Major Mack
FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. - Major Mack, a retiree of the Mobile County Public School System, died Monday in Fayetteville. He was 71.
Mack, a native of Jackson, Miss., was a resident of Fayetteville and a former longtime resident of Mobile.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Ann B. Mack of Fayetteville; a daughter, Harriette Jackson of Atlanta; a son, Stanley Mack of Kansas City, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Lakeover Memorial Funeral Home on Beasley Road in Jackson, Miss. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at New Hope Baptist Church in Edwards, Miss., with burial in the church cemetery.

Wilma O. Runderson
Wilma Odell Runderson, a member of Christ Temple Apostolic Church, died Sunday, just 10 days shy of her 83rd birthday.
Mrs. Runderson, affectionately known as "Dell, " was a native of Mobile County and a resident of Saraland. She formerly lived in Mobile.
Survivors include her sister, Annie Mae Shula of Mobile.
Viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home. Viewing also will be after 10 a.m. Monday at Christ Temple Apostolic Church, 801 Virginia St., with visitation from 11 a.m. and services at noon. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Jacqueline L. Bennett
Jacqueline L. Bennett, who had worked as a waitress at several local restaurants for many years, died Wednesday at her home. She was 55.
She was a lifelong resident of Mobile.
Survivors include her husband, James Baggett, and a daughter, Donna Bennett, both of Mobile; three sons, Pete Bennett Jr. of Irvington, and David Bennett and Richard Bennett, both of Mobile; two sisters, Margaret Sellers of Baltimore and Linda Harrison of Mobile; three brothers, George Wooley and James Wooley, both of Mobile, and Larry Wooley of Atlanta; and eight grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at noon today in Serenity Memorial Gardens, with visitation at 10 a.m. at Serenity Funeral Home.

Robert J. Jones
Robert J. "Bob" Jones, who retired from International Paper after 49 years, died Thursday morning at a local hospital. He was 71.
A native of Columbus, Ga., Jones was a resident of Chickasaw for 36 years. He had served on the board of directors at Home of Grace for Women. He also was a deacon and head usher at Cottage Hill Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtice L. Jones of Chickasaw; two daughters, Brenda Lloyd of Saraland and Susan Chatham of Daphne; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, with services at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Jesse L. Keel Jr.
LUCEDALE, Miss. - Jesse Lee Keel Jr., who had worked as a roustabout, died Wednesday at a Mobile hospital. He was 63.
A native of George County, Miss., Keel was a resident of Lucedale. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Keel; and a son, Gary Keel, both of Lucedale; two sisters, Faye Harrelson and Mary Lucille Stokes, both of Mobile; and five grandchildren.
Services are set for 11 a.m. today at First Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, with burial in Magnolia Cemetery in Lucedale. Freeman Funeral Home in Leakesville, Miss., is handling arrangements.

Helen F. Turner
LEAKESVILLE, Miss. - Helen Faye Turner, a retired registered nurse, died Wednesday at an area hospital. She was 68.
Mrs. Turner, a native of Hattiesburg, Miss., lived in Leakesville. Prior to retirement, she served as director of nurses at Melody Nursing Home.
Survivors include her husband, George Henry Turner of Leakesville; a son, Max Turner of Mobile; two daughters, Ann Woods of Lynchburg, Va., and Karen Screptcok of Sterling, Va.; three brothers, William C. Moore of Theodore, Richard Moore of Hattiesburg and James Moore of San Diego; a sister, Joann Dabba of Clovis, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Funeral Home in Leakesville, with services at 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery in Leakesville.

Woodrow W. Booth
CITRONELLE - Woodrow Wilson Booth, a retired rural mail carrier, died Friday at his home. He was 82.
Booth, a native of Chunchula, was a resident of Citronelle, where he attended Memorial Baptist Church.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving from Oct. 23, 1941, to July 26, 1945. He received the Silver Star.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Lee Booth of Citronelle; six sons, Randy Booth of Lomita, Calif., Jeff Booth of Mobile, Kevin Booth of Chunchula, Timothy Booth of Semmes, and Calvin Dees and Tom Dees, both of Fruitdale, Ala.; a daughter, Cheryl Lott of Citronelle; three brothers, Leon Booth of Chunchula, L.T. Booth of Citronelle and Frank Booth Jr. of Theodore; two sisters, Jewel Malone and Catherine Brown, both of Chunchula; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Funeral Home in Citronelle. Services are set for 2 p.m. Monday at Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will be in Four Points Cemetery in Four Points, Ala.
