Marie V. Dixon
Marie V. Dixon, a former board member of the U.J. Robinson Adult Center, died Thursday at a Chicago hospital at the age of 93.
Mrs. Dixon, 93, resided in Mobile. A native of Whatley, Ala., she had attended Clarke County schools and graduated from Thomasville Normal and Industrial High School.
After moving to Mobile she joined Franklin Street Missionary Baptist Church and participated in many areas of church work. She was a member of Women Bible Class No. 11 and the senior choir. She served as general president of the senior Missionary Department for more than 30 years before becoming president emeritus.
She was a former first vice president of the Mobile Sunlight District Women's Convention.
Among her many affiliations, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Eleanor Chapter No. 62, where she was a worthy matron for a number of years. In 1973, the Marie V. Dixon Chapter No. 875 Order of the Eastern Star was organized and named in her honor.
Among her survivors are a brother, Clifton Ruggs Sr. of Fort Myers, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Franklin Street Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. services begin. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Seaborn Johnson Jr.
Seaborn Macey Johnson Jr., who retired as a counselor with the state of Alabama's Vocation Rehabilitation Department, died Monday. He was 63.
Johnson, a native and longtime resident of Mobile, had worked as an instructor at Hearin-Chandler YMCA and for many years had been involved with the Mobile recreation department's softball program.
He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, where he was active as a lay Eucharistic minister and a lay reader.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Cowles Johnson of Mobile; a son, Seaborn Macey Johnson III of Germantown, Tenn.; a daughter, Laura Hall Johnson of Mobile; his mother, Jesslyn Talley Johnson of Mobile; a sister, E. Leland "Lynn" Kitts of Hendersonville, N.C.; and three grandsons.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Christ Episcopal Church, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. in the church's Chapter Hall. Burial will be at Pine Crest Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Christ Episcopal Church or to a favorite charity.
Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street is in charge of arrangements.

Theophlius Montgomery
Theophlius Montgomery, a former mechanic with Brunson Construction Co., died Sunday at a local hospital.
Montgomery, 75, was a lifelong Mobilian.
Survivors include two sons, four sisters and a brother.
Visitation will be at Lovett's Funeral Chapel on Friday from 5 p.m. until the 6 p.m. services begin.

Easter Morgan
Easter Estelle Houseman Morgan, a Mobile homemaker, died Saturday at a local hospital She was 84.
Mrs. Morgan, who enjoyed cooking, was a native of Coffee Springs, Ala., but spent most of her life in the Mobile and Prichard areas.
Survivors include eight children, James Paul "J.P." Morgan, Christine Lee Ott, Charles Raymond "Ray" Morgan, Howard Lamont Morgan, Kenneth Wayne Morgan, Juanita Estelle Morgan Seibert, Richard Steven Morgan and Bruce Eugene Morgan; 28 grandchildren; more than 50 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services took place Tuesday at Pine Crest Cemetery.

Leroy Williams
Leroy "Pie" Williams, an L&N; Railroad retiree, died Thursday at a local hospital. He was 93.
Williams, a native of Coffeeville, Ala., resided in Prichard. He was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and a member of the men's chorus.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth L. Williams of Prichard; a daughter, Agnes L. McMillan of Mobile; a stepson, Kimmie Lee Daniels of Los Angeles; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Thursday from noon to 5 p.m. at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home. A second viewing will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 131 July Avenue, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. services begin. Burial will be at Whispering Pines Cemetery.

Mary Clark
OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. - Mary Anne Lightsey Clark, a homemaker and a lifelong resident of the Ocean Springs area, died Monday in Biloxi. She was 79.
Mrs. Clark, a graduate of Biloxi High School, earned her associate's degree in home economics from Perkinston Junior College. Her many civic involvements included the Gulf Coast Genealogical Society, local and state PTA, Boy and Girl Scouts and the Postal Workers Auxiliary. She was a member of the Missionary Rose Petal Society of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
She was an avid bridge player, gardener and historian.
Survivors include a daughter, Anne Oberlies of Gulfport; two sons, Dr. Alvah E. Clark Jr. of Mobile and Ted Clark of Ocean Springs; a sister, Elizabeth L. Perry of Hattiesburg, Miss.; a brother, Capt. Thomas "Buddy" Nolan Lightsey Jr. of Houston; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be Thursday night from 6 to 8 at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home's Ocean Springs Chapel. Services are set for 11 a.m. Friday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Biloxi City Cemetery.
