Minnie Gamble
CATHERINE - Minnie Gamble, a church mother at Sidney Chapel AME Zion Church of Catherine, died Monday. She was 86.
Mrs. Gamble, a homemaker, was a native of Catherine. She was a lifelong member of Order of the Eastern Star Lodge 442, Lillie of the Valley, in Annie Maine, Ala. She also was a member of the Little Welcome Society of Catherine.
Survivors include five sons, Hudson Gamble Jr. and Willie Charles Gamble, both of Cleveland, Henderson Gamble of Jacksonville, Fla., Columbus Gamble of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Benjamin Gamble of Catherine; nine daughters, Mariah G. Kimbrough of Birmingham, Arlean G. Cooney and Aurelia G. Kimbrough, both of San Antonio, Minnie Owens Williams and Dorothy G. Dawkins, both of Prichard, Betty G. Wilson, Bernice G. Hayes and Gloria J. Gamble, all of Cleveland, and Geneva G. McQuirter of Mobile; three brothers, Charlie Kelly Jr. of Mobile, George Kelly of Cleveland and Mansley Kelly of New York; five sisters, Florence Kelly Smith of Pensacola, Gracie Kelly, Martha J. Kelly and Mary E. Kelly, all of Detroit, and Rebecca Kelly of Catherine; 57 grandchildren; 87 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
The wake will be Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Gilmer's Funeral Service on Zeigler Boulevard in Mobile. Services are set for noon Saturday at Sidney Chapel AME Zion Church in Catherine, with burial at Bethel Cemetery.

Harvey Godwin
CLEVELAND - Harvey Godwin, owner of a wrecker service, died Friday in Cleveland.
Godwin, 75, was a native of Oak Grove, Fla.
He is survived by two sons, Dennis Godwin and Rickey Godwin, both of Cleveland; a sister, Mazie Godwin of Davisville, Fla; and two grandchildren.
Services took place Wednesday at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore, with burial at Bowman Cemetery in Wawbeek, Ala.

Dollie L. Parker
BELFOREST - Dollie L. Parker, a native of Covington County and a resident of Belforest, died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, in DeFuniak Springs, Fla. She was 85 years old.
She is survived by three daughters, Betty Dixon of Belforest, Sandra Bennett of Loxley and Jackie Majors of Detroit; two sons, George C. Parker of Defuniak Springs, Fla., and Guy Parker of Fairhope; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday in the chapel of Bayview Funeral Home. Burial took place in Belforest Community Cemetery.
Bayview Funeral Home Daphne/Spanish Fort was in charge of arrangements.

Nellie T. James
Nellie T. James, a Theodore homemaker and resident, died Monday at her home. She was 67.
The Winchester, Miss., native was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd R. James of Theodore; three sons, Tommy Jordan of Gulf Shores, David Tatum of Raymond, Miss., and Randall Stevenson of Theodore; four daughters, Linda T. Bryant of Mobile, Melanie Williams of Theodore, Carissa Lundy of Little Rock, Ark., and Cherlyn Stevenson of Louisiana; two brothers, A.C. Gilbert Jr. of Winchester and C.A. Gilbert of Theodore; five sisters, Helen Leverett, Vivian Johnson, Vera Gilbert, Margaret Gilbert and Wilda F. Gilbert, all of Mobile; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Miss., with burial in Winchester Cemetery.

Mary Kearley
CODEN - Mary Cora Ladnier Kearley, who had been involved in the seafood industry in Coden for many years, died Tuesday at a local health care facility. She was 92.
Mrs. Kearley, a Dauphin Island native, was a longtime Coden resident.
Survivors include two daughters, Theresa Johnson of Coden, and Juna Rose Kunkle of Charlevoix, Mich.; five sons, James Kearley of Hattiesburg, Miss., Forrest Kearley and Alfred Kearley, both of Irvington, Leo Kearley of Theodore, and Calvin Kearley of Spring, Texas; 30 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at Church of God of Prophecy in Bayou La Batre, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Oddfellow Cemetery. Arrangements are by Serenity Funeral Home.

Wylodine Langley
Wylodine W. "Dean" Langley, a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, died Tuesday at a local health care facility. She was 68.
Mrs. Langley was a native of Gordo, Ala., and a Saraland resident.
Survivors include her husband, Donald E. Langley of Saraland; one son, Donald E. Langley Jr. of Panama City, Fla.; two sisters, Blanche Price and Evaleta Davis, both of Chickasaw; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are set for 10 a.m. today in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Radney Funeral Home in Saraland.

Willie E. Stacey Jr.
CITRONELLE - Willie Ettard Stacey Jr., who had worked as a shipfitter, died Monday at a local hospital. He was 71.
Stacey was a native of Jackson, Ala., and a Citronelle resident.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his mother, Annie Mae Dearmon of Deer Park, Ala.; two sons, Ed Stacey of Citronelle and Mickey Stacey of Axis, Ala.; a daughter, Judy McGowan of Mobile; two brothers, W.C. "Bud" Dearmon of Georgiana, Ala., and D.C. Dearmon of Deer Park; three sisters, Beatrice Tate of Bay Minette, Dean Sparks of Mobile and Jerrie Tello of Houston; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Freeman Funeral Home in Citronelle. Graveside services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday in Shady Grove Cemetery in Millry, Ala.
