A native of Newbern (Hale County), AL and a longtime resident of Mobile, AL departed this life on Friday, November 19, 1999 at a local hospital. He is survived by a devoted wife, Mrs. Ethel Owens Jackson; one son, John Edward (Carrie Mae) Owens, Faunsdale, AL; six daughters, Bernice Jackson, Detroit, MI, Mariah Sanders, Carrie (Roy) Miller, Laura (Elzra) Thomas, Sonia M. Jackson, Mobile, AL, JoAnn (Darryl) Andrews of Atlanta, GA; three sisters-in-law, Cora Jackson, Birmingham, AL, Gertha Mae Campbell and Margaret Threets of Faunsdale, AL; 16 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A native of Hazelhurst, MS and a resident of Theodore, AL died Thursday, November 25, 1999 at a local health care facility. A previous member of First Baptist Church of Tillman's Corner and a current member of Sage Avenue Baptist Church. She is survived by her two daughters, Charlene Mason Silver and Paula D. (Robert) Cabirac; one son, Phillip R. (Gina) Mason; two sisters, Margaret (Jack) Metz and Freddie Lyn (David) Burnham; seven grandchildren, Steven W. (Alisha) Parker, Kimberly C. Ringsdorf, Megan E. Cabirac, Mason A. Cabirac, Mallory A. Mason, Jennie R. (Chris) White and Phillip C. Mason; two great-grandchildren, Braxton W. Parker and Madison T. Walker; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She is survived by one son, John Sonny Browder; two granddaughters, Latonya Reed of Mobile, AL and Tawanda A. Browder of West Palm Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Maya Taylor of Mobile, Alabama, Patrick, Patrona and Patron Browder of West Palm Beach, FL; three aunts, three uncles, a devoted cousin, Rita McKnight; two godchildren, Patrick Munnerlyn and Venassa Williams; devoted friends, Helen Bailey, Gladys O'Cain and lifelong friend, Rev.
