He is survived by a devoted and loving wife, Angeline Thames Evans; in-laws, John Ervin (Annie) Thames, Betty Jean Thames, Marzine (Patricia) Thames, Mertice (Thomas) Tanksley, Charles (Sharon) Thames, Leon (Zora) Thames, Perry Thames, Walter Lee Thames, Kenny Thames, Merlene Thames Ivory, Bertice (Debra) Thames and a host of other relatives and friends. Myra Ward Watson:
Age 78. A native of Plymouth, NC and resident of Fairhope, AL passed away Wednesday, December 1, 1999 at a local nursing care facility. Mrs. Watson was a member of the Fairhope United Methodist Church, and a longtime charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband H. O. Watson and a grandson, William Gerald Barnes, Jr. She is survived by one daughter, Diane Driver (William) Barnes of Saraland, AL; one son, Leon; two grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the graveside in the Memory Gardens of Fairhope, Friday, December 3, 1999 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Joe Bullington officiating. Mrs. Nora Sullivan Fantroy:
A native of Mt. Vernon, AL and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL departed this life Thursday, November 25, 1999. Mrs. Fantroy leaves to cherish her precious memories, a very loving, devoted caregiving daughter, Mrs. Janice M. DuBose, a very devoted son-in-law, Mr. Clarence DuBose, Sr. of Mobile, AL; one sister, Mrs. Lula Carter of Prichard, AL; two brothers, Mr. Henry Sullivan of Prichard, AL and Mr. Austin (Betty) Sullivan of Chicago, IL; 11 grandchildren, 4 very devoted, PFC Roydrick P. Fantroy of Fort Lee, VA, Miss Kamisha Y. DuBose, Mrs. Danita (Clyde, Sr.) Harris, and Mr. Henry Trotter all of Mobile, AL; 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, two devoted cousins, Mrs. Nettie Renee Harris and Mrs. Ruth Mae Fair; one devoted friend, Mrs. Ida Belle McNeil all of Mobile, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Woodie Lindy Gibson:
A native of Mobile, AL, former resident of Pensacola, FL for 25 years, and a resident of Mobile for the past 5 years died Tuesday, November 30, 1999 at his residence. He retired from the Civil Service after working at Brookley AFB and Pensacola NAS; he was a former merchant marine and a 32nd degree Mason. Mr. Gibson was an extremely devoted husband and father. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eldon Thompson and Norman Gibson. Survivors include his wife, Mylan Huggins Gibson; two daughters, Brenda (Ira) Nirenberg of New Orleans, LA and Verna Sue Gibson of Mobile; two step-daughters, Rebecca (Bob) Warren and Kay (Rick) Blackburn both of Mobile; two brothers, W. Berkley Thompson of Mobile and Vincent Thompson of Birmingham, AL; five step-grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mrs. Cleo Bradley Hughes:
A native of Plateau, AL. Born February 14, 1921, departed this life on Tuesday, November 30, 1999 in Winston Salem, NC. She was a faithful member of Yorktown Missionary Baptist Church of Plateau, AL where she served as a deaconess, on the nurses aid & pastors aid board, and the missionary society. Her community affiliations included the Order of the Eastern Star, the Heroines of Jericho, the Women's Federated Club and the Plateau Senior Citizens Club. She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters, Gwendolyn (Kenneth) Rocker of Winston Salem, NC, Patsy Dees (Allen Hilliard) and Angela Hughes (Vincent Kirksey) all of Mobile, AL; two sons, Alfred Earl (Marilyn) Hughes of Flint, MI and Larry Lavon (Joann) Hughes of Winston Salem, NC; twenty-five grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Thelma Eckson and Mrs. Ethel (James) Harris of Plateau, AL; A god-daughter, Judith Dickinson of Eight Mile, AL, and a hos t of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was a member of The Church of God House of Deliverance under the leadership of Pastor Debra A. Kenner. A native Mobilian, veteran of the US Navy and a retiree of the City of Mobile Fire Department died suddenly Monday, November 29, 1999. He was preceded in death by his beloved uncle and aunt, Glover & Rebecca Ludgood.
