight, Cornell Knight and Shelbonnie Hall, all of Mobile, Belinda Westbrook of Bloomington, Ill., and Antoine Westbrook of Robbins, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on St. Stephens Road, with Mass of Christian burial celebrated at noon. The rosary will be recited at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Whispering Pines Cemetery, with Azalea Funeral Home directing.

Alma Jones Ellis

Alma Jones Ellis, a Montrose, Miss., native, and a Mobile resident, died Thursday. She was 74.

Mrs. Ellis was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Park Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Major Ellis of Mobile; two daughters, Virgia Ellis Evans and Shirley Ellis-Brown, both of Mobile; four sons, Sylvester Ellis, Jerry Ellis and Gary Ellis, all of Mobile, and Barry Ellis of Macon, Ga.; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Park Missionary Baptist Church. Services will follow at 7 p.m. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Pine Crest Cemetery. Reese Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Irene G. Roberts

Irene G. Roberts, a resident of Mobile, died Saturday at a local hospital. She was 94.

She is survived by a daughter, Marjorie Welch of Theodore; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be today from 1 p.m. until services begin at 2 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Florence G. Robinson

Florence Graham Robinson, a retired school teacher, died Thursday at a local health care facility. She was 88.

Mrs. Robinson taught in the public school system for more than 40 years, including 20 years at Murphy High School where she taught Latin and French. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at Moffett Road Baptist Church. A Mobile resident, she was a native of Prattville.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Emily Snuttjer of Mahwah, N.J., and Carolyn Florence Robinson of Semmes; a son, John Graham Robinson of Semmes; and a grandchild.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Serenity Funeral Home. Services are set for 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
