Mary L. Nolfe
Mary L. Nolfe, a Mobile homemaker and a longtime resident of the Port City, died Monday at her home. She was 78.
Mrs. Nolfe was a native of Fort Benning, Ga.
She is survived by two brothers-in-law, Eugene Nolfe and Vincent Nolfe, both of Mobile.
Graveside services are set for 3 p.m. today at Pine Crest Cemetery, with Radney-Belmany Funeral Home directing.
Memorials may be made to the Airport Boulevard Baptist Church Building Fund or to the Alabama Baptist Children's Home.

Michael A. Pettis
Michael Andrew Pettis, a lifelong resident of Irvington, died Sunday after a lengthy illness. He was 29.
Survivors include his father, Cecil E. Pettis of Grand Bay; his mother and his stepfather, Glenda and Billy Barnes of Theodore; two brothers, William Otis Bostick Sr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lance Cpl. Cecil E. "C.J." Pettis Jr. of Iwakuni, Japan; a sister, Heather Renee Pettis of Theodore; maternal grandmother Pearl Dunn of Irvington; and paternal grandfather Claude M. Pettis of Waynesboro, Miss.
Services took place Tuesday at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Dave Kyser
Dave Kyser, who retired from Alcoa Aluminum Co. after more than 25 years, died Tuesday at his home.
Kyser, a native of Uriah, Ala., was a longtime Prichard resident. He was a member of El Bethel Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Mamie McQueen; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m. Friday at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home. Viewing will also be after 9 a.m. Saturday at El Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. services.

Julius L. Degive III
Julius L. DeGive III, a former resident of Hoschton, Ga., who was living in Mobile, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999. He was 63.
He is survived by two sons, Julius Louis DeGive IV of Talapoosa, Ga., and James Lee DeGive of Stockbridge, Ga.; two daughters, Kimberly Dawn Rexhauser of Hoschton, Ga., and Rebecca Ann DeGive of Talapoosa, Ga.; two brothers, Dennis Westmoreland DeGive and Dudley Brian DeGive, both of Atlanta, and three grandchildren.
A memorial service for DeGive will be held at 4 p.m. today at Fairhope Funeral Home. Cremation arrangements are by Fairhope Funeral Home & Crematory Inc.

Ora C. Phillips
Ora Charlene Phillips, a native of Dry Creek, Miss., and resident of Chickasaw, died Tuesday at a local hospital. She was 75.
Mrs. Phillips is survived by one son, Gerald Thomas Phillips of Birmingham; two daughters, Lillie Kay Phillips of Birmingham and Carol Monk of Mobile; two brothers, Hershell Murley and Perry Murley Jr., both of Zion, Ill.; one sister, Irene Hutchison of Holley Springs, Miss.; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Kathleen Barrington
CULLMAN, Ala. - Kathleen M. Barrington, a native of Mobile and resident of Cullman, died Sunday at her residence. She was 38.
Survivors include five sisters, Elizabeth Marenghi of Los Angeles, Cheryl White of Wyoming, Mich., Linda Wooden of Pierson, Mich., Yolanda Hyndman of Bowdon, Ga., and Regina Tallman of Mobile; and five brothers, Michael Barrington of Jackson, Ga., Tony Barrington of Sarasota, Fla., and Stephen Barrington, Scott Barrington and Joey Barrington, all of Chickasaw.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, with graveside services at 1 p.m. Friday in Catholic Cemetery.

Lester R. Pippen
OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. - Lester R. "Pip" Pippen, a former tugboat deckman, died Wednesday at his residence. He was 56.
Pippen is survived by his daughter, Dell Olene Wallen of Ocean Springs; his mother, Lois Pippen Levins of Satsuma; three brothers, Timothy A. Levins of Chunchula, and William Gaylon Levins and Lloyd Leslie Levins, both of Satsuma; one sister, Mary Lee Kilpatrick of Saraland; and two grandsons.
Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. in Satsuma Cemetery.

JoAnn Slovak
ENNIS, Texas - JoAnn Slovak, a native Mobilian and resident of Ennis, died Sunday at the age of 41.
Mrs. Slovak was a receptionist with the Dallas Morning News for more than 15 years.
Survivors include her husband, Joe David Slovak of Ennis; her father, Willie James Foster of Pace, Fla.; her mother, Marjorie Daugherty of Ennis; two stepdaughters, Lisa Renae Slovak of Mansfield, Texas, and Krissie Marie Hoselton of Azle, Texas; three brothers, Guy Foster and Richard D. Foster, both of Mobile, and Willie J. Foster Jr. of Ennis; a stepbrother, Matthew Foster of Pace; a half-sister, Crystal Cota of Milton, Fla.; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be at noon today at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, with graveside services set for 2 p.m. in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
