Mildred H. Riddle
ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Mildred Handley Riddle, a retired teacher from the Mobile County school system, died Thursday in Alpharetta. She was 90.
Mrs. Riddle had lived in Mobile all her life until recently moving to Alpharetta.
She was a member of Spring Hill Avenue United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and served as church librarian.
Survivors include two children, John Richard Riddle of Alpharetta and William L. Riddle of Mobile; and two grandchildren.
Services are set for 11 a.m. today at Spring Hill Avenue United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street.

Leona B. Buckhout
Leona Brinkman Buckhout, a Toledo, Ohio, native, and Mobile resident, died Friday. She was 71.
She is survived by two sons, Brian Buckhout of San Diego and Bradley Buckhout of Phoenix; a daughter, Linda L. Keller of Mobile; two sisters, Mary Lauer of Rochester, N.Y., and Erma Strayer of Maumee, Ohio; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in Toledo at a time to be announced.
Arrangements are by Radney Funeral Home in Mobile.

Gay L. Davidson Sr.
Gay Lee Davidson Sr., a Hurley, Miss., native and Mobile resident, died Thursday at a local hospital. He was 70.
He is survived by his wife, Xenia H. Davidson; two sons, G. Lee Davidson Jr. and Asa Davidson, both of Theodore; two daughters, Sharon Scott of Escatawpa, Miss., and Diann Parker of Robert, La.; seven brothers and sisters; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 5 p.m. today at Roberts Chapel Church, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Serenity Funeral Home in Mobile.

Woodrow W. Davis
Woodrow Wilson Davis, who had been an employee of Courtaulds for many years, died Thursday at a local health care facility. He was 88.
Davis was a longtime Mobile resident and member of Central Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Milo Davis and William G. Davis, both of Mobile; a sister, Nellie Shaw of Opelika, Ala.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street, where services are set for 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Julia Mae James
Julia Mae James, a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, died Thursday at her Mobile residence. She was 88.
Mrs. James was a native of Gosport.
She is survived by a son, Edward L. James of Mobile, and four daughters, Ola Jones Jr. of Mobile, Delma Warmack of Mobile, Lucille Chatman of Prichard and Clayrea Thames of Wilmer.
Visitation will be Thursday at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral begins. Burial will be at Lawnhaven Cemetery.
Hodges Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.

Mary L. Pennington
Mary LaDocia "Docia" Billings Pennington, a longtime member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church, died Friday at a local hospital. She was 98.
A Mobile resident, Mrs. Pennington was a native of Plaquemine, La.
She is survived by two daughters, Myrtle P. Rush of Mobile and Gwendolyn P. Danison of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two daughters-in-law, Vail R. Pennington and Aleen Pennington; a sister, Jessie B. Huff of Bogalusa, La.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street. Graveside services are set for noon at Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Paul E. Goode Jr.
Paul Edward Goode Jr., a lifelong Mobilian, died Friday at the age of 21.
Survivors include his parents, Paul Edward Goode Sr. of Eight Mile and Patricia A. Goode of Thomasville, Ga.; three sisters, Aletia Seaborn of Montgomery, Sherry Edwards of Tampa, Fla., and Cynthia Oneal of Mobile; four brothers, Patrick A. Goode and Jerry Edwards of Eight Mile, Plummer Leon Wax of Hunnington Beach, Calif., and James Thornton of Mobile; and his grandmother, Aletia Austin of Thomasville, Ga.
Viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home. Viewing also will be after 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, 3625 W. Main St. in Whistler, with visitation at 10 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
