Roy Leo Pate Jr.
OKLAHOMA CITY - Roy Leo Pate Jr., a Mobile native and an Oklahoma City resident, died Thursday in Oklahoma City. He was 53.
He is survived by two sons, Timothy Paul Pate of Mobile and Roy Leo Pate III of Florida; four daughters, Holly Franklin of Minnesota, Shannon A. Dennis, Kelly N. Britton and Tiffany J. Pate, all of Florida; his mother Martha Ellen Pate of Mobile; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service is set for 5 p.m. today at Woodmont Baptist Church.

David W. Phillips
David Wayne Phillips, a native of Sylacauga, Ala., and resident of Creola, died Sunday at the family residence. He was 45.
Survivors include his wife, Victoria Phillips; four children, Brandy Jackson and Emily Keith, both of Creola, Kevin Keith of Saraland and Chris Keith of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Theresa Blackburn of Center Point, Ala., and Alice Nash of Lake City, Fla.; a brother, Gary Phillips of Pelham, Ala.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, with services at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Creola Cemetery.

John F. Hempfleng Sr
John Frederick Hempfleng Sr., who for the past 10 years was employed by NYCO as a building monitor at AmSouth Center Office Building, died Friday at a local hospital. He was 74.
Hempfleng, a native of Mobile and Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he retired as chief of police at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, before returning to Mobile.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Lucille Gray Hempfleng; seven children, Frances McCue of San Antonio, Carol Graddy, Lewis Hempfleng and Robert Hempfleng, all of Mobile, John F. Hempfleng Jr. of Theodore, Gerald Wayne "Jerry" Hempfleng of Lavernia, Texas, and Patsy Ann Bowen of Florsville, Texas; eight siblings, Edgar "Juney" Hempfleng of Evergreen, Ala., Bobby Hempfleng of Summerdale, Charles Hempfleng of Mobile, C.C. Hempfleng, Virginia Wiley and Linda Hoss, all of Mobile, and Jimmy Hempfleng and Sara Sigouin, both of Atlanta; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Serenity Funeral Home, with services at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens.

Thomas C. Humphrey Jr.
Thomas Clyde Humphrey Jr., a retired insurance agent with American Life Insurance Co., died at his home on Monday. He was 59.
Humphrey was a native of Mason, Ohio, and resident of Mobile. A veteran, he was a member of Azalea Hills Christian Church on Cottage Hill and McFarland Road.
Survivors include his wife, Dillene Humphrey of Mobile; a son, Thomas Clyde Humphrey III; two daughters, Tammy Lynn Humphrey and Kimberly Jayne Humphrey of Birmingham; and two sisters, Lynn Jones of Cincinnati and Ramona Hughes of Panama City, Fla.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Azalea Hills Christian Church, with services at noon. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Rosehill Mason Cemetery in Mason, Ohio. Gilmer's Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Calvin Thompson
ATLANTA - Calvin Thompson, a native Mobilian and resident of Atlanta, died Wednesday in a Mobile hospital after an illness. He was 58.
Thompson's craftsmanship was reflected in many homes in the Whistler community.
Survivors include a son, Sean Thompson; a daughter, Kelly Thompson; two brothers, Arthur Thompson Jr. and Rudolph Thompson; and two sisters, Ethel Dorsey and Tiney Spraggins.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lovett's Funeral Chapel in Mobile, with services at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Whistler Cemetery.

Adrien F. Blanchet
PAWTUCKET, R.I. - Adrien F. Blanchet, a resident of Pawtucket and formerly of Mobile, died Sunday in Pawtucket at the age of 71.
The Korean War veteran was a member of the Elks Lodge, where he had served as a past exalted ruler. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and a past grand knight.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of East Providence, R.I.
Survivors include his wife, Claire Blanchet; three sons, Norman Blanchet, Raymond Blanchet and Larry Blanchet; and two daughters, Patricia Blanchet and Suzanne Blanchet, all of Pawtucket; four brothers, the Rev. Leo J. Blanchet, M.S., pastor of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Whistler, Brother Normand Blanchet, M.S., of Whistler, Eugene B. Blanchet Jr. of Mobile and Joseph F. Blanchet of Pawtucket; four sisters, Sister Louise Blanchet, P.O.O.F., and Sister Florida Blanchet, P.O.O.F., Beatrice Pelletier and Marguerite Ballow, all of Pawtucket.
Arrangements will be announced by Gilmer's Funeral Service on Zeigler Boulevard.

Erah Anderson
Erah Anderson, a retired dietitian, died Tuesday at Little Sisters of the Poor. She was 88.
Mrs. Anderson, a native of Enterprise, Miss., was a resident of Mobile for the past 17 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Smith of Mobile; and a son, Rick Anderson of Mobile; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Enterprise Baptist Church in Mississippi, with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Enterprise Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Webb Funeral Home of Meridian, Miss.
