Oscar W. Pharr
EIGHT MILE - Oscar W. Pharr, a native of Wilcox County, died Saturday at his Eight Mile residence. He was 85.
He is survived by a daughter, Ruby Dell Hallmark of Eight Mile; three sons, Bobby E. Pharr of Saraland and Gerald Wayne Pharr and Oscar Gary Pharr, both of Eight Mile; a sister, Polly Walker of Pace, Fla.; a brother, Bobby Edward Pharr of Mobile; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be this evening from 5 to 8 at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home. Services are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial at Valhalla Memorial Gardens.

Louis M. Richardson
Louis Mickey Richardson, a native of Mobile who resided in Theodore, died Saturday. He was 52.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Marie Richardson; a brother, Timothy Richardson of Theodore; and six sisters, Rose McDonald of Irvington, Roberta Faggard of Sweetwater, Tenn., Rita Baggett and Barbara Pastor of Theodore, Mary Richardson of Smyrna, Ga., and Delores Poole of Semmes.
Visitation will be this evening from 5 to 8 at Serenity Funeral Home. Graveside services are set for noon Tuesday at Serenity Memorial Gardens.

William B. Gunn
William B. Gunn, a resident of Petal, Miss., died Sunday at a Hattiesburg hospital. He was 82.
Gunn, a deacon and member of Crestview Baptist Church, was retired as a heavy equipment operator from Warren Paving Co. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Horn Gunn of Petal; two sons, William W. Gunn and Gerald G. Gunn, both of Petal; a brother, Clyde Gunn of Grand Bay; a sister, Velma Walker of Semmes; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be this evening from 5 to 8 at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home in Hattiesburg. Services are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial at Hillcrest Cemetery in Petal.

Lura B. Mixon
McKENZIE, Ala. - Lura Brantley Mixon, a resident of McKenzie, died Saturday at a Monroeville hospital. She was 80.
Mrs. Mixon is survived by two sons, Brantley Mixon of Excel, Ala., and Joel Mixon of Old Texas, Ala.; three brothers, Clarence C. Brantley of Bay Minette, Elmore Brantley of Forest Home, Ala., and George Brantley of Georgiana, Ala.; a sister, Valeria Brown of Saraland; and three grandchildren.
Services are set for 11 a.m. today at Asbury Methodist Church near McKenzie, with burial at the church cemetery.
Johnson Funeral Home in Georgiana is in charge of arrangements.

Joyce M. Bell
Joyce Michelle Bell, a lifelong Mobilian, died June 1 in Mobile. She was 19.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Ella and Henry Watson; her father, George Niles; a sister, Rose Morris, a brother, Skyler Bell; and grandparents Rose Mary and Golden Bell, and Lucille Miles.
Services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lovett's Funeral Chapel, with burial at Rising Sons Cemetery.

Robert Lee Collins
Robert Lee Collins, a 1967 graduate of Mattie T. Blount High School, died Friday at the family residence. He was 49.
Collins, known affectionately as "Seaweed" to family and friends, was a Prichard native who resided in California for 23 years before returning to Prichard in October 1993. He retired from Northrop Aircraft Corp. of California.
He was a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church of Prichard.
Survivors include a son, Brian Christopher Collins of Gardena, Calif.; a brother, Shadrach Collins Sr. of Prichard; and two sisters, Carolyn Collins Jenkins of Mobile and Linda R. Collins of Lexington, Ky.
Visitation will be Wednesday at Central Missionary Baptist Church, 840 Reynolds Avenue in Prichard, 5 p.m. until services begin at 7 p.m. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Catholic Cemetery.
Reese Funeral Home of Prichard is handling arrangements.

Kent Cooley
Kent Cooley, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II, died Sunday at a local health care facility. He was 80.
The Singer, La., native resided in Chunchula.
Survivors include his daughter, Betty Jo Sumlin of Mobile; a sister, Florence Phillips of Magnolia, Ark.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 1 p.m. today at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street, with burial at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
