Sam Calderone
CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. - Sam Calderone, a lifelong Chicago Heights resident, died Saturday at a local hospital after a brief illness. He was 73.
Calderone retired from the Ford Motor Stamping Plant in Chicago Heights in 1985 after 40 years. He was a member of the United Auto Workers.
He received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy after serving during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary N. Calderone of Chicago Heights; a daughter, Jolene Popp of New Lenox, Ill.; a son, Bruce Anthony Calderone of Saraland; two sisters, Jennie Venturella of Lima, Ohio, and Lena Calderone of Chicago Heights; two brothers, Nick Calderone and Frank Calderone, both of Chicago Heights; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. today at Panozzo Brothers Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St. in Chicago Heights, followed by services at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery in Glenwood, Ill.

Peter A. Stadther
BATON ROUGE, La. - Peter A. Stadther, a native Mobilian, died Sunday. He was 90.
Stadther, a resident of Baton Rouge, was a retired home and commercial electrician.
Survivors include his daughter, Garland S. Dix of Greenwell Springs, La.; a brother, Thomas Stadther of Mobile; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 Friday at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street, where services are set for 10 a.m. Saturday.Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.

James Fuller
James Fuller, a retired construction worker, died Thursday at a local hospital. He was 78.
Fuller, a native and resident of Mobile, was a member of Stone Street Baptist Church. He served in the Baptist training union.
He is survived by a cousin, Dora E. Davis of Prichard.
Arrangements will be announced by Johnson-Allen Mortuary.

Willie Hayes
Willie Hayes, who had worked for many years as a truck driver with Camel 66, died Saturday at the age of 73.
Hayes was a native of Jackson, Miss., and a resident of Mobile.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys O'Neal Hayes of Mobile.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mary Grove Baptist Church in Mendenhall, Miss., followed by services at noon. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Arrangements are by Memorial Funeral Home in Prichard.

Cordelia H. Pritchard
Cordelia H. Pritchard, a retiree of Interstate 2 Printing Co., died Thursday at a local hospital. She was 88.
Mrs. Pritchard, an Oklahoma native, was a longtime Mobile resident. She had worked as a binder with the printing company.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, and was a volunteer in the church's Braille services department.
Survivors include three children, Charles W. Pritchard, Frank Pritchard and Bertha Jeanette Pritchard, all of Mobile; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are set for 10 a.m. Saturday in Pine Crest Cemetery, with Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street directing.
Memorials may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church Braille Fund, 1356 Government St., Mobile, AL 36604.

Mary R. Drees
DALLAS - Mary Roach Drees, a former longtime Mobile resident, died Wednesday in Dallas at the age of 83.
Mrs. Drees had lived in Dallas since 1985.
Survivors include two sons, Brian Drees of Littleton, Colo., and Barry Drees of Dallas; a daughter, Marilyn Drees of New Haven, Conn.; two brothers, Kiernan Roach of Roundup, Mont., and the Rev. Daniel Roach of Naga City, Philippines; and two grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ the King Catholic Church in Dallas. Burial will be in Sparkman Hillcrest Cemetery in Dallas, with Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home in charge.
Memorials may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association; the American Heart Association; or a favorite charity.

Berry A. Robinson
BOONEVILLE, Ark. - Berry Atlas Robinson, a resident of Booneville, and former resident of the Pleasant Hill community near Butler, Ala., died Tuesday at his home. He was 80.
Robinson, a retired engineer with the U.S. Army, was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son, Gregory Berry Robinson; a daughter, Barbara Joan Robinson; and two sisters, Fronnie R. Lolley of Gilbertown, Ala., and Eula Mae Lolley of Jackson, Ala.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. today at Bumpers Funeral Home in Butler. Graveside services with full military honors are set for 11 a.m. today in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
