Teva J. Pierce
Teva Jordan Pierce, who had served as a volunteer at Providence Hospital, died Sunday at a local hospital.
The longtime Mobile resident, who was a native of Louisiana, was a 1930 graduate of Convent of Mercy High School.
Mrs. Pierce, an avid bridge player, was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Azalea Garden Club.
Survivors include her children, Edwin Patterson Pierce Jr. of Tucson, Ariz., Evalyn Pierce Ellis and Janet Pierce Roberts, both of Mobile, and Jon Page Pierce of St. Louis, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are set for 1 p.m. today at Pine Crest Cemetery, with Radney-Belmany Funeral Home on Grelot Road in charge of arrangements.

William Jeffries Jr.
EVERGREEN - William Wesley Jeffries Jr., a resident of Evergreen, died Tuesday in Montgomery. He was 73.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Miller of Montgomery; a son, Bill Jeffries of Evergreen; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Cope Funeral Home in Evergreen. Graveside services are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson, Ala.

Paul J. Harrington
BIRMINGHAM - Paul Jones Harrington, a native of Marengo County who resided in Birmingham, died Monday at an area medical facility. He was 60.
Harrington had worked as a campus police officer at the University of Alabama Birmingham. He retired in September 1998.
He spent 30 years in the Alabama National Guard, serving in the Alabama towns of Butler, Thomasville and Fairhope. He also served in Operation Desert Storm in the Persian Gulf and during the Berlin Crisis.
Harrington was a past chief of ballot security for the Alabama Republican Party. And he was a member of Roebuck Park Baptist Church in Birmingham.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Harrington of Birmingham; two sons, Michael Paul Harrington of Birmingham and Phillip Carl Harrington of Jasper, Ala.; a daughter, Cindy Marie Harrington of Birmingham; a brother, Willard Henry Harrington of Mobile; and two grandsons.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville. Services are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Aimwell Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery in Sweet Water, Ala.

Sadie Dixon
Sadie Dixon, a member of Greater Macedonia Baptist Church, died Sunday at a local hospital. She was 84.
Mrs. Dixon, who resided in Mobile, was a native of Dixons Mills, Ala. At church, she served in the senior choir and in the mission department.
Survivors include 12 children, Willie Dixon, Addie Dixon, Marie McGrew, Jessie Dixon, Doris Dixon and Thaddeus Dixon, all of Mobile, M.V. Dixon and L.T. Dixon Jr. of Dixons Mills, Pearline Thicklin of Greenville, Ala., Rosa Jowers, Shirley Moore and Barbara Falkner, all of Aurora, Ill; five sisters, Evelyn Prayer, Minnie Wright, Eddie D. Shaw and Woodie Mixon of Mobile, and Ruthana Tensley of Dixons Mills; four brothers, Robert Moore, Alfate Moore and Ernest J. Moore, all of Mobile, and Nathaniel Moore of Los Angeles; 38 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Friday from noon to 5 p.m. at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home. A second viewing will begin Saturday at 9 a.m. at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church, 1350 Chinquapin St., with visitation from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. services begin. Burial will be at Polly Robinson Cemetery in Dixons Mills.

Betty R. Love
Betty Ruth Love, a Mobile homemaker, died Monday at a local hospital.
Mrs. Love, 43, was a native of Mount Vernon, Ala.
She is survived by her daughter, Sabrina Johnson of Mount Vernon.
Services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Church of God Pentecostal in Mount Vernon, with burial at Morning Star Cemetery there.

Dallas A. Pace Sr.
Dallas Addison Pace Sr., an employee of Ingalls Shipbuilding, died Monday at his Mobile residence. He was 56.
Pace, known as "Dickie" and "Tex" to relatives and friends, was an electrician by trade, trained in residential as well as light and heavy industrial work. He was a pipefitter and welder at Ingalls, working on military ships for primary functional operations, marine combat and computer production control.
Born in Bristol, Tenn., a town on the Tennessee-Virginia border, Pace attended Slater High School there and studied electrical engineering at Tennessee State University in Nashville.
Survivors include his wife, Eugenia Ann Pace of Mobile; five children, Tondrea Bouchelion, Sterling Pace, Nickai Dunham, Natosha Pace and Mia Enright; four sisters, Joyce Morton, Mary Gilbert, Betty Rose and Carol Benefee; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Saturday from 9 a.m. until a Mass of Christian burial begins at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Casher Cemetery on Clubhouse Road .

Jefferson L. Moorer
EVERGEEN - Jefferson Lee "Jeff" Moorer, a high school athletics coach, died Tuesday in Pensacola. He was 65.
Moorer, an Evergreen resident, coached in Escambia County, Fla. He had played football at the University of Alabama.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Bruce Moorer of Evergreen; three daughters, Martha Tidman of Pensacola, Vivian Hurd of Navarre, Fla., and Ellen Bruce Moorer of Milton, Fla.; a brother, Ebin Moorer of Evergreen; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Cope Funeral Home in Evergreen with burial at Magnolia Cemetery.
