Michael D. Overbey
Michael David Overbey, a 1972 graduate of McGill Institute, died Wednesday morning at a local hospital after a brief illness. He was 46.
Overbey, a lifelong resident of Mobile, had attended the University of South Alabama.
He most recently worked at an area bookstore.
Overby had attended Little Flower Catholic Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was involved in many Mardi Gras activities as well as numerous civic and volunteer activities.
He succumbed to a severe strain of pneumonia, according to his brother, Ed Overbey Jr. of Nashville, Tenn.
In addition to his brother, he is survived by his parents, Joyce and Ed Overbey Sr.; another brother, Christopher Eric Overbey; and a sister, Lynn Bailey, all of Mobile.
The family is planning services on Friday. Arrangements are being handled by Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street.

Javian Watts
Javian Watts, a native of Mississippi and resident of Mobile County, died Sunday at the age of 1 month.
Survivors include his parents, Nikai Watts and Neal Jordan, both of Mobile County; and his grandfather, the Rev. Nathaniel Davis of Pascagoula.
Arrangements will be announced by Gilmer's Funeral Service on Zeigler Boulevard.

Nathaniel McCrear Jr.
BIRMINGHAM - Nathaniel McCrear Jr., a native of Orrville, Ala., and formerly of Mobile, died Friday at the age of 59.
McCrear was a resident of Birmingham, where he was employed by IMS Painting Co.
He was 1959 graduate of Central High School in Mobile.
He was a member of Rising Star Primitive Baptist Church in Orrville.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce McCrear and Gary McCrear; five sisters, Annie Pettway, Shirley Moore, Deloris McCreary, Paulette McCreary and Amy Beckham; six brothers, Willie McCrear, Robert McCreary, Cornelius McCrear, Talmadge McCrear, the Rev. Stanley Taplin Jr., and Joe Nathan Beckham; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Brighton Funeral Home in Woodlawn. Viewing will be at noon Saturday at Rising Star Primitive Baptist Church in Orrville, followed by services at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Juanita Lee "Kitty" Atchison
A native and lifelong resident of Mobile County, AL died Sunday, November 28, 1999 at a local hospital. She was preceded in death by her mother, Naomi H. Lee and her beloved husband, Mark E. Atchison, Sr. She is survived by two daughters, Deborah (John) Chance of Theodore, AL and Lisa M. Ryan of Irvington, AL; one son, Mark E. Atchison, Jr. of Irvington, AL; her father, Johnnie E. Lee of Mobile, one sister, Ruth (James) Jones of Mobile, AL; one brother, Thomas (Joyce) Lee of Dauphin Island, AL; three grandchildren, Angie (Kevin) Adams of Grand Bay, AL, John (Jamie) Chance, Jr. of Theodore, AL and Alicia Ryan of Irvington, AL; her close friend and companion, Shelton Wilkins; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 1, 1999 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Robert Sollie. Pallbearers were Kevin Adams, Dr. Justin Foster, Daron Johnson, Terry Culver, Tony Wilkins and Chuck Wilkins. Honorary pallbearers were Thomas E. Lee, Jr., Johnnie H. Jones, and Junior Tillman. Mrs. Williemena Clark
A native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL born, April 11, 1923 departed this life on November 28, 1999 at her residence. She is survived by two children, Jennifer (Sylvester) Lindsey and Kirk (Lenora) Burke all of Mobile, AL; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, other relatives and friends, devoted friends, Mamie Lou Young, Myrtis Grayson, Elsie Biddy and the Moore family. Her remains will lie in state at Chris tian Benevolent Funeral Home, Friday, December 3, 1999 from 12 noon until 5 p.m. Visitation will be Saturday, December 4, 1999 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2034 St. Stephens Rd from 10:30 a.m. during which time the Rosary will be recited. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon with Rev. Robert Zuwacki, S.S.J., celebrant. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery. Funeral services were held in the chapel of Mobile Memorial Garden funeral Home on Wednesday, December 1, 1999 at 12 noon. Officiating was Rev. Everett Denton and Rev. Don Lee. Capt. Robert J. Erdman
A native of Mobile, AL and a resident of Theodore, died Monday, November 29, 1999 in a local hospital. Mr. Erdman was a retired Captain with the Mobile Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Elmina Erdman; one son, Malcolm (Jean) Graham, San Antonio, TX; two grandsons, Malcolm Graham, Jr., Austin, TX and Ken (Sandra) Graham, San Antonio, TX; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
