Age 79. A native of Mobile AL, former resident of St. Petersburg, FL currently residing in Gainesville, FL died Wednesday, November 24, 1999 at North Florida Special Care Center. He was a veteran of WWII serving as Lt. Commander in the Naval Air Force, received his Master's Degree-Annapolis USMA and was a self-employed Electronics Technician. Mr. Kirk was a member of the Parkinson's Support Group and a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Alice L. Kirk, Gainesville, AL; daughter, Margaret Sarah Kirk, Memphis, TN; sons, Charles Martin Kirk, II, Grosse Pointe, ILL, Donald Walter Kirk, Gainesville, FL, William Robert Kirk, Seattle, WA, John Bryant Kirk, Canfield, OH, James Forrest Kirk, Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Mary Kirk Kelly, Axis, AL, Dr. Margaret Anderson, College Station, TX; three grandchildren. A memorial services will be held from the Chapel of Pine Crest Funeral Home on Saturday, December 4, 1999 at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:30 til service time. Mr. Robert Elmer Gruver:
A native of Waterloo, Iowa and a resident of Mobile, AL for five years, died in Houston, TX on Monday, November 29, 1999. Mr. Gruver was a former resident of Houston, TX and a member of Semmes First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Janette Gruver of Mobile, AL; seven children, Christine Ames of Waterloo, IA, Greg Gruver, Rhonda Pearce, K.C. Gruver, all of Houston, TX, Elaine Banach of Gap Mills, WV, Kirby Gruver and Janet McCarty, both of Houston, TX; two brothers, Charles Gruver of Waterloo, IA and Jim Gruver of California; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held from Semmes First Baptist Church on Friday, December 3, 1999 at 10:00 A.M. Mr. Gruver will be taken to the church one hour prior to services. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P. M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Easter Seals Society. Mrs. Corinne Morgan Hansen:
A native of Brewton, AL and a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL died Tuesday, Nov ember 30, 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. Hansen; a daughter, Elsie Porcella and one grandson, Mark Porcella. She is survived by one daughter, Marian Berte' of San Antonio, TX; one son -in-law, Dr. Joseph Berte' of San Antonio, TX; five grandchildren, Catherine Berte' of Oakland, CA, Susan Euren of Rocklin, CA, Dr. Elizabeth Chambers of Owatonna, MN, Major Joseph Berte', III of Edwards, CA and Laura Lewis of Converse, TX; eight great-grandchildren and other relatives. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated from St. Dominic Catholic Church on Friday, December 3, 1999 at 11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the Rosary at 6:00 P.M. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 1, 1999 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Colon Williamson officiating. Mr. Robert Aubrey Matthews:
A native of Fairhope, AL died at Mercy Medical on November 29, 1999. Mr. Matt hews served as Executive Vice-President of the Seafarer's International Union and as President of the Harry Lundeberg School of Seamanship in Piney Point, Maryland before his retirement in 1971. He is survived by one daughter, Daria Merchant McDonald of Mobile, AL; two grandchildren, Nicholas Charles Merchant of Mobile, AL and Leigh Charae McDonald of Mobile, AL; one sister, Mrs. Francis Mooney of Mobile, AL and other relatives. Memorial Services will be held Friday, December 3 at 10AM from St. Paul's Episcopal Chapel in Mobile. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Wilmer Hall Episcopal Children's Home.
