Julia M. Thompson
Julia Martin Thompson, a member of Bearfork Assembly Church, died Monday at a local nursing facility. She was 86.
Mrs. Thompson, an Alabama native, was a longtime resident of Chickasaw.
Survivors include three sons, the Rev. Ray E. Thompson of Saraland, Harold F. Thompson of Spanish Fort and Jerry Ray Thompson of Doyline, La.; two daughters, Marie Thompson Rucker of Spanish Fort and Geraldine Thompson Waller of Eight Mile; two brothers, Harry Martin of Hartford, Ala., and Horace Martin of Andalusia; one sister, Anne Bell Jackson of Castleberry, Ala.; 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. today at Bearfork Assembly Church, 1839 Bear Fork Road, with services following. Burial will be in the Mark D. Therell Annex of Whistler Cemetery. Serenity Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Alida Reeves Best
Alida Reeves Best, a homemaker and operator of Elberthorn Farm, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Mrs. Best, 84, was a native and resident of Citronelle, where she attended Citronelle United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Alice Herring and Paula Shoultz, both of Citronelle; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Citronelle United Methodist Church with burial in Pine Crest Cemetery in Citronelle.

Mary Inez Crosby
Mary Inez Crosby, a native of Cleveland County, Ark., and longtime resident of Mobile, died Tuesday at her home. She was 77.
Survivors include two children, John Crosby and James Crosby of Mobile; two sisters, Arralee Reep of Missouri and Jean Williams of Mobile; and three brothers, Graham Morrison and Frank Morrison of Arkansas, and Joe Morrison of Mobile.
Visitation will be at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street today from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Graveside services are set for 2 p.m. today in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Mary Margaret Kirby
Mary Margaret Kirby, a homemaker, died Monday at a local hospital.
Mrs. Kirby, 64, was a native and resident of Mobile.
Survivors include her husband, Clifton Lyle Kirby of Mobile; six children, Margie Ezell of Wilmer, Elizabeth Taylor, John Kirby and Clifton Leonard Kirby, all of Mobile, Gary Kirby of Bessemer, Ala., and Carol Harrison of Eight Mile; her siblings, George A. Crooker and Jeanette Evans, both of Chatom, Ala., and Evelyn McArthur of Mobile; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Philip Harrington Allen
April 19, 1949 - November 14, 1998
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and received several medals. He also was a member of the Naval Reserve.
Other memberships include the American Institute of Architects and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
His survivors include his wife, Lourie Allen of Franklin; two brothers, Harold G. Allen and Andrew W. Allen, and one sister, Ann Allen of Mobile.
Services took place Nov. 18 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Franklin with burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Mass.

Ronald G. Chambliss
HOUSTON - Ronald G. Chambliss, a native of Mobile and resident of Houston, died Saturday in a Houston hospital. He was 31.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Marie Chambliss Mizell and Woodrow Q. Mizell of Chunchula; two brothers, Kenneth W. Chambliss and Michael L. Chambliss, both of Chunchula; two sisters, Amanda M. Silvers and Alice L. Glover, both of Chunchula; and one stepsister, Teresa Chambliss of Chunchula.
Visitation will be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Semmes on Friday from 11 a.m. until graveside services at 1 p.m. in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.

Freda Reynolds Harmon
MERIDIAN, Miss. - Freda Reynolds Harmon, a former resident of Butler, Ala., died Tuesday in a Meridian health care facility.
A native of Whynot, Miss., and a resident of Meridian, Mrs. Harmon, 83, had been self-employed.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Harmon Baxter of Meridian; two sisters, Doris Hynde of Tuscaloosa and Elisabeth Morgan of Meridian; one brother, Cliff Reynolds of Butler; one granddaughter; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be at Bumpers Funeral Home in Butler today for one hour before the 2 p.m. services. Burial will be in Butler City Cemetery.
