Born December 13, 1923 departed this life on Wednesday, November 24, 1999.
A native and lifelong resident of Mobile.
She leaves to mourn, a devoted, loving, dedicated and caring husband, Walter Thomas; one son, Walter J. Thomas of Virginia Beach, VA; five daughters, Geneva (Earl) Pinnock, Oklahoma City, OK, Zepherine (Cluis) Young, Mobile, AL, Janice Thomas, Harrison Township, MI, Danita (John) Hendrix, Mobile, AL and Irene (Raymond) Henry, Angie, LA; a devoted sister, Lillian (Joe) Lee, Mobile, AL; one devoted brother, Raymond Pringle, Detroit, MI; 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, two devoted friends, Eloise Jackson and Ann Benjamin.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 2, 1999 at Hodges Chapel from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral hour with Rev. Earl Pinnock officiating.
Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.

Ret. Lt. Donald M. Warren
A native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL died in a local hospital on Monday, November 29, 1999.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 1, 1999 at 2:00 P.M. from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Orlando d'Fonseca
BELLE FONTAINE - Orlando d'Fonseca, who retired from the banana industry in South America, died Wednesday at a local hospital. He was 90.
A native of Suriname in South America, d'Fonseca was a resident of Belle Fontaine.
He had been a member of a masonic lodge in his hometown of Paramaribo, Suriname. He had also been a member of the Dutch Reformed Church of Suriname.
Survivors include his wife, Guillamine Jeanne d'Fonseca of Belle Fontaine; four sons, Daniel Alexander d'Fonseca and Gerard Eugene d'Fonseca, both of Hammond, La., Bruce Adrian d'Fonseca of Metairie, La., and Paul Brian d'Fonseca of Albany, La.; three daughters, Laska Jean Tacke and Cynthia Spring, both of Hammond, and Qwendolyn Shell of Mobile; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday at Gilmer's Funeral Service on Zeigler Boulevard.

Nora S. Fantroy
Nora Sullivan Fantroy, a homemaker, died Thursday at the age of 90.
Mrs. Fantroy was a native of Mount Vernon, Ala., and a longtime resident of Mobile.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice M. DuBose of Mobile; two brothers, Austin Sullivan of Chicago and Henry Sullivan of Prichard; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Home in Prichard. Services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Temple AOH Church of God, 2257 St. Stephens Road, with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Hickmon F. Gatwood
Hickmon Franklin Gatwood, retired owner of a radio and television repair shop in St. Elmo, died Tuesday at a local hospital. He was 78.
Gatwood, a native of Mississippi, was a resident of Eight Mile.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Gatwood of Eight Mile; a son, Murray Watson of Eight Mile; and a daughter, Sherry Watson of Eight Mile; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Oddfellow Hall in Bayou La Batre, where services are set for 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Oddfellow Cemetery. Arrangements are by Gilmer's Funeral Service on Zeigler Boulevard.

Cleo B. Hughes
Cleo B. Hughes, a homemaker and member of Yorktown Baptist Church of Plateau, died Tuesday in Winston-Salem, N.C. She was 78.
Mrs. Hughes was a native and resident of Plateau. Her affiliations included the Order of the Eastern Star, the Heroines of Jericho, the Women's Federated Club and the Plateau Senior Citizen's Club.
At church, she served as a deaconess, a nurse's aid and a member of the missionary society and the Pastor's Aid Board.
Survivors include three daughters, Gwendolyn Rocker of Winston-Salem, and Patsy Dees and Angela Hughes, both of Mobile; and two sons, Alfred Hughes of Detroit and Larry Hughes of Winston-Salem.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Yorktown Baptist Church in Plateau, followed by services at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Plateau Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Reese Funeral Home of Prichard.

Miles W. Maloney Jr.
Miles Winton Maloney Jr., a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, died Tuesday at a local hospital.
Maloney, a native of Florence, S.C., and a resident of Theodore, was a member of VFW Post No. 4328.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia V. Maloney of Theodore; two daughters Sylvia Anne Maloney White of Mobile and Bonnie Sue Maloney of Atlanta; one brother, John W. O'Donnell of Selma, N.C.; two sisters, Joanne Hubbard of Orlando and Mary Whitehurst of Rocky Mount, N.C.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. Graveside services and burial will be 1 p.m. Friday in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
