Thomas L. Barnett
Thomas Lee Barnett, a retiree of Barnett Mill Works, died Thursday at a local hospital. He was 81.
Barnett was a lifelong resident of Mobile and a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Blanche K. Barnett of Mobile; six children, Thomas H. Barnett of Florida, Frank M. Barnett, Jeffery L. Barnett and Elizabeth A. Abercrombie, all of Mobile, Ruth L. Warden of Grand Bay and Connie A. Mirabito of Birmingham; a brother, Charles E. Barnett of Mobile; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today at Radney Funeral Home, with graveside services set for 2 p.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Olan E. Phillips Sr.
Olan Edwin Phillips Sr., a retiree of the International Longshoreman's Union, died Friday after battling cancer for several months. He was 84.
Phillips, a native of Coffee County, had lived in the Mobile area since 1940.
He had also retired from sales with local bakeries and more recently had worked at the Alabama State Docks.
He was an active member of Whistler United Methodist Church for the past 46 years, serving as a trustee for 40 years. He also served as chairman of the administrative council, a Sunday school teacher, choir member and president of the Men's Club.
He was honored with a lifetime membership certificate to Bowen Masonic Lodge No. 240 in Whistler.
Phillips enjoyed gardening until his illness prevented it.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Emily Lanelle Phillips; and five children, O. Edwin Phillips Jr. and Jeanie Phillips Hill, both of Mobile, J. Leo Phillips of Vicksburg, Miss., and Brenda Rains and Sharon Brunner, both of north Alabama.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. A service of praise and thanksgiving will be celebrated at Whistler United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the Mobile Inner City Mission.

James D. Hansen
ACWORTH, Ga. - James Daniel Hansen, a Mobile native and Acworth resident, died Friday. He was 52.
Hansen, a 13-year resident of Cobb County, was employed as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the state of Georgia and was an active member of New Beginnings United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the MG Sports Car Club.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Kay Hansen of Acworth; one daughter, Ashlee Danielle Sikorski of Dallas, Ga.; three sisters, Carolyn Newburn of Citronelle, and Suzanne Burnette and Robin Gray, both of Mobile; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, Ga. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Memorial Park.

Robert D. Thomaston
Robert Dwayne Thomaston, a Mobile resident and Theodore native, died Sunday at a local hospital. He was 31.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Harvill Thomaston; two children, Taylor P. Thomaston and Madelyn E. Thomaston, all of Theodore; his parents, Virgil and Maryann Younce; two brothers, William Thomaston Jr. of Las Vegas and Paul G. Younce of Theodore; six sisters, Beverly A. Younce of Theodore, Judy Wilson of Pensacola, Jean Wilson of Montgomery, Connie Courtney of Memphis, Tenn., and Diane Foster and Janice Foster, both of Wilmer.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, with services at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Delores L. Ware
STATELINE, Miss. - Delores Lankford Ware died Sunday at an area hospital. She was 74.
The Stateline resident and native was a retired bank teller and homemaker. She was a member of Johnson Creek Baptist Church, where she was pianist and a Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by a son, Danny Ware of Jackson, Miss.; a daughter, Suzanne Powe of Hattiesburg, Miss.; one brother; two sisters; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Miss. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson Creek Baptist Church in Stateline, with burial in the church cemetery.

Nell Ree Jeffus
Nell Ree Wilson Jeffus, a resident of Eight Mile, died Tuesday at a local nursing facility. She was 80.
Survivors include her husband, George Jeffus of Eight Mile; a daughter, Annie Pearl Smith, and a son, Kennith G. Jeffus, both of Mobile; a brother, John Wilson of Atmore, Ala.; a sister, Wilner Johnston of Evergreen, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Cope Funeral Home in Evergreen, with burial at Long Branch Cemetery.
